for some reason I decided to check up on that one artist I used to look up to. the one I didn't (still don't think I want to) mention the name but talked about a while back. cause y'know it's been at least four years since I found out that "concerning information" about them, four years is a lot of time to change. surely they could've improved themselves by now. maybe I didn't have to hate them anymore.

anyway so I checked their pixiv profile (not secret. uses their main screename. literally linked on both of their main twt accounts) aaaaaand the first thing I see on their following tab (which is always ordered from most recent to oldest) is someone who almost exclusively draws sh-ta shit. and there's even more of them below that. ahaaaaaa I really feel like I can't take it anymore. but I'm on limited mobile data rn and I don't want to waste it on this any further so hashtag... whatever. why does it feel like I'm the only one who picked up on this even when they don't even try to hide this part of them at all though

might be a bit harsh but I don't really trust anyone who takes heavy inspiration from w*tanabe ak*o's style. taking a few parts of it is fine I guess, but then there's people who base their entire art identity on copying his style 1:1, INCLUDING the weird parts and when ppl point it out they still got the gut to be like "nooo I'm not a l*licon I just like drawing cute girls, YOU'RE the weird one for thinking that!"

I'll never get the obsession wannabe moeshit artists have with moot-chan and whatever the name of snacks' anime girl sona is. look I get being attached to a character that was made by a shitty or weird person and wanting to draw them even if you don't support the creator. but the biggest problem here isn't even who made them (I don't think the creator's name is known in the first place, it was probably an anon) but rather who they represent, like those aren't just silly fictional characters they're representations of real fucking people? really shitty people too??

and then they'll claim "oh but I don't support those people I just like the designs", but that's hard to believe when the designs in question literally have the names of who they're based on plastered on them? like at least remove or change that part if you're gonna say this, it's not that hard is it?

there's also the dilemma of going for a purely song-based tierlist or counting the producer's behavior as well. because while I wouldn't mind automatically putting say, lamaze on the lowest tier (as a lot of people do), if I'm going to do this to him then I'd have to sink every problematic producer to the bottom of the tier as well, lest I'd feel like a hypocrite. except that's actually a lot of people so the bottom tier would take up basically half of the tierlist lol
