Not to be a bitch but sometimes people engage with fiction in the most boring way possible, and nowhere is this clearer than in videogames. Like what you mean you hate a character just because they were kind of abrasive when speaking to the player character? "They were mean to me" and it didn't occur to you to wonder why? Like, what might their attitude toward you reveal about the world? About the social dynamics within it? About their own perspectives and backgrounds and personalities? Does it even occur you to ask? Would you only have liked them if they bowed to your presence and talked about how great you are? Like I'm sorry but you're so boring. How boring fiction would be if it cathered to you

i always thought it was silly that people would get so pedantic & heated over the idea of fantasy novels using words derived from real locations like "champagne" or "lesbian" or whatever. "a fantasy setting cant have words that are dependent on real-world context" i have bad news for you about all words

Still completely batshit to me that people consider Dragon Age (including Origins) to be medieval. DA is as medieval as Expedition 33 is German.

I'm going to watch a bunch of guys in medieval armor beat each other up tomorrow - people who have legit spent thousands on their gear - and if I get the opportunity I'm going to show one of them DAO armors (esp Lelianas leather midriff) to ruin their day.

Ooh the conflict post-Tearstone between a romanced Lucanis and Taash in a worldstate where Lace dies is so good. Lucanis adamantly refusing to believe Rook is alive and Taash wanting to kill him because at least there's still hope for him and he's just refusing to do anything about it
