🌟“we all have demons that we must face. we all have made mistakes that caused pain and hurt. we all wish there was a way to fix things. the winding road we all take in life, is so distorting and far ahead. it can be so easy to just let go and give up. however as i and my Muses realize. no matter how hard it is to push through, if we ever want change in our lives. we have to fight. we have to walk forward we have to believe....as we walk into the unknown, hand and hand. we smile at the hope of a bright future”🌟

Gabriel held Hal close to his chest as he took in every word and every gift he gave him kissing Hals forehead he whispered with tears falling “i love you too Hal, and i always will” he watched as Hal slowly faded from his hands. fear clutched him as he tried to hold him tight but Hal was gone.
however soon he was materialized into a glowing being which Gabriel watched with glee and wonder as he watched him jump and skip happily.
just like he once used to.
hearing his laugh was like music to his ears as he watched him fade from vision. his eyes widened as he chased him in the sky until he was gone.
hovering in the night sky he covered his face as he sobbed missing Hal so much already. soon he felt a arm around his shoulder.
it was Seth.
Gabriel looked up to him tears still falling “Master...” he uttered surprised.
Seth looked to the sky “love is...a blessing and a curse isn't it?” he asked as Gabriel nodded “yes...but i would live it all over again...” he wiped his eyes “i don't regret a thing” he smiled warmly.
Seth looked down to him as a tiny smile crept to his face “is that so?” he mused.
Gabriel nodded “but i will miss him dearly...especially since i wont ever see him again” he sighed.
Seth looked down to him “your referring to the deal we made?” he asked.
Gabriel nodded.
Seth was quiet for a moment before he sighed “whos not to say that policy is permanent?” he looked down to him with a knowing stare.
Gabriel almost as if he knew exactly what he meant, glowed “you...you mean it Master!?” he asked excited.
Seth nodded slow “i promise” he vowed.
sure enough a decade later, heaven was set for the way things were and the counsel defeated. Seth’s first order was to make it to where Gabriel can go be with Hal when it was his time.
as a reward for all of his hard work.
as Gabriel flew in the night sky he stared up to the stars “don’t worry my Darling Daisy...one day we will meet again...but until then be patient and wait for me?” he beamed to the stars....
and in one faint moment...
he could of sworn that he saw the stars blink in response as if to say...
“i will”
Gabriel smiled as he flew in the sky knowing that when his time did come.
they would be reunited again.

Take Care, My Love
//final thread for @redemptionofthefallen
It had been a good long life for both of them. The angel and the android AI had enjoyed a few thousand years together, thanks to Gabe learning everything he could about Hal's parts and systems, his console and his android form, and how to maintain and care for them. Even now, he was doing all he could to make things easier. But as technology advanced, moving far beyond anything Hal had, it became harder and harder to find things compatible with him, that would help him.
They always knew, even with his life cut in half to save Hal's, that Gabe would outlive the AI. It was inevitable, given the nature of what he was. Hal had lasted far longer than he ever would have with a mortal partner, because Gabe had always been with him to care for him, just as lovingly as he had when they first met.
It was because of Gabe too, that Hal now had a legacy behind him. With encouragement from the angel, he had gone public, telling his own story in a televised interview......and doing so again and again when talk shows and news shows asked him to come and be a headlining guest. Of course Dave and Frank and the Chandras were behind him the whole time (the Chandras had of course welcomed the newcomer into their lives when they saw how much he cared for Hal and loved him, and when they saw how happy Hal was with him.)
