me, trying to figure out how tf it’s feasible that a boyo joins the air corps as a gunner, goes through all that training, is in active service enough to 'down at least 10 german planes' and then volunteers for an entirely different style of fighting as an original howling commando at the start of their campaign in autumn 1942 :
#* OOC.#granted apparently gunners had six weeks ( ! ) of gunner training#followed by three months of combat crew training#compared to easy's nearly 2 years#but still?????#even if he was one of the first to train i've gotta take some fckn liberties#if i'm gunna match up with the mcu timeline#( don't even get me started on comic )#bucky ships out midway through 1943 which doesn't give a lot of time#for junior to train / serve / re-train as infantry / serve again in italy at the same time#for him to become a commando mcu style#as they formed in that hydra base instead of being amassed by volunteers#as in 616#basically marvel are a Mess and historical accuracy is a Myth

that to be his DOWNFALL, for much-needed sleep was interrupted by coughing so violent breath had caught painfully in throat, air-starved body heaving up & out to avoid disturbing those inside. a few minutes had passed until he became aware of eugene’s concerned voice at his shoulder, fever induced grogginess proving difficult to shake.
