Ben could hardly believe it. “Cody?” He asked unsure of himself. How had he found him? What did he mean? “I…” The once Jedi Master was at a lost for words.

“All right, I’ll give you the chance to explain yourself.”

Cody was relieved when Kenobi allowed him to explain himself. While his explanation was not convincing, Cody wanted the general to know that he hadn't betrayed him on purpose.

"All the clones have chips in their heads that the Kaminoans have placed in them. These chips are meant to control every clone trooper so we can all accomplish the same task. Order 66. Destroy all Jedi. Chancellor Palpatine had the ability to do it. The moment you left , Palpatine called me and activated the chip.

At that moment I was not in control of myself, I was not myself. Like a droid mindlessly following orders. When the chip ceased to be active, I pondered what happened and whether I should be loyal to the empire. And I went awol and met Rex, who told me everything about the chips. Fives once tried to warn everyone, but it didn't work."

Cody took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry I had to betray you, even though it was under the control of the chip."

The good news this season (rather weak for me) is that these two are finally officially father and son.
