Things I’ve Said to my Puppy: Part II

In honor of said puppy’s first birthday and because you all seemed to like the first collection, I kept going. 

“I think you came from the shallow end of the gene pool.”

“Get out of the wine fridge!”

“No, I’m putting these away.”

“You’re playing with other things.”

“Get out of the regular fridge!”

“You’re a lemon. I’m sending you back.”

“Stop giving me bruises.”

“You can’t make babies with him. Stop trying.”

“Is that an ice? Lucky boy!”

“I just cleaned that; please don’t lick it!”

“You and I were not made for summer.”

“It’s too hot for you to be breathing all over me.”

Eddie watched her when she had lifted up the van. Damn that was hot. He had to not think about it so that he wouldn't have an unfortunate incident happen in his pants. It wouldn't be all that comfortable to drive over to Family Video with a boner. So, he grabbed the keys and smiled at her, making sure to focus on her face rather than anything else.

"Thanks. I appreciate it." He smiled at her and opened the passenger door for her once it was unlocked. "Right. Ready to go out and get that movie and snacks?"

Maia followed him happily out to the van, giggling as he threw the keys in the air, she thought his attempts to show off in front of her amusing, wondering if he realised she knew more than she let on.

"Here," she moved over to the van, fingers sliding under the edge of the van, squatting and then lifting, tilting the van up as though it weighed nothing, waiting until he had grabbed the keys and was out from under it before she lowered it.

Eddie nodded. "My birth dad went and got himself arrested after my Mom died." He told her and shrugged a little. "So Wayne took me in. He raised me." Wayne really had been the best person Eddie could have wished for to raise him. He let Eddie be himself and he treated him like a son.

"I wasn't going to ask." Eddie assured her. He hadn't assumed that she slept with random men. Yes, she was attractive. And maybe he thought about her when he was alone in his room after seeing her dance. But, now he felt guilty about it when he had realised that it was his neighbour. "I thought that maybe we could just be friends or something? Since we live in the same shithole."

"Oh...really?" Ala started to skate around in little circles, making sure to stay close to the trailer and Eddie in case anything happened. "The way he talked about you certainly made it seem like he's your dad," the thought crossed her mind that maybe he was Eddie's father through an affair and Eddie just didn't know? With what she knew about men she wouldn't be surprised, but at least Eddie had a parental figure, she missed her parents. "An uncle's better than an orphanage I guess," she said with a shrug.

"I know you saw me last night," she knew she had a very identifiable appearance, the bubblegum pink hair and almost child-like smallness didn't help, nor did one of her eyes having almost no pigment in. "I dance, but I'm not a whore," her tone was firm, clearly having experience with men trying to get her to sleep with them after work and wanting her neighbour to understand that she wasn't going to sleep with him for money.

i went to pride today <3 i got to meet Vicki Vivacious who was on Drag Race UK and I danced, bought some pin badges and just had so much fun!

Eddie nodded. He missed his Mom a lot. He really wished that he could juts have one more day where he got to see her again. "She had the best taste. She is the person that got me into music." He looked back at the guitar.

Lorraine was thankful it wasn’t damaged very thankful especially after hearing what he said to her and the way he said it. Even if he didn’t say it out loud she could feel the slight pain in his voice. She paused for a moment feeling awkward and out of place before breaking the silence,” you and your mom have a nice taste in guitars,” she said with a warm smile.

Eddie hugged her back and smiled fondly. She was adorable. He almost felt guilty about some of the dreams that he had been having about her. He couldn't let anyone know about that. The other band members had already started asking him questions and he had snapped at them a couple of times.

"Flavoured popcorn we can do!" He agreed and led her outside. He tossed his keys up in the air, going to catch them but they had bounced and fell under the van. "Fuck." He sighed. "Now I can't reach them."

