When a small kid decks their shit and starts screaming, it's apparently useful to ask them "are you more scared or more hurt?" because they might actually pause the shrieking to understand that adults might not automatically know what they are feeling, and that they can and should use words to communicate whether they need emotional support or medical attention.
I wonder if it could be applied to tumblr. Asking shrieking people "are you disagreeing with what OP said, or are you mad about the way they worded it?"

If you put a dish in a dishwasher, it gets washed. If you put a shirt in a dishwasher, it gets shredded and breaks the machine.
If you put a shirt in a washing machine, it gets washed. If you put a dish in a washing machine, it gets shattered and breaks the machine.
Maybe you are not weak. They just put you into the wrong washer.

My husband (has cancer) is a frequent customer of a local family-run pharmacy. It’s much more personal and welcoming there than at a chain pharmacy — they recognize us and I feel very comfortable asking them questions about medications (husband currently has a lot).
Anyway this week my husband’s prior authorization for a medication was delayed and he decided he would pay the out-of-pocket cost rather than wait a couple days for medicine he needs to go to work. It was a $100 prescription so this was tough but not earth-shattering.
Anyway; the lead pharmacist noticed that he was being charged for his normally-insured medication, asked him about it, and took 50% off as a gift. He said every year at Christmas they have staff and community contribute to a fund to help people pay for medications, and whenever a usual customer is facing an unexpected charge, they can cover some of the cost.
Reminder to support your local businesses, build your local community!

Flash: Ok, hold up. What?!
Nightwing: Red hood was a Robin too. What is so confusing about that?
Wonder Woman: It's just.... A lot of things make so much more sense now.
Nightwing: Like what?
Flash: Well, we did wonder who the first Robin was. But it being Red hood makes so much sense. The anger issues should have given it away really.
Nightwing: Huh?
Wonder Woman: It is quite obvious once you see it. It also explains why Batman gave you the role of Robin. I mean, i can only imagine how painful it must have been to watch your partner turn to a life of crime. So he replaced him with you. And I must say, it was a good choice. You were one of my favourite Robins so far.
Nightwing: Wait, wait, wait! You guys think I was the second Robin?
Flash: Well duh. You've always been this ball of sunshine. Just like the second Robin. And now with the hood being the angry first robin and Red robin being the genius third, we now know what happend to all of you.
Nightwing: I... Oh god, J's gonna fucking lose it if he figures out you guys think he's the oldest.
Wonder Woman: Pardon?
Nightwing: Doesn't matter. What does matter though is that Redhood isn't the first robin. I was!
Flash:
Wonder Woman:
Nightwing:
Flash: Now hold on now! That can't be right!

Endlessly funny to me that I, a sex-repulsed aromantic asexual, have infinitely fewer hangups about sex and sexuality than the average heterosexual Evangelical. The thought of having sex myself makes me feel nauseous and I don't enjoy porn/most erotic content, but I am enthusiastically giving allo people who enjoy that stuff two thumbs up and defending their right to goon. I am pro-sex and pro-gooning, just not for me.
That's why it's also funny to me that a lot of aphobes and exclusionists act like asexual people are the ones driving purity culture and sexual repression. Like I'm pretty sure it's actually the religious fundamentalists who WANT to have sex/masturbate/etc but have been repressed about sexuality to the point where they think they'll go to hell if they experience sexual pleasure or desire outside of an extremely narrow context.

there's a jewish story about a rich man who goes to his rabbi to ask him about building an orphanage, and the rabbi is like "yeah duh go for it!!" and then later the rich guy comes back and is like "actually I've decided not to... I was just doing it for my own image and not coz I cared about orphans" and the rabbi was like "bitch the orphans don't care why you're building the orphanage!!!" and sometimes I wish I could say that to lefties who haven't unpacked their christian upbringing. sometimes motives don't matter!! who give a fuck why a politician wants to do a good thing? bitch the orphans don't!!

