The previous paper I wrote
The research paper I had to write this last week was the hardest paper I have ever had to write before. I do not think it was all the research itself because that was always easy for me. What I found to be the hardest was that we had to use database's to search and come up with it. another hard part was all the "controversial" topics we had to find. I had always struggled to find those and it was never easy and this time it was way harder. papers like this to me are hard and challenging and sometimes I do not mind them because when I am done I feel as if I have accomplished something very good and I always end up feeling good about myself. This semester was very challenging for me with all of the papers we had to write and personal issues but I am so happy that I had a professor like Mrs.Scott!!!!

Why can't you live without a dog?
"When I look into a dogs eyes I don't see just an animal I see a human being a loving soul" - A.D Williams. I think this quote works with the topic of my blog today "why do you think humans couldn't survive without a dogs", to me you people today look at dogs as their friend wether it's a dog groomer or an infant who just grows up with the dog. Dogs definitely have almost the same feelings as we do, they can sense a lot from humans. When I was 7 I had a miniature schnauzer and his name was bisquite (weird name right?). He was the best dog I had ever had I grew up with him right by my side from the age of 7 until I was 12 when he got hit by a car. My heart my was so sad and that's when I decided that dogs are more than just pets but they also have feelings.

fracking ?
For starters I have no idea what fracking is. I have read a paper over it and last semester someone gave a presentation over it and I am still completely lost. though I read the paper there is still one thing that irritated the living crap out of me. "If you like your clean air, do not thank the President" (Pick par 10). This was also during Obama's presidency and I think that he did the most he could and helped everyone. personally I don't know much about politics  or fracking or any of this weird stuff but in my opinion I don't think that just anyone could be president because we would be so screwed and then everyone would die. The article doesn't really explain why she hated the president so much but she just says that if we like the clean air that we cant thank Obama and I don't think that's fair.

School in the country
I read a essay by Tim Friend; Water in America: is it safe? I was able to relate to this author when he put "The result was widespread fecal contamination of drinking water. More than decade after Floyd, North Carolina still has more than 4,000 hog waste lagoons (Friend Par 14)." I live in a very small town and I have never experienced a full flooding but I did get a lot of rain and during that time it flooded out our pig barn at the high school, leaving all the pigs germs and fecal matter all in the water. They had to close school for about two to three days and make sure that the water there was going to be okay to continue to drink. By the time we got back to school they had held a meeting saying that the water was fine and we were all good to go, later that day someone had drank the water and it had made them sick and we had to all go home but no one was complaining about that! it took about a week for them to clean out all of the fecal matter and germs before we could return to school.

quote that describes my week
“Life is tough, but my darling so are you” -Stephanie Bennett Henry. This quote represents my week because it has been a very tough week with being busy with school and two doctors appointments. I like to think of myself as a very strong person and that is obviously exactly what this quote is about. I think that the overall message that Henry is trying to get across is that life is very tough but you have to know that you are too.

Confusion of Compassion
Today I read a story called " On Compassion" by Barbara Lazear Ascher. The story to me showed all different kinds of compassion, where you could get easily confused on compassion and fear or compassion and pity or maybe having to learn compassion. To me fear and compassion could get confused when you read her story in the sense of when she says " The mother see's the man approaching so she tightens her grip on the stroller, reaches into her purse and pulls out a dollar and impatiently pushing the stroller before her bearing the dollar across her" (Asher 36). To me I can see where the mom would be giving the man a dollar not because of compassion but because of the fear if she did not give him money he would grow angry and harm her or her child, but if one was to just see her do this and not know how she felt while doing so one would think it was because she felt bad for the man. On the other hand compassion could also get confused with pity, I was able to tell by the story when she wrote " I saw a moody French women coming from the kitchen holding coffee in a cup and a paper bag... of what" (Asher 36). To me this gave me the idea that she only gave the man the drink and food out of pity because she was known as the "moody French woman", a moody person would not give someone something out of compassion but because she wanted to "get rid of the troublesome presence" (Asher 36). The last thing is that compassion should have to be learned in this story they are in New York and there are tons of homeless around and that would be one of the things the population would have to learn. "Compassion must be learned by all the adversity, especially with the adversity coming from the gates, yards, and even the windows of home owners in New York" (Asher 37).

This week I read a story about a women who went to London and she wanted to be just a normal girl, someone no one knew. "but if you were apart of my family your name was always linked to the island". I can relate to that very well because where I grew up everyone knew my dad and I was always "Jessie's daughter" and that was when I knew I was not able to get away with as much.

How Nancy Mairs inspired me.
This past week we read a story called “on Being Cripple” it really gave me motivation and not because I am a cripple or hurt in any way but because she is cripple and she is still does the thing she loves and does not let it stop her. The way she explains her condition is I such a graceful way, she isn't looking for pity nor is she wanting people to feel bad for her. I think the most I took away from this was that not only can some still love what they do and have such a condition but also still be treated the same, she never wanted to be treated differently and even on her trip to Florida all she wanted to do was to enjoy the time are make memories because she knew she would never get them back. Nancy Mairs has truly inspired me to never let go of what I love even when in a serious condition.
