Pebbleback's are large, extremely lizard-like dragons, easily identified by their heavily armoured back, head and tail. They are extremely tough, effortlessly resisting attacks from people and animals alike. This, along with their firepower, spewing copious amounts of liquid fire (basically lava), makes them extremely dangerous. However, they do have a softer side: their defenses mean they are often shadowed by small animals, in patricular birds, to help avoid their own predators. In return, they eat parasites that lodge themselves in-between the pebblebacks armour plating, which are otherwise impssible to get rid of. This partnership is especially prevelant in winter, since the pebblebacks internal temperature is enough to melt the snow around it and keep its entourage warm and cosy.

I swear my brain has been 90% dragons these past few months, glad I finally got around to talking about one of my own creations again. Not that I dont like drawing fanart, it's just nice drawing something that's all me.

(cw: sexual assault) the pedophile -as it is understood outside of academic circles- is a mythical creature. the idea that a complete stranger who kidnaps and sexually assaults kids is their biggest threat is absolutely insane; not one case of CSA (child sexual assault) in a hundred looks like that. CSA is committed almost uniformly by adults in a preestablished position of authority (such as family, family friends, clergy, or teachers) and in a way that a victim who doesn't know what sexual assault looks like will be left unsure what happened to them. without knowing concretely how sex and sexuality works, would you be able to tell the difference between molestation and the various other forms of unwanted physical touch and abuse kids are regularly subjected to? would it even seem that different? but parenthood and the submission of youth to adults as institutions are threatened by the reality of CSA. adults need to justify their ownership of children through an imagined outside threat constantly held at bay through their diligence. the truth - that putting yourself in such a position of authority over children directly enables abuse (including sexual abuse) - is thrown aside.

after writing these tags on a post re: whether it's reasonable to expect people to know the population of Iran of course i had to do it so. have a poorly-made randomly-generated 10 country quiz where you guess the population of each country in millions :) scroll down once you have guessed to get your average error. are you better than me at this? are you better than a US senator? is this a fair way of measuring knowledge? not at all because with only 10 countries you could easily just get unlucky and get a bunch of "hard ones." too bad.
