Completely swept the Yankees (😲) to take the lead in the AL East.

It's a teensy lead (NY and TB are 1 game back) but I'll take it. Haven't been in this good a position at this point in the season since 2016 iirc.

Things are getting interesting as we approach the All-Star break.

After a bazillion hours I have finally finished Baldurs Gate 3.

Here be spoilers!!!

I started it the second it dropped on Xbox, got all the way into act 3, put it down for a couple of months for some reason (Lego probably), and came back to it hopelessly lost. Plus I'd missed my romance window coz I was saving myself for Jaheira only to find out she wasn't an option, which is homophobic as fuck because she was my gay awakening aaaaall the way back when she was little more than a pfp and a bit of voice acting. I don't care that she's old enough to be my great great great great grandma. Tav is a consenting adult. If she wants to be knuckles deep in an old druid, fucking let her.

So I started again. And this time I set my sights on Karlach, because who doesn't fucking love Karlach? I did have a one nighter with Lae'zel for shits and giggles, but that was over and done with before even meeting Karlach so nbd.

I took the '3 amigos in the hells' ending, coz I just couldn't let my girl die when push came to shove. Now I was going to, coz I had the game saved right before the dialogue choice so I could undo it all after the fact...but then Wyll was like 'we're taking you to Avernus and we're gonna fix your heart' and, well, who am I to say no to the Blade of Frontiers-- sorry, the Blade of Avernus.

The final part of the final boss fight was actually ridiculously easy, coz I'd saved pretty much every 100+ hp spell scroll I could find and then just spammed them alongside my deadliest onboard spells. Didn't even end up using half the allies I'd amassed. I'd amassed a lot. Dame Aylin probably hates me now for leaving her on the bench. And I absolutely did not use my owlbear in the fight because why the fuck would I do that? If I wanna use an owlbear I'll have Jaheira or Halsin morph into one. The cub's a pet. His name is Albert. Pronounced the French way. Albert the owlbear.

I gave the super tadpole to Gale. And I had Orpheus squid out for the endgame. I was with the emperor for most of the game, but then his attitude started to really grate so I switched allegiances. Dude was more up his own arse than Githyanki royalty ffs!!! He was so much less annoying in dream guardian form. And much prettier too.

Loved the dinner party. Was satisfied with where everybody ended up.

Very good game. I know I might be biased coz me and BG have got history, but it is genuinely a very good game.

Defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Thoroughly fucked by the bullpen after a strong 6 innings from Bassitt.

It isn't even about Hoffman bobbling what should've been an easy out at a crucial moment (annoying as it fucking was), so much as the number of walks handed out by pretty much every reliever that took the mound today.

Frustrating.

That's moved us back up to 2nd in the AL East.

I've fallen down a rabbit hole and am currently watching a bunch of Strongest Man On Earth events on YouTube.

Everybody looks *exactly the same* 🤣. It's like they took one big, burly, beardy dude and ran him thru a photocopier. I can barely tell them apart, it's brilliant 😁.

Was a bit of a weird journey getting here. It went like this:

Distance challenges in/on vehicles not designed for long distances (skateboards, e-skateboards, scooters, mobility scooters etc) -> walking 100,000 steps in 24hrs -> marathons without training and/or in unsuitable footwear -> *ultra* marathons (in suitable footwear or otherwise), some with minimal training -> professional speed climbing (artificial wall) -> trampwall -> Power Slap 🤪 -> Strongest Man On Earth.

Still not sure how you get from trampwall to Power Slap exactly. The algorithm is dark and full of terrors 😋.

Not to be too British about it, but he fact that someone could call themself a professional slapper and not have it mean what you'd expect it to mean amuses me 😁. Fucking stupid 'sport' tho. And unlike genuine combat sports you're not allowed to protect yourself, so good luck when the CTE scandal hits (no pun intended).
