Fantastic work in bread making activity this afternoon. The hour whizzed by and everyone left with tasty treats to bake at home! Can't wait for next week.

Mrs Howard, our Principal, is in Australia at the moment touring our Reddam House sister Schools. Mrs Howard was in Sydney yesterday, attending the Year 13 Valedictory Dinner at the end of their academic year. Today she tours the ELS schools ( 3 in Sydney alone), Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.

Great news in Middle School assembly. Another quiz from Mr Day. This time we had to stand up for the amount of debits given across the year groups. We are delighted to hear that the numbers of debits given for the term is 0 across Middle School and the year group with the most credits is Year 9, with 15 credits since the start of term. Good work all!

Our intrepid Gold Duke of Edinburgh group braved the trickiest weather in Dartmoor, describing it as "wet, just wet". They all completed their practice expedition and will complete their final exercise in the summer, after exams. They've been braving the elements for 4 days and are due back to RHB around 9pm this evening.

Bread making activity is in full swing this evening.  These Year 7s and Year 8 students had a ‘slice’ of the action and 'dough’ not ever 'loaf’ around. Congratulations to Benjy who is crowned Bread King in our quick quiz.

Last Friday the whole of Year 12 were engaged in an activity day to learn about coaching and peer support, to start planning community service work and some team building activities.  The afternoon weather was not promising so they stayed in to complete the challenge of Pandora's Box and  'The Great Wall'.   Each of the five groups had to carry out up to 25 miscellaneous tasks; as each task was completed a large house brick was awarded.  The tasks were very varied and ranged from mystery puzzles to the whole team standing on a bread board to dressing up in bin liner suits.  At the end of the session the bricks were collected and used to build a giant wall which was the representation of a major project.  There were a few holes indicating problems along the way but the wall as a whole stood up to the test of a job well done.
Apart from all the good lessons learnt and a few life skills it was a good excuse to make a lot of mess and have some fun.

Despite being the ‘off season’ over the summer holiday Lucy once again represented England in the girls under 15s ice hockey team. The team travelled to Kiskallio in Finland for a week-long training camp. A very busy schedule was arranged for the girls, which included a training session every day, four matches against local teams and other activities such as a sauna, barbeque and swimming in the lake. Lucy thoroughly enjoyed herself, and her hard work was acknowledged by the coaches as she was selected as the Coaches’ player of the week (see attached). On her return to England, Lucy then attended a trial for the GB U18s ice hockey team, and has once again been selected into the training squad from which the coaches will be selecting a team to travel to Spain in November and the World Championships in Poland in January.
Congratulations Lucy, keep up the brilliant work!