YouTube will use AI to monitor your viewing habits to determine if you're under 18 and require an ID for you to view certain content, yes even if you're in the US.
Now. I have some questions. Like if I watch kids shows from the 90s is that a mark for me being over 30 because it's an old TV show? Or under 30 because it's a kid's show?
Okay question aside.
There's legitimate reasons to have "odd" viewing habits. I for one have chronic fatigue. I've fallen asleep with Youtube's autoplay on and will wake up 3 hours later with the weirdest shit playing (sometimes it's kids stuff).
I'm learning 2 languages. I will watch kids shows in those languages to help me practice and pick up the language. (Muzzy in Gondoland is SO CUTE). But it's really helpful to watch shows that are like "Red orange yellow green! One two three!" To learn the basics like your colors, numbers, days of the week.
Also. Bronies... adults like kids shows. Sometimes they got a really good message like MLP. Sometimes for Nostalgia, I mean Pokémon is still going, and I watch that for nostalgia.
"No, but AI would be smarter than that!"
Is it? Is it really? Bitch if kids want to watch YouTube, that's what YouTube Kids is for. We don't need your 1984 bullshit monitoring our fucking watching habits.
"I don't understand why you're so upset. Just give them your ID." Because I'm a developer. I watch programmers increasingly use AI to fucking program their goddamn software every fucking day. And the thing is AI is really fucking bad at it. It leads to issues like the Tea app leak.
The Tea app was an app where women warned other women in the dating scene about red flag men in the area and they could ask other women if the guy that were dating was a red flag. That app had women upload their Drivers Licenses, and they recently had a leak due to shitty security protocols caused by AI coding causing a legacy database to literally be open to the public, with so security features to keep any old random person from accessing it. All of the data in that database what just... dumped to the open internet. Location data. IDs. All of it.
So, no... I'm not gonna me uploading my ID anywhere BECAUSE I'VE SEEN HOW POORLY SOME OF YOUR ASSHOLES CODE. And by "how poorly you code" I mean you don't fucking code. You just give it to AI and the fucking dumbass system wouldn't know a security feature if it punched it in the face.
Suck my dick. You're not "keeping the kids safe" you're exposing everyone to identity threats.

like ten years ago, i made a silly post about my leopard gecko and someone reblogged it and added their very long and graphic undertale incest mpreg oviposition fanfiction to it while saying my pet had inspired it.
when i told them i found that really disturbing, they freaked out and went on a months' long campaign where they kept trying to suicide bait me.
like three years ago, i posted a stupid text exchange my partner and i had shared and someone reblogged it and added their graphic our flag means death first-time-anal fanfiction to it while saying my relationship inspired it.
when i told them i found that really inappropriate and weird they freaked out then sent multiple people to angrily tell me to delete my reply because they couldn't have known that was weird. then they nuked their blog.
there's no moral to this story. it's just weird that it happened twice.

In theory I do sometimes think that like, egg speculation and forcefem jokes and stuff like that can sometimes be a little overbearing and pushy and sometimes even a little misdirected in a way we ought to think about more but in practice any time I try to put this principle into action and step in to say "come on girls, leave him alone" the guy in question always comes out with some shit like "thanks Alexa, they're always so mean to me when I'm just trying to do my normal cisgender hobby of making OCs that are basically just me as a girl and getting kind of sad for some reason when I look at them" and I'm just like come on man don't do this to me.

(Dick, Tim, and Damian playing two truths and a lie)
Tim: "Okay my turn now. Um? Okay."
Tim: "I smoked on top of the Wayne Enterprises building with Jason, I stabbed myself the first time Dad tried to teach me how to use daggers, and I slept last night."
Dick/Damian: "Last one."
Dick: "I was literally there when you stabbed yoursel-"
Damian: "We've all smoked with Jason on the Wayne Enterprises building, like come on."
Dick/Tim: . . .
Dick: "Okay my turn."
Dick: "I graffitied the bat signal when I was twelve, I crashed the batmobile and blamed it on Jason but he was killed like two weeks later so I never forgave myself, and I'm allergic to kiwis."
Damian/Tim: "...?"
Dick: "Oh wait shit-"
Damian: "...They're all true aren't they?"
Jason, jumping out from under the couch: "I FUCKING TOLD HIM IT WAS YOU!!!"
Dick: "HOW LONG WE'RE YOU UNDER THERE??"

personal headcanon of mine :)
batphone: *rings*
bruce: *picks up* commissioner, how may I help you this evening?
line: *silence*
bruce: ... is everything alright?
baby-tim–drake (who used the same detective skills that figured out dick grayson was robin to figure out about gordon's partnership with batman and the batphone's existence and then spent months meticulously planning out a way to access it just so he could dial it and hear batman's voice, not bruce's, not his neighbor's, but the actual batman's because, yes, there is a major difference, actually): *stunned silence*
tim: uh ... sorry, um—
bruce: who is this?! what have you done with gordon—
tim: *panics and hangs up*
tim: *fanboys but also fears for his life*
