And so, the curtain rises
“...I’m not sure where exactly to start here. So I’ll start at the beginning. My name is Simon Stein. I’ve been working at Drew Studios for about a year now. I was a college drop out, working a dead-end job, and yet...Miss Drew seemed to think I would have a talent for art.
...I’m still a bit concerned that she turned out to be right. I should add something, I used to be a graffiti artist. I never really went anywhere with it. I had a small following online for my art, but I never revealed my identity. She still picked up on it.
I think they’d call it a Manic Pixie Dream girl, or something.
So that’s how I got here. But...maybe I should say the place that WAS here? It’s complicated. I think...I fell asleep at my desk. It’s the only thing that makes sense, anyway. When I woke up...something was off. The building seemed like it had been abandoned a while. The colors were all...faded. It’s hard to describe what exactly’s going on when you can’t even begin to understand it. But I guess you make due with what you have in these situations. The power here isn’t on. I thought it was for a while, but...whatever’s keeping this place lit isn’t electronic. And my phone still doesn’t work...so now here I am, talking to a wall. I...know it’s stupid, just listen to me for a second. A bit earlier, I was lost. My first instinct had been to go to the exits, but when I got there all I saw was...a body. It looked like it had been maimed by something, or someone...I don’t know. What I DO know, is that the doors were gone. All there was was solid wall. But then I noticed something. On the wall were these...letters. Words. They seemed to be left as advice, or something. Some were just...questions, though. So...now I’m stuck with a choice. I have no clue what to do, or where to go, so...I guess I’m going to rely on this. From where I am, I can either get to the break room, or I can go back to my desk and see if anyone else is hanging around. I feel like it’s hopeless either way, but maybe if I can find someone else, things will get easier.”
Option A: Go to the break room. At a quick examination you can hear the sound of pacing.
Option B: Go back to the Art Department. You can faintly hear the sound of singing from behind the closed doors...
Option C: Wait around and do nothing. Those shadows on the walls probably don’t mean anything, right...?
Option D: Ask Simon probing questions.
((OOC: Welcome to this blog! It’s a silly little BaTIM AU I finally decided to try and run. Sorry if the intro feels a bit rushed, but Simon’s fairly confused by all this. I’ll try to explain more here.
Simon’s place of work has suddenly become a nightmare world. Each hallway is longer, with more doors than it ever had. Each window is boarded up. Removing the boards simply reveals an empty void. If one was to step out into it...
The Studio’s exit is gone, and Simon’s phone has no signal in whatever hell he has found himself in. Simon is a bit special, however. He seems to have an uncanny ability to see messages left by the unknown...that’s where you, dear reader, come in. You will be able to guide Simon (And eventually other characters), or ask them questions, if you see fit. These choices can have a large impact on the direction the story takes, such as when certain characters are introduced, or more minor ones, such as finding a can of Bacon Soup. For now, there’s no immediate danger to your choices, and since the blog’s just begun, the first message containing a choice will be the one used to progress. As a side note, questions pertaining to Bendy and the Ink Machine as it stands in canon will be ignored by Simon...though a few characters may have some clue what you’re talking about. There’s not too much I can reveal here, but I hope this is at least enough to get some people interested.))
