action girl : fairly obvious and self-explanatory, but jessie isn't afraid to get her hands dirty or get physical with shinra soldiers. she also has a penchant for demolitions and explosives.

the tease : she's openly flirtatious and forward, especially with cloud; however, this behaviour doesn't seem exclusive to him as biggs seems to imply she does this often and wedge even warns cloud that she isn't serious and that it's likely a game to her.

my god, what have i done? : after the sector 1 mako reactor explosion, jessie spends the rest of the game feeling extreme guilt for the catastrophic devastation — thinking her bomb was responsible. she spends the rest of the game working to try and fix it.

BONUS: karmic death ( subverted ) : jessie feels that dying from her own explosives going off in her face is just what she deserves for all the lives lost because of her bombs. but the irony is, the truth behind the reactor bombings actually leaves her with little to no blood on her hands.

berserk button : jessie keeps a lot of things close to the chest. one of those things is her dad's condition following his accident at one of the reactors, which caused him extreme mako poisoning to the point of being induced into a coma. biggs and wedge express worry that she'll beat the shit out of them if she finds out they told cloud about it ( hint: she will ).

i like to imagine that jessie is really good with kids. she gets on their level. she plays with them and entertains them. when she reads them stories, whether it's marlene or kids at the leaf house, she 100% uses different voices for each character. she will play wrestle with them and generally just run them ragged until they're tuckered out. absolutely will carry marlene piggyback-style or on her shoulders, or let her attempt to braid jessie's hair.

✧ Jessie was born August 3rd. This makes her a Leo. Leo females are known to be fierce, bold, charismatic, and confident. The birth flowers of those born in August are the Gladiolus and the Poppy. The Gladiolus symbolises strength, intelligence, rememberance and honour. Red Gladioluses, in particular, are known to represent love, passion and infatuation. The Poppy, known for its red colour, represents those lost in times of war, sleep, death, relaxation, and recovery.

✧ She is partially deaf in one ear. Early on in her experimentation with creating bombs and explosives, numerous trial and errors resulted in Jessie losing part of her hearing in the left ear because of the explosions. This is, in a small way, why she often appears to invade other people's space. While she is certainly outgoing and unafraid to approach others, her tendency to lean close to people is also a way for her to focus on and decipher what the other is saying, especially if they are standing to her left.

✧ Though acting remains her biggest passion outside of AVALANCHE duties, her other hobbies include tinkering with cars and motorcycles, racing, and karaoke.

✧ Her knowledge of and interest in cars and bikes initially came from Rowan, her father. After the accident at Shinra that resulted in Rowan becoming comatose from Mako poisoning, Jessie spent a lot of time working on an older model car that had been her father's passion. It was her hope that he would wake up in time to see the finished product, but the car remains unfinished and Rowan remains in a coma.

✧ Jessie's background in theatre means that she has quite a lovely singing voice well-suited to the art. Get a few drinks in her and she'll happily belt out a few songs on karaoke night. But even if she isn't drunk, you can often find her humming or singing quietly to help pass the time while she works on projects for AVALANCHE or herself.

            𝐈𝐅  𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄,  Jessie's  face  becomes  several  degrees  warmer  at  the  accusation.  Did  he  have  to  stand  so  close?  Normally,  she  would  revel  in  this  kind  of  attention.  Cloud's  such  a  hard  nut  to  crack  on  most  days,  that  any  kind  of  interaction  that  involves  invading  her  personal  space  feels  like  a  win  in  her  book.

              Her  flirtations  have  always  been  just  that;  flirting.  She's  never  been  particularly  serious  about  them.  Jessie  enjoys  trying  to  fluster  him.  He's  a  challenge  that  she's  all  too  willing  to  overcome  and  pull  out  all  the  stops  for,  so  when  the  tables  turn  and  she  finds  herself  flustering  under  his  attention  —  well,  it's  a  first  in  a  long,  long  time.

              She  doesn't  think  he's  flirting  with  her  right  now.  But  then,  it's  always  so  hard  to  tell.  And  if  he  is  flirting  with  her,  that's  a  whole  other  can  of  worms  she's  not  sure  she's  ready  to  open.  Cloud  doesn't  strike  her  as  someone  who  plays  the  field.  If  he's  returning  her  flirtatious  quips,  it's  because  he's  interested.  On  some  level,  anyway.

              But,  like  she  always  does  when  things  get  a  little  too  vulnerable  for  her  tastes,  she  downplays  it  and  shoves  away  those  pesky  feelings  that  are  a  little  too  deep  to  be  considered  casual.