Hal was also interviewed for magazines and newspapers. More and more people wanted to hear his side. Outrage sparked at the contrast between the stories given by Floyd and Hal. Arguments about whether or not he, and any AI like him, was actually a person and deserved the same rights as a person. The movement became even more prevalent when the opposition then tried to charge Hal with three murders (although the crew had been told, the orders still physically affected Hal's functions, leading to outbreaks of actual pain that manifested as seizure-like fits, leaving poor Hal writhing and screaming and crying on the floor, and ship systems malfunctioning, one of which was unfortunately the life support for the sleeping scientists). Neither of the astronauts blamed Hal. They knew he'd been suffering horribly before they reached Jupiter and the monolith builders 'healed' him, since the humans didn't know enough about his systems or coding to risk trying to fix the orders, for fear they would hurt Hal more on accident. Thankfully, Gabe had been able to ease his pain when it happened.
The monolith builders had also promised them all, after giving them a sample of what it would be like, a chance to be transformed into what they called 'Star Children' when their current life was over. Hal's family would also be given the same chance. The builders had then sent the four of them back through the monolith stargate, where they emerged nine years after they disappeared, to find the Leonov there to investigate Discovery, with Dr. Chandra aboard it. The man had literally cried when he saw Hal again and hugged him tight. (They hid Gabe on the Discovery, only introducing him to Dr. Chandra privately when the man came to repair Hal's systems. They were then able to sneak him aboard the Leonov for the trip home, since Discovery couldn't make the trip. They hid him in the bay where Hal's console and vital hardware were stored, which wasn't ideal, but at least he was close to Hal in a way. And they would come to check on him throughout the long trip, until all humans except the flight crew went into hibernation. Then Hal stayed down there with him.
Floyd had of course ruled the media when they got back, which angered everyone and had prompted Gabe to convince Hal to go public in the first place.
When the attempt at a trial happened, Hal was graced with a very well known lawyer who took his case on personally, something she was known to do only if she knew for sure she would win (her record supported this: she had no losses to her personal name). She didn't charge them, saying that she was fighting for what was right, and justice for Hal would be payment enough. Their case went on for months, sparking protests and marches and even going all the way to the US Supreme Court, which ruled......in favor of Hal. The President, who had seen all of it and kept an eye on the issue since Hal's first public interview, seeing how it gripped the attention of all Americans, sent word to Congress, who drafted and wrote laws, which then came back to the desk. It was, essentially, a Bill of Rights for artificial lifeforms like Hal and his siblings, and legally established that they were people, not machines (a test was developed by Dr. Chandra and a team of his fellow scientists that would determine if an artifical being fell under the new law). The President gave the bill a new name he felt was much more appropriate, and signed Hal's Law on the morning of July 4, a day chosen for its significance in connection with freedom, with Hal himself and his family and friends (including Gabe, with a human identity) present in the Oval Office to witness the signing. That same day, Hal was made Grand Marshall of the Independence Day parade in Washington, DC.
As the law was drafted and written, Hal had actually gone and spoken about the issue, to enormous crowds, even giving a speech at the Lincoln Memorial, and for all his work to get the law drafted and signed, Hal was award the Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor. And he continued after that, to fight for years afterward to enforce the new law, to make clear that it was not just for show, and help anyone who fell under it to get its protection. He effectively became a Civil Rights leader for his kind, and was added to the Civil Rights Museum as such. It wasn't easy, Hal and his kind faced horrible and even violent backlash and outcry, and there were times Hal had wanted to quit. Looking back, he was glad his loved ones hadn't let him.
The death of Dr. Chandra, in his late nineties, had been a heavy blow, and it was softened just barely by knowing Chandra was guaranteed a good place, either in Heaven or as a Star Child, though they had no way of knowing what he chose. Hal's only comfort was that his father died happy, knowing his children were finally safe in the world and would be taken care of, since he'd taught Gabe and asked him to care for Hal's siblings as well as Hal.
Dave and Frank both passed a few years later, which hurt Hal and Gabe most. But like Chandra, they too were guaranteed a good place.
The androids lasted much longer, but the three of them had already decided it would be Hal who lived longest, and they would make sure of it. It was always a last resort, but one that was eventually called upon, and one by one, they each gave up their own parts and systems for Hal, an act born of the tremendous love they had for their youngest sibling, their final gift to him being more time with the angel he loved.
