Victoria had screamed the words at you, green eyes flashing with anger and hurt. You froze and you just stared at each other, Victoria’s chest heaving as she fought for breath, trying desperately not to let the tears at the corners of her eyes fall. You felt frozen, the argument and everything else melting away as your wold narrowed to focus on those words alone.

It was so sad you realized, how much truth rang in those words.  Victoria had been wearing a facade since the moment she got here, acting like she owned the campus when it was all just an act to protect herself. You realized with a start how much pent up self loathing and hatred she had and it made sense ( you internally argued that it still didn’t justify the way she’d taken it out on you.)

She bites her lip and looks away and your heart cracks a little at the sight. You reach out and wrap your fingers around her wrist. She resists at first, refusing to budge. You internally roll your eyes and instead step into her personal space, yanking her crossed arms apart and slipping into them, hugging her tightly.

Victoria’s breath hitches and you hold her tighter. She starts to shake and you know she’s about to cry.  You lean up the slightest bit and kiss her neck and whisper “It’s okay.” Your words are the key to the flood gates as shes soon openly sobbing, clinging to you so tightly you can feel her nails leaving indents in your skin. You don’t care, you simply hold her and whisper comforting nothings in her ear. 

Her legs twitches and you correctly assume it’s about to give out. Carefully you lay her down on the bed and immediately snuggle up to her. You press your foreheads together and wipe away her tears. You nudge her chin up and press a sweet kiss to her lips before whispering to her, “You’re the best thing to ever happen to me.” She chokes on a sob and squeezes you tighter and you know she’s thankful. You continue to hold her and stroke her hair, occasionally kissing her. You want to  help her with the demons she’s battled for so long and here seems a good a place to start as any.

Finally got around to writing another Chasefield story an anon sent to me a while ago. It was too cute not to.
