Like only emotional abuse as the 100% cause for a OSDDID system? No. Not even close in fulling any significant criteria for either OSDD or DID development. I certainly believe emotional abuse plays a role in the development of a system, but you should not ever logically suspect ONLY emotional abuse in causing OSDDID.

Dissociation is a response to truly painful stimuli. Sexual, physical, and neglectful abuse does proven harm to any child, both in body & in mind. OSDDID forms from the constant need to be ready to ignore chronic pain stimuli as soon as a trigger is recognized. Emotional abuse— while absolutely plays an impactful role on the survivors state of mind & confidence, is simply not categorized as pain stimuli in your brain.

People categorize emotional abuse into their core beliefs and opinions, which is why emotional abuse alone is not enough to develop a system.

Hey! Introjects are not their source. Regardless of what Jschlatt did (of which I genuinely know nothing about), an introject shouldn’t have to carry the burden of their source’s actions.

Furthermore, it’s incredibly healthy honestly for an introject to distance themselves from their source and not care about it. Removing the box would simply reinforce the idea that introjects need to associate and claim their source as part of them, rather than distancing themselves away from it.

(Also… read the box. That’s the whole point of it. The user doesn’t care. They don’t need to care. Genuinely confused by this ask, ngl.)

Systems are allowed to lie!

My personal opinion is actually one I will not budge on; Systems are allowed to lie. To anyone I don't want to know, I can lie about how many alters I have! I can lie about how many fictives there are, in fact, I can lie if I am a fictive! I can lie to who they are talking to! I can lie about anything that we as a system do not want to share, for any reason!

Anything about the system information is not just personal but is inherently medical privacy. You need to only be honest with your psychiatrist or therapist.

While there might be a boundary someone has with a specific alter, that is different. But besides that, just because someone knows you are a system, does not mean they get to know about anything inside of it. You owe no one information, the disorder comes from trauma. No one deserves or has the right to your trauma. The exact same goes for reactions, coping, and results of that trauma.

You know it was all fun when autistic people were referring to themselves and other autistic people as “acoustic”. It got a little cringey but was still relatively harmless when other people started commenting it as a joke under their friends/parasocial content creators videos of them geeking out about special interests or whatnot. But now people are using it as a synonym for stupid, and I’m not one to cry ableism often but it’s become people’s replacement for the r-word and that shit needs to stop yesterday.
