I'm so tired of people saying let's not compare the FO to Nazis because it makes people feel bad. Even "Bendemptionists" should see it for what it is, but no -- it hurts people's feelings when you say Kyo Ren is a neo-nazi parallel.

I grew up with what we now call the OT. My dad made a point of telling little me that the Empire were based on Nazis. Darth Vader was the scariest thing to me. You know that scene in Empire Strikes Back when Vader walks into the Rebel base on Hoth? Nightmares for weeks. I liked Vader in the same way I would later like Jason Voorhees and Michael Meyers. Not, you know, like like, I became a horror fan, but was never like, oh, Jason is a sweet baby.

I find Kylo Ren scary on that level, but it's hard, because everywhere I look, people are saying, no, Kylo isn't scary. He's not a monster, he's the good guy.

WUT. No, that's not the message we should be getting at all. Kylo looks "pretty"? In the age of Richard Spencer, that's scary. The Neo Nazis of today have rejected the "scary" skinhead look of the '80s. Now they intentionally look like "nice guys." But they're not. An attractive villain is what we need, actually, but it doesn't take. I include Rian Johnson in that.

"Attractive" white guys with Neo Nazi ideology are not hot. That should be the message, imo.
