What a day. Started with a young fella Aiden @aiden_665 saying thanks for the support and presenting me with an @guildford_grammar_school medallion, continued with working with an incredible staff @westbeechborops and distributing A Day Made Better Certificates to them along with nominating an amazing lady, my associate principal @worldmiss for a WAPPA Award. Then it ended with being named as a Queens Baton Relay Runner for the Commonwealth Games. Life really is a rollercoaster of emotions. @publiceducation_wa @commgamesaus @2018_commonwealth_games @frontrunnersports @stevemoneghetti @pcrg_running

Sapphire, Haley-Speca and Gower (2008) proposed that the quality of teaching dwarfs all others in terms of student learning. As such, leadership teams should, and have to, work harder to improve the quality of teaching within their schools by leveraging the recruitment, retention and replacement of staff. Interestingly Smith & Smith (2015) stated that, " high quality, proactive recruitment and selection of teachers by principals is, at times, constrained by the district's contractual obligations." While this is described within a US context, we are now seeing the same constraints, through policy adjustments, being imposed on IPS that have the potential to hamstring the aforementioned process and, ultimately, add more pressure on leadership teams in terms of monitoring and sustaining embedded effective teaching practices because of ideological mismatches in staff placement.