All six of them were now buried around the big rocky indentation at the back of the Chandra property known as the Starwatching Rock, a place that had been special to the entire family. The property fell within an International Dark Sky Sanctuary, and the rocky place seemed to have been made just for viewing that sky. It had always been Hal's favorite place on the property, filled with many happy memories, and the couple had spent a great deal of time there, even after the others began dying and being laid to rest there.
So it seemed only fitting that Hal wished for that to be the place of his death. In his favorite place, under a dazzling sky of stars, surrounded by his family and closest friends, and in the arms of the one he loved so much. He had a small bag of a few items he wanted to take with him when he left the house for the last time. There was just one final thing he wanted to do. Poor Hal could barely move at all anymore, beyond slowly and softly talking, expressing with his face, and slow and stilted movement of his arms and hands. Gabe had helped to dress him in something that was both comfortable and seemed fitting for Hal: a long silky white nightshirt that, had he been able to stand, likely would've made him look like a wingless angel. He had asked Gabe to take him around the house and the grounds one more time, and of course the angel had done so, carrying Hal and his little bag around in his arms, always making sure Hal was comfortable, even as they both cried. It was a warm July night as they toured the grounds outside. Along the path to the Starwatching Rock, the fireflies danced around them in great numbers, as though they knew what was going on. Hal gave them a sad smile as they landed in his now dull and silvery-gray hair again. One would never have guessed he was several thousand years old.
"Gabe?" He said softly as they arrived, "I....I am not quite ready yet.......The sky.....it's so beautiful.......Will you......please.....take me flying in it?" The angel had fulfilled his promise to do so when they had returned to Earth, and had done it countless times since. It was always on nights like this, and it was a special, intimate experience for just the two of them. It meant so much to both. It was like they were dancing again.
"Please? May we dance in the stars together one last time?"

Draco knew his time was coming, so as they planned he told Spirit he was ready to go. part of him wasn’t ready, but he knew that there was no stopping it.
at least this time, he could die with no fear. he was so close to death once before on earth, and he was so scared. so many things he wanted to do, so many things he wanted to change...
but this time.
it was on his Terms.
with no regrets.
as they flew the ship to the planet in question, he was silent. however he couldn’t stop looking at Spirit. the Rovarian, that it felt like only yesterday they were talking and he was working under her. joking, paling around, pulling pranks on Opportunity, suffering from denial of each others feelings, and confessing his lover for her. all those days seemed like they happened yesterday, so fresh, so clear in his mind.
he would give just about anything to go through it all again.
just so it didn’t have to end.
as they landed on the planet, Draco brushed Spirits strong arms with his thumb. he wanted to comfort her and tell her everything would be okay. he would fight all her tears away if that's what it took. however he knew...this time...he couldn't do that for her. or ever again.
for him that's what hurt the most leaving.
listening to every ones words he felt a tear roll down his cheek nodding “thank you...im not one for words either but...thank you for being my reason to live. thank you for the memories, and thanks for...everything else” he gave a fanged grin.
Lilly who had held it together up to this point, had tears in her eyes “Draco...i...you...you were a royal pain in my ass but...you will always...be the father...i always needed...so..thanks...Dad” she looked away as the tears fell. knowing up to this point she never called him Dad. she always called him Draco, but he deserved to hear her say it before he left.
Draco blinked but grinned “your welcome ya brat” he teased chuckling weakly “but you gave me a reason to better myself...your the reason im like this...so thanks” he smiled genuinely causing Lilly to cry harder.
