It could still work but he'd have to have been pretending to be John Sugden for a long time bc his army mate and Aidans mum both knew him as John Sugden, plus whoever was at his mums funeral I assume would know him as that as well. And I can't really see what the motivation behind that would be. I guess they could spin it as his mother lied to him about his real father and he found out so he's Sugden by name only but idk it seems unlikely atp, the perfect time for that twist would've been to reveal Aidan was the real John
ugh it just feels like they were going a certain way with his character (Robert copy) then they got the call that Ryan would come back and they had to do something else like make him a villain, but they’re still not sure about how far to go… anyway I like that idea about Aidan even tho I don’t know much about the storyline lol just make John a psycho! and not a sugden! they had all the pieces there 🙄

the writing for vic and aaron feels flat and strange to me (maybe it’s a bit of the acting as well?) so that’s one thing that’s kind of putting me off atm, another is the ugly new sets I’m not used to (ew that’s not MY woolpack) and the last thing is the directing style
#like is the directing always this stylistic now or??#feels weird#idk like when I went back to watching EE after I hadn’t for years it still felt normal#But I suppose I just watch that as an average soap viewer#whereas emmerdale I’m watching from the pov of ‘roberts my baby’#but yeah the writing mostly just feels a bit strange maybe rushed too#i am still taking a break technically l am watching from afar