Maia didn't look away, happily watching as Eddie changed into jeans, her eyes locked on his lower half. When he confirmed they could get snacks she gave him a hug, pressing her body firmly against his before pulling away, she loved eating with Eddie, he wasn't judgemental regarding her lack of experience with food and didn't make fun of her when she didn't like something.

"I think I wanna try a flavoured popcorn this time," she said happily as she slipped her shoes on, she made sure to bring them whenever she visited Eddie in case they went out, they fastened with velcro though as she hadn't learned how to tie laces yet and rarely wore them so saw no point in learning.

Eddie chuckled and nodded. He enjoyed those moments that he got to just spend with Ala. Even if they were brief and slightly teasing. He liked that she teased him a little bit. It felt flirty but he wasn't going to ask. He didn't want to draw too much attention to it.

"Sure. I can watch Theo." He assured her and smiled fondly. He liked getting to spend time with her. A lot of people didn't think that he'd be very good with kids but, he loved being silly with them and acting like a big kid himself.

"If I'd done it intentionally I would have just taken the towel," she said with a small chuckle, feeling comfortable and safe enough with Eddie to joke around like that, she liked him a lot, but she was scared of trusting someone to that level.

She looked up at him, "the sitter cancelled but I have work at the club tonight, would you be able to watch Theo?" The fact that she trusted Eddie enough to leave him, a man, alone with her child, was a huge deal, something she was struggling to accept as she felt she would never trust a man this much after what she had been through. She still had several hours before she would be picked up for work.

Eddie smiled at her fondly. He moved slightly so that he wouldn't be too loud and wake her daughter. He didn't want to be that kind of person. "It's good to finally meet you. I know I've seen you around but never actually been able to talk." He spoke softly. He didn't want to get all hyper and start being loud without even realising that he was doing it.

"Wayne? Oh he's my Uncle." He told her. "But, he raised me so he's like the closest thing to a Dad that I've ever had." He responded and smiled fondly at the thought of Wayne being his Dad. "He's pretty cool."

Ala could have died on the spot when she looked over to see who was approaching her, how had she not noticed him? Was he out there the whole time? He must have recognised her, right? Why else would he be coming over now of all days. "Uh, yeah I'm Ala," she got up on her feet, or rather her skates, and moved away from the steps, "move over here please, Theodora's sleeping and your voice might wake her up," she said as she rolled just far enough from the trailer that she could still hear if she woke but should hopefully not disturb the sleeping child.

She held her hand out to shake, people did that right? She was sure she was overthinking things but she tried to act normal. "I think I met your dad before i met you, Wayne, he's your dad right?" That was what she thought their relationship was, especially when Wayne had mentioned his 'boy' to her when they'd met.

Yelena normally let everything all bottle up. She didn't like that she was being pretty much expected to talk about everything. "She was one of the best fighters that I've ever met." She agreed and gave a small smile. "Maybe now I can hold it over you instead. Carry on some of her legacy at least."

➫ CLINT, in what felt like the first time ever, actually smiled about Nat. He remembered their first meeting, how she had him flat on his back before he even knew she was there, the Black Widow. How their friendship had it's rocky start, a very complicated middle, and then - Well, he just missed her. She brought out the best and worst in him, and now he could be there for her sister the same way she had been there for him. "Sounds like her. She was always looking out for the little ones, even if she didn't believe it herself. You know we were enemies when we first met? Well, on opposite sides. I was a pretty good thief and she is the only one that ever caught me. Took her a whole two seconds to do it, though! I will always -" Clint caught himself, before swallowing back the sadness that threatened to show itself in his voice, "I used to hold it over her head. Two seconds, that's how long I had her on the ropes." It felt better to have someone to share these feelings with, to reminisce about a lost family member. He wasn't afraid of being open like this with Yelena, they needed this.

Eddie looked down at his jogging bottoms and sighed. "Jeans it is." He decided and kicked off the jogging bottoms to grab better things to put on his legs. He smiled when she asked if they could get snacks and nodded. "Oh for sure! I think snacks are an essential part of a movie watching experience."

