Hey, how is wild Shockwave doing? Has he come into contact with any other Cybertronians yet?

He’s doing fine! Haven’t meet anyone else though due to a certain SOMEONE trying their darnest to keep him in the dark.

I can't figure out how to design a transformer for the life. seeing brim made me realize, I didn't need to be so focused on making my transformer oc a "transformer". (Sorry if that doesn't make sense.)

That i could just literally make a robot and throw them in. Might need tune ups to the design to follow some of the basics, but if I can make them fit story wise. Its work!

YEpppp that's usually half the fun of making up a new character! Brim is a case of a character that looks almost nothing like the other designs in canon, but with only a few things to 'connect' him with the universe (his head), his lore makes him completely plausible to exists!

For my other ocs like Webb and Rookie, I follow the more standard way of transformers design (aka make a robot and add bits of a vehicle/object into their body), but the Transformers universe designs are so flexible, you can make anything into a robot! There's a canon character that is just literally a pen named Ballpoint.

...I may also have been about to ask if I could 3d model Brim. He's just so shape. Anyway, I was trying to figure out how his body went together, if you don't mind?

I'm guessing most of it was unused replacement parts from the medbay, and obviously he's got the crutches, but what about his lab coat? For a while I thought it was a regular lab coat, but it's kind of a different shape? Is that just what cybertronian lab coats look like or did Brim, like, sew a few of them together to get one his size? And the connection point for his head, while writing this I had the sudden thought that maybe it was originally a charging base or something? Idk

More Brim everyone, I do love this silly guy.

His body is made of scraps like you said, and a lot of medical equipments, Brim made it with the purpose of being as convenient as possible to do his job, so he made due with what he got.

The body itself lacks most of the ‘organs’ a typical cybertronian has, he has no tanks nor spark casting, energon lines and wires to control the body is what makes up most of the space. This is also why Brim avoids check up like the plague, Ratchet only begrudgingly allows it since Brim is a medic and he rarely gets seriously hurt, if he ever gets too damage Ratchet WILL not allow him to fix up alone.

The connect point in his neck IS originally a charging port for medi-drones! Brim only modified so that his arms can slot through and into the parts where he can control the body.

And it's a bit hard to see on the ref, but Brim also has foldable trays that he can prob up to use during work!

For his ‘coat’, it’s actually a sort of soft metal! Solid enough to be able to hold up on its own, but can be flexible enough for Brim to move around freely. (Idk what kind but it’s probably some kind of alien material who knows)

Brim starts covering up when he realizes that having a body made of mismatches metals and scraps usually make people try to drag you to a clinic, and that’s a no-go.

I feel like Brim would have fun making his own plushies, the sewing and the pattern making like a relaxed version of repairing armour. to the point his room is filled with them, including an extra large one that he can hug when he's had a rough cycle.

Being a non-sentient turned sentient himself, Brim can’t help but bring every little broken things back to fix up. Just incase if they ever wake up, they’d know they’re never alone.

Brim once casually stated they "weren't a real doctor anyway". When asked, they confirmed they did have a medical licence, did have all the necessary medical training, did not drop out of medical school last second and are not wanted for any kind of malpractice. The person they were speaking with has yet to decipher what Brim defines as a "real doctor" that they aren't.

Brim talks to themselves a lot, due to the isolation, they also talk to the drones a lot, because they are one, but the crew thinks it's another isolation thing. It probably still is.

Brim was once found in a supply closet sleeping under a pile of medical drones, they all looked up in sync when the door opened, the person who found them just closed the door and went back to bed. They think it was a dream.

- Ratchet has tested Brim multiple times, he really does have the medical training required, and his id is technically not registered on the new system (lots of bots haven’t registered yet). Malpractice is a big theory because of the ‘empurata’, but Ratchet just thinks he maybe used his skills on mechs for free and was labeled a criminal and had his medical license taken away. His ‘head’ resembling a medi-drone doesn’t escape notice, most think that the senate used a drone’s head as a form of humiliation, ‘remind him of his place’.

- Brim does talks to himself, but he talks to the other medi-drones more, and yes it is very much due to the isolation. He also makes an effort to remember their designations.

- Nobody believes that bot.

3d Bean (Part Two). Finally, I completed the full bean. My dumbass switched modelling methods halfway through because I didn't like the way the pieces were meshing. Anyways, bean on da counter.

This one is probably obvious but everyone think Brim got empurata. Whirl pretends to dislike him because "why would all empuratees be buddies, are you some kind of Functionist" BUT he will punch anyone who mocks/doubts Brim's aptitude as a doctor

Also once Swerve filled Brim's energon tank with engex :)

THAT’S TRUEE EVERYONE DOES THINK BRIM IS AN EMPURATA, Whirl also lowkey dislike Brim because of the way he talks about himself and his work (under the misunderstanding) sounds an awful lot like functionalism, despite Brim’s insistence that he isn’t. Whirl thinks he’s a hypocrite.

Swerve got an earful from Ratchet and Magnus, had to spend the night in the brig but it was worth it because they found out that Brim is a cuddly drunk.
