quick lowdown on merlin:

#2 on the blackleg’s list after arthur used to be a member of uther’s court until vortigern & mordred’s betrayal went underground for his own safety / the safety of those he kept under his protection spent the years between uther’s death & arthur’s coronation hiding the mages running from the king’s prosecution worked tirelessly to ensure that mage traditions continued despite their being outlawed, educating those new to their powers about their heritage even once arthur’s crowned, prefers to help from the sidelines & never get directly involved. enlists the help of those whom he knows he can trust / are capable ( i.e the mage / the lady of the lake ) favours a nomadic lifestyle — has never once settled in one place, even when he was uther’s advisor no one actually knows how old he is — he seems not to have aged since his days in court his magic is very elemental — his strength lies in nature, in the manipulation of the world around them can also foretell things that have yet to pass, but that information is something rarely gifted to another unless the situation calls for intervention / the individual has proven themselves worthy of such knowledge
