An emotionally charged week on ol' Enders as Martin was finally (finally!!!) laid to rest. One of the best parts for me was Eve attending as one of the Slater clan.

It's Bro's 40th today 😲.

We celebrated a couple of days early, coz you'll never guess where he is currently...

If you didn't get the hint, he's on another cruise. We all wrote him a card and got him a few little bits to open so he'd have something to acknowledge the day. I mean apart from another trip to Norway ofc. That lil cruise control sign he got is beyond accurate 🤣.

It'll be Sis's turn to hit the big four-oh next year, then Mum can be like 'omg all my kids are middle-aged 🫣' and feel ancient and decrepit.

Nephew One is 20 next month.

Had a visitor to the family homestead.

Not the first time we've had a fox chilling in the garden. Might even be the same one. Bro thinks there might be a den either down the end of the garden under the old shed, or in the wild area over the back fence. It's cub season apparently, so maybe this is a momma stepping out for the fox equivalent of a smoke break, I dunno 😋.

I will never let my sister live down the time she went out for a smoke and came running back in, absolutely shitting herself coz a fox ran thru the garden. She couldn't remember if foxes preyed on people or not 🤣.

I do love how there's still a slow but steady trickle of notes on a bunch of my TDF posts.

I still have a bunch of TDF projects on my to-do list, and I still fully intend to get round to them. I have been slowly working thru a backlog of...well, everything, for the last 16 months. Lego Titanic is still staring at me from its box across the room, so it's not even like I've been shunting the fun stuff to the top of the list 😇.

In other news, I've just recovered from the mother of all gallbladder attacks that had me laid up for the better part of 2 weeks. I was *this close* to dragging my sorry carcass to the hospital, but then my fucking period decided to add insult to injury and there was just no way I could cope with both outside of my own home and bathroom, so I decided to hold off temporarily, and everything eased off around the same time because of course it fucking did 🙄. I really should talk to my doctor about getting a scan at least. I expect I'll no longer have the fucker by the time I turn 50. My gallbladder, not my doctor 😆. Tho you never know, state of the NHS.

Cats are good, Harley's still kickin'. Was a bit concerned for her over Christmas coz she became quite subdued, but we think she just overdid it on the turkey coz she perked back up after a few days. Thinking of switching vets, coz our local surgery has been snapped up by one of the big companies and standards have gone down the shitter. Harley's vet has moved to the last remaining independent surgery in town and it's very tempting to follow her. The cats will probably stay with the meh surgery for now coz they're all young and healthy and only really go in for jabs, but Harley's ancient and on a boatload of medication, and we trust her former vet to provide compassionate care at home when the time comes for Harley to leave us. Corpo-vet, meanwhile, doesn't particularly care about providing Harley's meds in a timely fashion 😠.

So yeah. That's what's going on in the world of Polly Pocket. Hope you all made it thru January in one piece. I really need to catch up on my dash, sorry. January lasted an *age* didn't it.
