Been playing twilight princess again, for the first time in a few years, and i have thoughts. nothing lore extensive just feelings and vibes

this was my first zelda game. it's barely younger then me, by a few months, it's my favorite zelda game of all time, and i have never beaten it on my own. the last time i played it was right before the wii died again, where i only got as far as the desert, i dont think i made it to arbiters grounds.

as i kiddo i played on a nearly completed save file and just ran around a lot. and while i know so much about this game now.. i still Love just riding epona around hyrule field. the music and the vibes are just so good still.

it's odd though, im playing the gamecube version and the flipped map keeps tripping me up because i know the wii version very very well, but i've been watching people play the game since i couldn;t on my own, so i keep being confused about the orientation. my mental map is Sure this was how it was in the wii, for some rooms, and then my muscle memory is like "lmao no the fuck it wasnt" as it slams me into a wall because the confusion lagged my brain out lol.

it's fun. it's great. i Love the atmosphere and i Love midna and i Love love love everything about it so far.

it's also really fun to see how much i've improved. as a kiddo, i always dreamt of being able to beat these big bads on my own. a few years ago even, i asked my family if one of them would be willing to help if i struggled with a boss. i got passed it, to my surprise, but i still struggled with most enemies.

this time? diababa was easy peesy. same with ook. sumo wrestling was pretty easy too, and i remember struggling a Lot with epona's kakariko scene but it was easy as hell this time.

it's so fun.. i love being able to directly see how much i've improved. even a few years ago i would've been nervous, now im like "yeah i think i can do this." and it's Exciting.

i love sky cotl sometimes man.

i made friends with someone bc i was playing songs on the piano. they now join me and my sibling whenever we happen to be online together (after they finish their own candle runs).

we made another friend because a chibi kept running up to us during an event and holding their candle up to us. they ended up joining us a few times and unlocking chat, and now they also join me and my sibling frequently during the day.

the other day i saw they were both online, after not seeing the first one for a solid week, so i joing the first one, only to find them both hanging out together.

anyway we have a band of misfits now. two chibi skykids (the friends) and two tall skykids (me and my sibling). its fun bc one of them is really good at playing the music sheets, and the other is good at skips for trials. theres more to them then that, ofc. but i see them join us and just go :D

been playing Sky Children of the Light again, and the other day i was in an area getting a map, and i didnt realize the map wasnt in a safe spot, so i went afk to the bathroom

i come back, and there's a group of four people around me with their candles out trying to keep me alive from the rain- i had seen them earlier and they had all been chillin-

im really grateful for them because like. they didnt have to surround and protect me. but they did. because they saw me afk on the map, actively losing health(wings) and went "uh oh!!!" and then once i thanked them by bowing a bunch of times they all just fluttered away to hang out again.

(context for people who dont play Sky, you are a little guy who needs their light to stay alive. you have wings, and you have a certain amount of "flaps" as me and my sibling calls them, these flaps diminish if you get hit by one of the few enemies, or if you stay in the rain or water too long. if you lose all your flaps, you can't fly, and you need to find a light source to recharge, if you lose your final flame, you will actively lose wings when you take damage, which are what allow you to get more flaps, and are therefore really valuable. these people were keeping my flame lit, just barely.)

playing sky cotl: its fun! very cute very very cute! kinda sad a little bit maybe? unsure. cant tell whats happening half the time but i like it.

trial of fire can die in a hole though. eden? i can figure that out probably, trial of fire though? spent like an hour on that shit and had to quit on the third level because i just could not fucking do it. i tried and tried and tried and no matter what, those stupid fuckin shadow shits got me.

i dont usually like games where you lose all ypur like. abilities and then have to start over? but sky is okay because its super cute and im having a fun time just going along collecting candles. i keep that surely ive seen every sub section, right? and then i find a new one to look at and i go "ough- pretty..."

my sibling has lovingly named the Krill "growlers" so if you see me talking about the growlers, im talling about the searchlight boys.

im having fun :) im broke as fuck though so i dont have any cool cosmetics or anything, im just chillin.

i keep naming my friends silly things. we got Bandit and Storm and Lightbulb and Sprinkler... theres a few more i just dont rember rn. i nicknamed someone trinket bc we were doing eden together but they never befriended me so i didnt actually get to name them sadly. rip trinket, im sorry i let you die 😔
