I got into KHUX late, so it surprised me when I found out people were suspicious of Lauriam when he was first introduced. How could you suspect him? Doesn’t he just radiate kindness? But I suppose it makes sense if you only know him as Marluxia. 🌹

It's a redraw that came out too decent not to be placed here.

Huh, I didn’t know this place was so important. I figured it was just a lab or a storeroom.

"I'm afraid that you wouldn't understand them," he replies smoothly, shaking his head. Scents of rose and dirt waft off of him as he does, less the smell of a bouquet and more the smell of a freshly dug grave. Something both beautiful and yet morose.
It hadn't been easy for him to travel here, given that he could no longer utilize the darkness as he had before.
"Ven and I have...a shared history together. Given your surprise, I suppose he has failed to mention it."
Was the information purposefully withheld or... was Ven like Lauriam had been? Had he, too, woken up with neither memories nor purpose? Had he been trapped by an existence defined by absence?
He should have been there for him. He had promised.
"Tell me, does Ven remember his past?"

There are more than enough reasons to doubt their words, but in equal measure she could stand to believe him. Many foes of the light had joined the ranks, most of which were among the cast of nobodies -- former nobodies, shall she say -- not too dissimilar to the man that stands before her.
Ideally there would be no fight. Somewhere inside Ventus and Terra were resting -- all of them needed reprieve from constant visits to the realm of darkness -- and if she engaged in battle they would be sure to rush out and inspect.
All of the rationale she was willing to impart, however, waned the moment he addressed Ventus... with his nickname, no less. The surprise was evident on her face, before hardening protectively. There is still so much I am learning about you... Ven...
❝ Anything you can say to him, you can say to me. ❞ Her fingers curl into a fist at her side.

"So, this was the world you hailed from," Lauriam was a little surprised to see a fellow ex-member on this world. But, really, he shouldn't be. If he had even bothered to truly pay attention to those other than himself during his tenure in the Organization, he might have picked up on a thing or two.
How many of the original six members had been from the same world? It had been most of them, hadn't it? Then there were undoubtedly others here.
How were they doing? What were they doing?
Lauriam meets the stalwart man's gaze, trying to read into him. "It's a beautiful world."

❝ We're not friends. We just have a common interest. ❞ Riku says bluntly as he begins peeling the foil away from a stick of bubblegum. He needs something sweet and chewy to distract from the sensory hell that was this city -- not that the especially fragrant guy next to him was making it any better.
After popping the bright pink treat into his mouth, he offered another unopened one to him. They were both looking for someone Everything that happened prior didn't matter right now. ❝ Deal? ❞

“I never had any expectations otherwise,” Lauriam replies bluntly, but he reaches down to accept the stick from Riku. “You have yourself a deal.”
But, rather than start on it, he simply puts it in his coat pocket.
It was such a strange thing to be wearing this, even now. But…until he had his blade back, the extra protection it offered would come in handy. He hasn’t spoke of his origin to any of these people yet, he…
He thought there was no need to when he couldn’t use his Keyblade. All these people needed to know was that he had a lost sister. The finer details were frankly none of their business.

❝ This world is not open to strangers. ❞ She calls as she descends the steps.
Between him and the entrance to the grand hall stands a master resolute in keeping suspicious ilk out -- it was what her master before her bade her to do, to protect this neutral dominion, but little did she know this visitor had taken up business here once before... or at least the warped version she had once made of it.
Regardless, he would not be so readily received this time. Especially not after the affairs he'd persist to take up, and the unsavory crowds he ran with. Yes, she remembered this one. She would stare stern when she reaches the footing of the courtyard.
❝ So state your business. ❞

How strange it was to return to this place after all this time. He, who had so prided himself on being the Lord of Castle Oblivion, returning now to see that what he had so haughtily laid claim to was nothing more than illusion. He did not truly know this place, but he did know who was here.
And Lauriam understood that he may not be welcome. But that was hardly going to stop him.
“So, you’re the one they call Master Aqua.” His voice is as light as his skin, airy, but with an underlying determination that’s reflected in his eyes. He’d never seen this guardian outside of the brief moment they’d all locked eyes before battle.
“I am here on personal matters. I have no quarrel with you and yours. I was told that Ven lives here.” Lauriam says his name with such familiarity.