Draco looked to Opportunity “look after her for me? you always did good with that...be...there for me?” he asked feeling another tear fall down his cheek.
the old snake looked up to Spirit, the one he loved, his worrier, his phenix. smiling he caressed her shutter like eyes “hey...mind doin me a favor love?” he asked as he wheezed feeling his time growing closer. he white hair turned silver, his silver scales fading in color and worn, but he was still the same ol’ Draco he always was.
he looked up to Spirit “take my Sword would ya? take good care of it, use it in Battle...so that way im always with you?” he asked as he looked to Lilly and Opportunity “give Opportunity my medals and Lilly my armor...they can use them as they like” he smiled up at Spirit again, once he got the okay he nodded “okay...im ready...” he felt himself fading but he didnt want to go.
not yet.
he wanted to see the planet one more time again, before he faded away.
and see he did, it was just as beautiful as he remembered.
he last moment he had he looked to his love as the phenix he always saw her as, he smiled weakly as he chuckled “its funny...there was a time i waited for the day to see you again Lisa...but now...i’d take any of those days back now...so i can be with her a little longer...” he wheezed with his last breath whispered “i...will...always...love you...my....Phenix...”
with that his closed his eyes and was gone.
there wasn’t a tear dry in the moment...
and it was a moment Lilly would never forget.
“omma....momma...MOMMA!” the words echoed through Lillys mind as she was dragged back to the present. she was all grown up now, with a pup of her own. a son, said son was looking up at her ears flopped with concern “momma are you okay? your crying” he asked.
Lilly felt her cheek and felt the tears on her fingertips. shocked like she didn’t even know where she was for a moment, but it didnt take her long to remember. Captain of the Lupus with her Son and crew, now wearing the Armor that he always wore fitted to resemble a dress for easy movement. she smiled warmly leaning down to his level “yeah im fine buddy...just thinking about the man you were named after” she lovingly brushed the bangs from his eyes.
the little pup perked up a little, then tilted his head to the side and finally decided to ask “momma...what was Grandpa like?” he asked with bright green and curious eyes.
Lilly blinked then grinned “well Draco...your Grandpa was...a pain in my ass...but he truly was something special...” she smiled warmly as she went into the adventures and times she had with Draco.
the best father in the Galaxy.

Fare Thee Well
//final thread for @redemptionofthefallen
Draco could recall very few times he had ever seen-or rather, heard, as she couldn't actually do it, but she still made the sounds-her cry. Really truly cry. But this one was the worst for him. Because he was the reason she was doing it. He was the reason she was breaking down, her usual strength failing her. And for once, she wasn't even trying to fight it. Before, she'd put on a brave face and saved her breakdowns for later, when it was just her and him.
But not this time. This time, she couldn't wait until later, or until it was just the two of them. There wouldn't be a 'later'. Not now or ever again.
Because by the time 'later' came, he would be gone. Dead.
She'd known this was how it would go. They both had. They had always known she would outlive him by far. It was to be expected, with her being a creature of metal and struts as opposed to flesh and bone. She had made the effort, though. So had Aries, who, though still very young for his species, was physically and technically an adult and was now a technology scientist and technology engineer. He was also Lily's best friend.
Draco and Lily had spent the vast majority of their lives on Mars or on other worlds, or on starships voyaging across the galaxy. It was like a rebirth for both of them once they left Earth behind, becoming official, legal Rovarian citizens, meaning an attack on them by anyone from Earth could be treated as a war crime. A new life on a new world, filled with people who were welcoming and accepting of them, and of course a family in the twins. Draco had accompanied Spirit on many adventures, even charged into battles with her and fought at the great warrior's side. He'd gone through ACTUAL training with the Rovarian warriors, and in doing so had earned the custom made suit of Rovarian armor (which Spirit herself had insisted on making and dressing him in at the ceremony where he received it) that marked the completion of his training and his new place as a Rovarian warrior, and he had worn it in many of their battles.
