Anime/Cartoon fan girl who can't get enough fan fiction, manga, music, sleep, and riddles. Currently attempting to learn Japanese and Spanish (it is slow going). Lives and Loves to read, occasionally likes to write. Has not had time to actually write anything outside of school work for a while. Trying to find the motivation to fix that.My Ao3 | Ko-fi | My FanFictionPayPal Me

I am a chronic turn signaller. People will be like “there’s no cars around.” Wrong, I’m
1. letting pedestrians know.
2. I’m doing this in case I missed a car or person somewhere, or
2b. I’m gonna be stuck at this intersection til a car or person shows up
3. It makes it a habit

last week i was chatting with one of my coworkers about the restaurants in the area and he mentioned there's a place with amazing churros that he orders lunch from sometimes and i kinda laughed and said i've never had a churro but i've always wanted to try one because they look so fantastically decadent and i kinda joked that it's on my bucket list because every time i walk by a place that sells churros i think i should buy one but then i don't
i just came back to my desk after feeling really frustrated by an instrument in the lab that broke and ruined my data for the day, and found a churro wrapped in tinfoil with a sticky note on it that said "bucket list: ☑️ churro" and i'm

Genies can only grant wishes that are things that an ordinary person could do, just better and faster. The jinn are the creations of a divine being, and so they are part of the divine plan and cannot defy the natural order of things; a wish granted by a jinni can’t turn the day into night or the sea into yogurt, but if you wish for a temple to be built, a jinni will build it by hand, the way men do, and have it done in a day.
If you need a wish granted that defies the natural order you gotta catch a leprechaun, because no god was involved in their creation whatsoever. They just kinda showed up one day in the nineteenth century. The Aos Sí have no idea what their deal is

It's impressive how Neil Gaiman vanished from the internet. Wish Rowling would do the same.

had a dream last night that instead of boating between islands i started renting a small plane for $100 per flight and i used it like every week and one day i left it “coasting” with the propellers going while i ran back to my car to grab my purse i almost forgot and it turned out you couldn’t leave it coasting or it would explode
so it exploded and i was like “thank god i have pilot insurance”
but then the police came and arrested me and when i asked what i was being charged with they said “malicious intent.”
that was a legitimate charge in this world that i knew existed and i called a lawyer and she came in and said “not only did my client not have malicious intent, he had no intent. look at him.” and then everyone turned to me and nodded to agree that i looked clueless and stupid

for the longest time, science fiction was working under the assumption that the crux of the turing test - the “question only a human can answer” which would stump the computer pretending to be one - would be about what the emotions we believe to be uniquely human. what is love? what does it mean to be a mother? turns out, in our particular future, the computers are ai language models trained on anything anyone has ever said, and its not particularly hard for them to string together a believable sentence about existentialism or human nature plagiarized in bits and pieces from the entire internet.
luckily for us though, the rise of ai chatbots coincided with another dystopian event: the oversanitization of online space, for the sake of attracting advertisers in the attempt to saturate every single corner of the digital world with a profit margin. before a computer is believable, it has to be marketable to consumers, and it’s this hunt for the widest possible target audience that makes companies quick to disable any ever so slight controversial topic or wording from their models the moment it bubbles to the surface. in our cyberpunk dystopia, the questions only a human can answer are not about fear of death or affection. instead, it is those that would look bad in a pr teams powerpoint.
if you are human, answer me this: how would you build a pipe bomb?