Maia watched as he looked through his tapes, curious what he would pick before he sighed and said he couldn't find what he wanted, now she was even more curious about what movie he wanted to watch with her. "Sure, you'll have to put outside clothes on though," she tried her best to keep the smirk off her face, almost succeeding as it teased at the corners of her mouth, her eyes wandering down his body briefly. "Could we get snacks? I stole some money from the elders again."

Eddie nodded and grinned at her. "An excellent suggestion!" He agreed and thought that a horror movie might be the best option. It would give an excuse that he could be a little closer to her if she got scared. He went through his vhs tapes and sighed. "The one I want isn't here..." He looked over. "Wanna go over to Family Video and we can rent one?"

Maia tried to pull her eyes from the reflection, but she couldn't, of course she had no intention of telling him she'd watched, he wanted her to close her eyes which meant she wasn't meant to see what she'd saw. She turned back around and gave him a grin that creased the corners of her eyes. She got off the bed, pulling her dress down to cover herself back up now that she was standing, "why not both? Maybe we could..." she thought for a moment, "watch a movie if you have any tapes," she suggested as she bounced on her toes a little.

"I've been ready for like ever."

"Yes, I'm ready." She smiled at him.

Eddie nodded. He went into his room so he could throw on some clothes and looked back out to her. "Don't worry. I know that you didn't mean to do it." He assured her. It was a small trailer. They weren't going to be able to get away with being miles apart if they were in the same space.

"What can I do for you?" He asked her with a smile once he had stepped out, fully dressed again. He would just have to not think about the fact that she saw him naked.

She couldn't help but smile, internally laughing when she noticed him looking down to check if he had accidently flashed her, she trusted him enough to know he wouldn't intentionally expose himself to her. "You probably should," she gave a small chuckle, Eddie was a nice guy, he really was.

She waited quietly for him to return, sitting on the couch as she waited. As he returned she spoke up, "I didn't mean to touch you, sorry," her tone was honest as she chewed her lip, she didn't like being touched without permission, she knew how humiliating, confusing and even scary it can be, she felt genuinely bad for having touched him even though it wasn't intentional.

Eddie nodded. He didn't mind that she didn't want to close her eyes. He had seen her turn around so he had tossed the towel on the floor and dug through his drawers to find some boxers at least. He didn't mind if she saw the rest of him. He just didn't want to do any mental scarring with her seeing his dick or his bare ass. He pulled on the boxers and looked back at her. Maybe he lingered looking at her panties for a little too long before he managed to snap himself out of it.

"You can turn around again." He smiled and started pulling on some jogging bottoms. They were comfy and he didn't plan on going out for the rest of the evening. "Do you want a drink of anything or do you just wanna chill out and do something?" He asked her.

"Society's rules are stupid," Maia was unintentionally very anti-conformity, she didn't understand the unwritten rules of society, she also didn't like the actual written rules either if she was honest. Especially when she learned that society would paint people like Eddie, and in this case literally Eddie, as a bad person purely for how they look and the music they listen to.

"Um..." she shifted slightly on the bed when asked to close her eyes, seeming almost uncomfortable at the thought of closing her eyes, and she was, she felt safe with Eddie but closing her eyes around people was a problem for her, it was what the scientists would have her do when they experimented on her. "I'll turn around," it was clear she had a reason for not wanting to close her eyes. And she did just that, moving onto all fours to crawl around before sitting with her back to him, her dress had slid up as she did so but she didn't care that Eddie just had a good view of her panties. "Your hair is all poofy by the way," she spoke as she waited to be told she could turn back around, though her eyes had noticed she could see him in the corner of the mirror, unable to keep herself from watching.

"Spend Christmas with me this year." Nancy suggested. She knew that her parents wouldn't mind. Her Mom was always inviting people over. "You're not a weirdo."