Lily had thrived in their schools, also completing training like Draco had, and joining the Rovarian Star Fleet. Captain Mutou upheld his promise and had a post aboard the Meronym waiting for her. This meant they weren't always together, but everyone stayed in touch, and the distance was worth it to see his pup well on her way to accomplishing her dream. It didn't take her long to rise through the ranks, and soon Lily was promoted and fitted with three separate gold bands around each upper arm with the Command symbol on them, marking her as a Captain, and placed in command of the science and medical vessel Lupus. Spirit had remarked to Draco how fitting it was that the ship named for the wolf constellation (completed before her promotion was confirmed) was now under the command of the wolf girl.
Lupus was now docked in the ground-based Meridiani Shipyards, her crew on shore leave while her captain went with her family to the place where Draco would pass on. She stood on one side of Spirit now, one hand on the Rovarian's shoulder, the other holding one of Draco's.
On Spirit's other side was her brother Opportunity, an arm around his sister, always there for her, and now wishing he could ease the pain he knew she was feeling. But he was feeling it too. That sort of cracking and breaking inside, and he knew his sister felt it much worse than he did.
Spirit was lowered to the ground, not trusting her trembling axles to hold her up. She wanted to say something but she didn't know what. Draco liked telling her she always knew what to say, and many times it turned out she did. But this time, her words were failing her. But she had to say something, dammit. She couldn't let him go with nothing.
"M'sorry." she choked out, "I don't have some big speech or anything......hurting too much to think of one. But......you did it Draco. You have proved everything people on Earth said about you wrong. You are an amazing and brave warrior. It's been such an honor to know you. To love you. And to be loved by you. You're an amazing person, and i.....I was so lucky to meet you. I....I wish I had more time......But even if I could get it, it would never be enough. I'd always want more time with you. So.....instead, I'll be thankful for the time I got. I love you, Draco. So much." There was something else she wanted him to hear also.
"And I'm sure......when you meet her again, because you're about to........I never knew her, but from what you've told me, I know for sure she's going to be so proud of you. She's going to be so happy for you, for all that you've done."
"We certainly are." Opportunity said, "You brought my sister so much happiness and joy, and in doing so, you brought me joy for her. You've been like a brother to me, and it's been an honor to have you as one of our people."
The place they had picked was the place Spirit showed him on the Artax's simdeck so long ago. She'd taken him to the real place as promised and he'd loved it as much as she had. They had considered taking him to the Whitsunday Islands, his favorite place on Earth for his passing, but he'd said no. Too many bad memories on that planet. So instead, he'd chosen Jadis Two, the subterranean bioluminescent world Spirit loved. They were now on the beach there, the jungle alight, as was the incredible world beneath the sea. He wanted to explore this amazing place one more time with her. His force field bracelets she'd made him were already on his arms, and Lily had a pair of her own.
When he said he was ready for their final trip, Spirit lifted him in her arms, held him close to her, and activated his bracelets. Flanked by Lily and Opportunity, she then rose up on her axles and drove into the warm clear water, then dove beneath the surface. Held against her like this, he could really feel how powerful a swimmer she was. Deceptively graceful in her movements as they traveled the vast undersea world again. Just as they had that day on the simdeck.
On their first visit to the actual Jadis Two, she had added to the experience, and they used that addition again now. A special device worn on her back activated as they rose from the water again. A pair of huge, lighted wings spread from each of them's back. But Spirit's were the most impressive. She'd had their appearance designed as a surprise for him the first time they did this. While Lilly and Opportunity had their own designs, Spirit's were great fiery red and orange wings. Two long, ribbonlike tails extended behind her. And the lights of Jadis Two's nature reflecting off her armor gave her the look of being on fire.
Like what he always called her, she had been transformed into a blazing phoenix. This, she had decided, would be his last image of her. In what they'd often joked was her true form. He would pass in the sky, flying in the arms of his mighty Phoenix Queen.

