Survivor Finale

My favorite player and person won and I now have hope for the new generation of survivor after this season

just watched the survivor 42 premiere and here are my thoughts…

I loved Jackson and was heartbroken he had to leave so soon into the game. He had a great story and I loved how open he was.

Maryanne. A Queen. So full of life and would love to see her go far. I just love seeing her on my screen!

I think if Mike makes it far enough, he could become a physical threat. I don’t think his age will affect how he performs in the game.

Zach seemed like the super fan of the season which could have helped make him an early threat, but I respected how hard he tried and he did all he could.

Overall this seems like a likable cast and hopefully will turn out to be an exciting season despite the fact that I dislike all of the twists throughout the past.

mtv’s the challenge is underrated

this is one of the greatest competition shows ever produced and yet, most people have never heard of it. for those of you that have never heard of the show before let me explain the epic-ness that is MTV’s The Challenge.

think of a combination of Survivor and Big Brother. people- some strangers, but others know each other from previous seasons of the show- competing for a large sum of money by battling against each other in challenge and voting one another out. the entire cast lives in a mansion together at an exotic location- with each house is different from the season prior. depending on the format of the season, that is how the winner(s) is/are determined, whether it is a team, a male and a female, a pair, or an overall winner.

now that you know how the show operates, let me tell you what makes it so spectacular to watch.

the host

while the show has gone through hosts in the earlier years, they found diamond in the ruff in TJ Lavin. the pro bmx rider started hosting the show in the mid 2000s, and hopefully he will not be going anywhere soon. with his witty remarks, the way he is so real to the contestants, and his overall persona, what is there not to love about TJ Lavin? he jokes with the contestants, but if they mess up, he keeps it real with them. TJ makes it known that he does not like quitters and if you aren’t up for anything to get out. I respect how invested he is not only to the game, but the actual people that are competing in the show as well.

the cast

so dynamic. so explosive. dynamite. I don’t even know else how to explain the cast of The Challenge. each person that has ever been in the show has such a distinct personality. you can either love a contestant or despise them, but they are memorable. most shows have contestants that when you see them in the reunion episode you almost tilt your head as if to remember who they are. I can honestly say that does not occur with me while watching this show. all contestants can be easily split up into two categories: rookies and vets. “rookies” are those who have yet to compete on The Challenge before, while the “vets” are returning competitors. there tend to be alliances between the two due to the obvious differences, but this is not always the case.

the challenges

well duh the show is called The Challenge but actually the challenges that they compete in and things that they have to do are pretty incredible. between jumping off cliffs, hangliding into seas, racing for days in the desert, jungle, and snow, these competitors have done it all. don’t forget lots and lots of puzzles. many times the competitions are physical as in against a team or another competitor and often last hours.

the rivalries

alliances. promises. fueds. bad blood. backstabbing. everything. constantly. people literally always have an issue with each other on the show. someone literally had a fight about pizza. but I fricken love it. it’s so entertaining. the rivalries can form from that season, knowing each other prior, and two people even had a rivalry based on twitter. yup.
