the synagogue shooting happened 20 minutes away from my house and... i’m just at a loss for words. I have friends that knew people that go there. It’s just so terrifying how shootings can happen anywhere at any time nowadays. I really just don’t have words right now

How did you feel when you walked around the school? Did you feel a strong emotion of any sort?

just to clarify, i didn’t go INSIDE the school itself (a teacher i met outside said they were doing construction inside, plus i was afraid of being yelled at if i went in). but walking around the outside definitely instilled a lot of emotions in me. the whole time i was trying to wrap my head around exactly what had happened here, 19 years ago. It was so difficult to process. There’s a lot of relics left behind from the classes before 1999, which is chilling when you look at them. It makes you feel like the whole property is frozen in time. Plus there’s a lot of little memorials around the school and field. There’s always those small constant reminders. Its very sad. That’s the emotion I’d probably stick with in terms of what I felt being around the school. The whole event is such a tragedy from all perspectives.

I believe the E-C got deleted by tumblr because of the new guidelines.She made a recovery blog on here called @halcyons-sanctuary. However, She hasn’t posted on there yet.Also,I’m not sure if she has another site where she’s recovered any of her stuff. If you know of anything, let me know.

When I graduated this year my mother said she was happy mostly for the pure fact that I hadn’t been in a school shooting.

However my high school has had its fair share of threats. My freshman year there was a bomb threat. Everyone evacuated and sent home. Junior year there was a big shooting threat, kid taken into custody. Senior year there was around ~3 shooting threats and multiple times there was word of mouth that someone was planning something.

I’m sure I’ve forgotten some things that’ve happened but that’s all that I can remember for now.

How is that normal?

I did not go inside the school itself. But being on the property and looking inside the cafeteria was pretty surreal. The school seemed a LOT smaller in person than I had expected, which threw me off a bit.