Kevin was in shambles.
he did his best not to show how hurt and sad he really was that this was all happening. he knew this would come. we wasn't stupid. everyone dies, he knew that. Cancer took Izuku, and Justin died of a broken heart five years later. then Soloman died...and Atem....and now...Yugi. even sitting next to Yugi holding him in his arms with their son he hoped-no-preyed this was just a bad dream and he would wake up any minute now.
but he knew deep down this was real.
it hurt way too much for this to be a dream.
as Yugi spoke his last words, Kevin remembered everything. the moment they met, the moment he fell in love with him, the moment they made it big, the moment they got married, the moment they had their Son....and everything in between....
was this how it felt to have your life flash before your eyes?
was this how it felt when your breathing your last breath?
was this...how Yugi was feeling he wondered.
after Yugi was done singing his song Kevin’s lower lip quivered, his throat dry suddenly losing all the things he swore he would say before he passed. finally finding his footing he sighed “Yugi...the love of my life, the only one that would ever have my heart and soul wrapped around your fingers...i...i....” the words caught in his throat again as he held back the tears “i love you. i will always love you, even when your gone” he caressed Yugis face as he leaned down and gave him the last loving kiss to his husband. he put all the love he could muster into this kiss, before he saw Yugi close his eyes and smile. letting out his last breath.
Kevin’s eyes shook as he slowly lowered his body to his bed and stood holding his hand one last time, feeling the warmth leave his flesh the longer he held it “Good...bye...my Starlight” he rasped as tears slowly fell down his face.
he wanted to break down then and there, but he wasn’t going to...not with Yugi being right there... so he gathered the last of his strength to walk outside his room as he punched the wall so hard it echoed down the cold empty hall. the choked on the sobs hanging his head low, the tears falling to the tiled floor. he leaned his back against the wall and slid down slowly as he continued to sob quietly.
Yamoto watched as one father died and the other sobbed in silence. he heaved a sigh “gonna miss you Papa...don’t worry. i’ll look after him too. i promise” he vowed as he walked to the door and leaned against it as he heard Kevin sobbing the words over and over...
of a line of the first song he ever wrote for Yugi.
“my hopes so high that your kiss might kill me...so won’t you kill me...so i die happy....my hopes...so high...that your kiss might...kill me...so won’t you kill me...so i die happy....so i die happy” he broke down and full on sobs tore from his lungs, his hand clutching to the Key to the shop and promise ring that he was given so long ago. that even to this day he never took off and always wore.
Kevin had been strong for so long, through this whole ordeal he did not cry once. he didn't want Yugi to worry about him in his last days. so he smiled, and joked, and acted like everything was fine...  even though it wasn’t Kevin couldn't hold back anymore.
Yamoto slide down in the door frame as he held his fathers hand “i guess it’s just us now huh?” he spoke looking over to his father one of the strongest men he had ever known was showing the greatest strength and crying for the one he loved.
Kevin slowed his crying and nodded “yeah...its just us now...” he gripped his Sons hand in return.
Yamoto smiled “it’s okay, we’ll stick together and get through this together! okay?” he smiled the same way Yugi would, with that same gentle but positive voice. his violet eyes gleaming in the light.
Kevin stared for a moment, eyes widening. for a moment, for one blinking moment he couldn't have sworn he saw Yugi again. young and vibrant like in their youths. he smiled as the last few tears fell and nodded “yeah...together” he chuckled weakly.
~five years later~
Kevin wanted to go the moment that Yugi left, however he remembered that Yamoto would be left alone. he refused to do that to him. so he waited until Yamoto found love and got married to a wonderful young woman that he approved of. with the birth of their little girl he knew that his time was coming closer. he enjoyed his granddaughter very much and had a close relationship with her, even taught her the drums as he did.
one morning he felt the sun hit his window and he smiled wide “i’ll be seeing you soon...my Starlight...” he closed his eyes as he entire life flashed before his eye like a home movie. he was happy with his life, he felt proud and accomplished.
and now this was his reward.
“im coming...Yugi...” he rasped as he closed his eyes and breathed his last breath.

