I’m so excited to finally be able to share this with you all!

This is an art commission done for noshelfcontrolbookbox May book box Rebels and Rising on Instagram. It was so much fun to go back and draw these characters that I had loved so much when I was younger.

peeta mellark

definition of soft boi. i love this character so so much because to me he represents the truth that boys are not always the vengeful, angry, strong ones, and that realistically humans are jumbles of all sorts of traits. he bakes and paints, katniss his female love counterpart hunts and fights and is a leader in the revolution. i love this character because this does not mean peeta is weak. or that boys are better weak and the girl strong. katniss holds him very important, and even says multiple times for him to be saved over her. because true kindess, in the dystopia, and now, is rare. peeta is physically strong, and is artistically talented; he's great at public speaking - like katniss notes - and is more clever than he lets on. his intelligent use of words and emotions with people is the reason the capitol fall in love with katniss and peeta, and generally therefore the reason they stay alive. peeta mellark is generous and suffered so much and yet continues to put people first - like when he is still recovering from being hijacked and plants primroses outside katnisses house, or when he holds a tribute as she dies - a stranger who was put in there to kill. he would make a wonderful partner and father and i'm so glad he got what he deserved after it all :') he's so funny and makes light of situations like when he makes katniss laugh in a literal battle royale. from the begining selfless was his character - he helped katniss when she was unknown to him, when they owed each other nothing, because people are people and they deserve respect. he cares for haymitch, and effie, and for rue when he speaks to her family directly from what he believes; he has the bravery to defy the capitol. he doesn't use aggression to defy though like most people, he does things in such a special and different way. he doesn't want become a 'pawn in their games' and he votes no when there is a suggestion of a hunger games with the capitol's children. i love the path his character takes compared to some when revenge is put on the table; he had lost just as much as those who voted yes (i don't disrespect how others deal with pain, i just relate more to peeta's decision). it's a lot easier to be destructive than creative. gale is generally the destruction, which is why katniss chooses peeta in the end. peeta is the creative. the boy with the bread symbolises daffodils and yellow and rebirth and it's just so fitting. he gives off the biggest dumbass energy (like when he electrocuted himself and literally died infront of everyone and said: 'be careful there's a forcefield out there'). he loves katniss and he holds her so gently and usjdjsjsi he's such a beauty. peeta, my boy pita bread, you deserved better than to have to fight to the death twice, lose your family, be tortured and left broken afterwards. he deserves to smile and i love it when he does. but the fact he stays so helpful or happy, for others, shows his good heart can't be broken. that's why he's one of my favourites.

This. Shot. 

This shot is almost more beautiful to me than when Jamie & Claire see one another for first time in the print shop—for several reasons. 

Jamie and Claire are face to face. Skin on skin. 

Jamie and Claire have finally made love with the person they love for the first time in two decades. 

Claire cannot peel her eyes away from her husband’s face. She is transfixed. 

Jamie’s eyes are closed in a wave of being overwhelmed by his emotions. In all honesty, he looks as if he is crying. 

Their hands are intertwined. 

They are finally one again. 

This picture is a gift. 

Something that they never thought that they would ever have again. 

There is a sense of awe and wonder: Is this real? Are you real? 

And they can touch one another and know them to be so.
