when I was a kid for some reason I thought Lola Bunny's last name was "Rabbit" and that she was actually Jessica and Roger's daughter. And the reason she wasn't in the original Loony Tunes is just that she wasn't born yet
I mean can you blame me. Look them and look at her. She's got a good blend of both of their features.
daily reminder that boycotting is not a moral stance but a political strategy, so the whole “there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism” argument is not the gotcha you think it is
you can refer to BDS if you’d like a list of companies to focus your efforts on. you can refer to this website if you’d like to become more conscientious about what you’re buying and check for brands/products to avoid.
*please note that i am a palestinian who has been boycotting my entire life. do not try to explain to me in the tags or reblogs or replies what a targeted boycott is or complain about giving up your comfort for something that you (incorrectly) believe does not make an impact. being quiet is free. exercise your right to remain silent today.
I don’t get this dichotomy of “do you see them as platonic or romantic”. Yes. I will read a zillion fics of them platonically. I will read a zillion fics of them fucking nasty and/or in love. I will read a zillion fics of them fucking platonically. Free your mind. Nice dichotomy idiot what lies outside it
I finally watched The Old Guard and tumblr did not adequately prepare me for how funny the van kiss scene actually is. Like I've seen whole gif sets of Joe's impromptu love poem but that's not the half of it.
Dude are you sure you want to be making a homophobic jab at these people specifically
Joe: "Yeah he is and what about it, bitch boy" <- said with far more grace and eloquence
Nicky: "<3"
(This is where we give kudos to the actors for not smashing each other's teeth in when LAUNCHING at each other. Couldn't have been me)
Everyone is so taken aback they fully just watch for a whole second in, presumably, homophobic horror before all simultaneously deciding This Cannot Stand
you INTERRUPT joe and nicky? you interrupt their kiss like the football game? oh! oh! death for homophobes! death for homophobes for One Thousand Years!!!!
This isn't really part of the scene but "There's a TV, Joe!" is close enough that I'm going to add it. As an epilogue.
tbh Michael Burnham is an appealing character to me because she was a Gifted Kid who lived her life to please her parents who ignored her many self-destructive behaviors because she was Achieving(tm) and had an incredibly messed up relationship with her sibling then grew up to be shining star to the point of reaching supernova and blowing up her entire life. Amazingly social awkward. No game. Started dating when she was old as hell. Can’t figure out her emotions for the life of her. People look to her for leadership meanwhile she’s reciting children’s books under duress and is trying to reach a galaxy-wide record of mommy and daddy issues. A true legend among us.
“One day, near the administration and registration statistics in Tehran, I found a pile of discarded omissions, full trash cans. All were women born in the early 1940s, which were photographed in their youth. The astonishing variety of hairstyles - only a minority of wearing a headscarf or veil - reflects the variety of options that worn by women in the late 1950s and 60s. One can see a variety of classes and individual women of that time, shy and modest, up, confident and glamorous. When I found these photos somewhere in 2005, I wondered if these women are alive died, emigrated or prolonged passes. It seemed to me that the government is likely to destroy the evidence of our recent and distant past, women in these photos are opposed to the current dominant culture. I was shocked that these records of our society could be thrown away so easily, without remorse. ” – Najaf Shokri.
Not just beautiful, and the disastrous beautiful!

"why can't they just be friends" not in the homophobic way but in the "their platonic relationship in the source material is far more dynamic and complex than the sanitized personalities they gain as a result of shipping" way

in germany it's DAU (Dümmster Anzunehmender User translating to Stupidest User Possible), a play on GAU (Größter Anzunehmender Unfall= Maximun Credible Accident), a somewhat outdated term for a worst case scenario in a nuclear power plant