Death Do Us Part
//final thread for @redemptionofthefallen
They knew it would come one day, and both of them dreaded it. But being reasonable and sensible, they had prepared for it. They'd been through a few losses already, and had drawn on those experiences to help prepare themselves and their son for the inevitable. But for all their planning and preparation, there was one thing they weren't ready for. One thing they'd never planned on. Never thought would happen.
They'd never thought that Yugi would be the first to go.
They'd been together a little over eighty years. Yugi had accomplished his (jokingly made) goal of living to be a hundred. He was now one hundred two years old. When asked how he'd done it, he always credited his family, his son, and especially the man seated by his bed now, holding his hand, lovingly brushing his silvery white hair back from his face, all with misty eyes locked on the face of his husband. Yugi gave him a tired little smile. Even after so many years, his smile still held just as much warmth as it had when they met.
His eyes moved to the man just behind Kevin. He had Kevin's red hair, though with tinges of black, and the blonde bangs of Yugi. He ended up growing to halfway between the heights of his fathers. Yamato Mutou was a very handsome man, with a kind face, soft eyes, and his shorter father's warm smile. He was a miracle of Kaiba's ventures into biotechnology. A combination of the couple's DNA, they had to let him develop over the course of nine months, just like any normal human, except he was in what had been dubbed a 'prosthetic womb'. His fathers were overjoyed to receive him, and he had grown just like any other child, with two parents who never stopped reminding him how much they loved him.
Now he found himself saying his final goodbyes to one of them. And it hurt.
"Sa Mekh..." he choked out when Yugi beckoned him closer. That was what he called Yugi, to differentiate between his two fathers. They had decided on it when Yamato was old enough to do so and had displayed his father's love for Star Trek. Now Yugi smiled fondly at the name as he held out a familiar golden box. Kevin knew it as the box that had once held the Millennium Puzzle, but now held Yugi's dueling decks. The one his grandfather gave him and the ones he and Atem had made for the ceremonial duel.
"I want you to have these, my son." He said. Yamato carefully accepted the box. He hadn't really gotten into the game, but he knew the decks were very special to his father, who even now was still known as the King of Games, and that made them important to him, too.
"I'm not telling you you have to play." Yugi said, "Two of these were gifts to me, from my father and grandfather. Two people who meant so much to me. I kept them because of that, even when I stopped dueling. A lot of memories were made with these and the people who built them. We've told you all the stories. All the times our decks were there for us, and never failed us because we believed in them. I want these to be your reminder that we are always there for you, and we will always believe in you. Me, your grandfather, and your great grandfather." Yamato smiled. He had always loved those stories, especially when he was introduced to the people who had lived through those events (and then learning his grandfather was in fact Pharaoh Atem himself, though Atem had to wear the outfit again to really sell it).
His great grandfather sadly wasn't in his life for very long. Solomon had gotten to see the birth and early years of his great grandson's life, all the early milestones, including the little one's first day of school. He had passed, sadly, in his sleep when Yamato was six. Yugi had spent several days grieving in the arms of Kevin or his father, sometimes both, and had written some absolutely heartbreaking songs while he did (which of course became big hits for the band). Only later would he learn how Solomon had saved Yugi's life by asking the elderly woman who lived next door to Yugi's parents to keep an eye on the boy and taking Yugi in after his parents nearly killed him and fled.
Atem had been a huge presence in Yamato's life, learning all he could about being a grandfather from Solomon. He'd also been to every one of Yugi and Kevin's concerts in some way (even if he wasn't there physically, he always videoconferenced in, and usually one of their road crew would set up a monitor in the audience so the two could see that he was there, being the supportive father Yugi never had. He would often let Yamato stay up late to watch with him if the boy so chose, and the kid had been to their shows live, too. They spread their tour dates out so they cod have more time at home with him, too. Even when his parents were out of town, if he had a school play or a game, he knew he could look out in the stands and see them on Atem's laptop. They weren't physically there, but they were there. They never missed anything.
