⚡why the name rook? who came up with it?

Taako and I decided on it mutually! 

A rook is a type of corvid- we figured since the reason we got to have a baby was because of my work, and by extension, the Raven Queen, we should pay a bit of tribute.

So we looked into corvid names that could also be person names- because it would be an injustice to name our son Jackdaw. 

And we couldn’t use the obvious ‘Jay’, because Miss Lup has that name reserved already, and told us as much.

On one hand I prefer long-term investigations and trailings because I get to organize myself for work, but there’s something a little thrilling about last minute calls.

This is my son, Rook, and I can, will, and have killed for him.

Things are going wonderfully right now! Rook’s doing fantastic, and he’s gotten more used to the fact that I’m cold all the time.

Though, speaking of the cold, it is horrendously chilly on this plane! I’ve never spent a whole winter outside of the Astral Plane and I haven’t gotten used to that in the slightest yet.

But I just curl up in a bunch of blankets and drink tea to try and keep myself a reasonable touchable temperature.

The latter sometimes requires a bit of the former- if someone doesn’t want to be found and needs to be tracked. Difficult cases, that sort of thing.
