┊ ✧ remi was killed by an ex-boyfriend, her body put on display in the aphrodite suite of the local bentley hotel. her throat was slit as an ┊  attempt to silence her, due to the fact that she was threatening to rat him out to her father, his boss, because he was embezzling from the company and refused to give her a share of the funds, even though it was her idea in the firstplace.

┊ ✧ despite the copious amount of money invested in the police department, elias kennison got away with remi's murder, but of course, her parents and elder brother weren't okay with the idea of the heir of the company and first born daughter being put six feet under, so they sought out a woman by the name of deidre morningstar.

┊ ✧ deidre agreed to essentially 'awaken' remi - but what they didn't know is that her 'purpose' now was to do as deidre demanded, bringing her souls for her to feed on, keeping her youthful. her first mark, elias. she paid him a visit in the middle of the night and released her pent up rage, stabbing him forty-two times.

┊ ✧  the artifact that is used to keep remington ( alive ) up and running is a binding stone that deidre has kept in her possession for many years now. it was handed down to her centuries ago from a lover that kept reincarnating his betrothed, after he deemed it no longer useful.

┊ ✧  if remi were ever to get her hands on the stone, maybe she could control her own fate. but for now, she's stuck in the clutches of an old witch who needs her to do her bidding.

┊ ✧  deidre's lair is in the back of an old soup kitchen, where she portrays herself as a kind and gentle soul, so that it looks like one is doing charity work when visiting the witch. the donations to deidre in the form of purchasing her services are a tax write off - because she launders the money through 'charitable donations' at the soup kitchen.

┊ ✧  deidre has anywhere between five to ten reapers active at the same time. it is against the rules to poach another reaper's client, seeing as how they are all set in different areas. her soup kitchen is located in various places across the united states, making it possible for dimensional travel between the realm in which it exists, and the real world. any of her reapers has been granted access to an address that will ultimately take them to deidres lair without much hassle.

┊ ✧  deidre is an old crone who's been alive for centuries by binding herself to the limitless life force of her reapers. as long as they continue to capture and deliver the souls of the damned to her, she remains young enough, appearing as if she's in her late forties - early fifties. her hair has a tinge of grey and there are a few substantial wrinkles that line the features of her face, but her beauty is unmatched because of her power, acting like a mark of seduction.

┊ ✧  she is a definite opportunist - manipulating those that are wealthy and are willing to sacrifice part of their souls to pay the debt that comes with her re-awakenings. the blake family sought her out without questioning her motives, and easily found themselves indebted to her upon remington's revival.

┊ ✧  they not only gave her an abundance of cash to perform her special services, but did not bat an eye at the idea of losing their daughter's soul in terms of the binding ritual. they would do anything for power - believing that their daughter was the proper heiress, bringing their family into the limelight that they so desperately wanted.