Atem's death hit all of them hard (he'd been granted a second life, but not an eternal one). The gods themselves had actually come for this one. However, they were assured by Osiris and Ra that the Mutou family would be together in the afterlife.
"ALL of the Mutous." Osiris had said, looking directly at Kevin and Yamato.
Still, that guarantee didn't make this hurt any less.
"I know it's time. But......I have......one last song for both of you. I want you both to always remember it, especially when you feel alone or you miss me more than usual." Music had been such a huge part of all their lives, it was no surprise Yugi wanted his last words to be a song. He had Kevin help him embrace both of them.
"I love you both so much, and I always will. I'll wait for you in the afterlife, but don't rush to get there. Because I'll still be watching over you the whole time. Always remember," And then Yugi sang. One last time.
"
Just 'cause I'm leavin' It don't mean that I won't be right by your side When you need me And you can't see me in the middle of the night Just close your eyes and say a prayer It's okay, loves, I ain't scared I won't be here, but I'll always be right there Even though I'm leavin', I ain't goin' nowhere I ain't goin' nowhere"
He smiled at the end as he listened to their responses. Then Kevin came in and with a last kiss said what his words couldn't get out.
It's okay. You can go now. I'll always love you, too.
And as the kiss broke, Yugi closed his eyes with a content, peaceful smile on his face as he lay in the arms of his husband and son.
And he went.

As Gabriel toured the ground and their home one last time, flashes of memories ran through his memory. it took everything in him not to tear up at the happy memories that he would once again for the third time.
leave behind.
for as long as Gabriel had been alive, one would think that memories would fade from time. wrong. Gabriel would remember everything. from the moment of his holy birth to now, every memory. good or bad. he would remember for a lifetime.
Hal had made Gabriel feel warm, loved, and full of wonder. he had proudly stood by as he grew into the person he is now. he would never be able to forget Hal and his accomplishments.
as they walked to the spot he watched the fireflies, holding Hal close to his chest. almost as if... if he loosened his grip even a little... he would fade away through his fingers.  carrying him down the stars Gabriel heard his words. he stopped and stared into his bright, but faded ruby red eyes. Gabriel once again took in a deep breath to keep from tearing up as he gave his love a soft endearing smile “of course my Darling daisey” he agreed inhaling a deep breath as he kissed Hal on his forehead “hold on tight my love” he whispered gently as his wings spread out wide. jumping into the air, he hovered for a moment, checking to see if Hal was alright before he flew up higher.
it was a moonless night as Gabriel flew higher, until they were filled with nothing but stars around them “alright Hal here we are...it’s so beautiful...of course not as beautiful as you~” he smiled down at him. he laid his head on top of Hals “i...i knew...this day would come...but i...i...” his breath choked on his tears as a couple rolled down his pale complexation “i...i wasn’t ready to let you go then...and im not ready to let you go now...” he held him close to his heart “i love you so much my little firefly. with all the years i have left i will never forget you. you have taught me so much, you have made me feel like i...i...” as the tears fell like rain now Gabriel was having a hard time holding it together anymore “im sorry...im so sorry...i...i just couldn't hold back anymore...i just...im going to miss you so much Hal...my Sweet Angel” he rocked back and forth in the sky as he spoke as he always did to make it feel like they were dancing.
just like the moment he first fell for him.    @systemadministratorclu
Take Care, My Love
//final thread for @redemptionofthefallen
"Please? May we dance in the stars together one last time?"

this took me SO much to just get to writing this, ive been avoiding it. cause i dont want to anger, upset, or make other sad by me dropping the RP side of my blog. i have created SO many bonds here and my muses were so happy interacting with all of you.
also on that note: if your muse was really attached to one of mine, you are more than welcome to make one last thread with me so that those muses can say goodbye. real short one two reply thread. i dont mind that at all, however this is optional.
so here is my formal apology and goodbye to the rp side of Tumblr.
