Resolution

I don’t have a genuine resolution as of this time. I have a deep hollow pit inside me that is growing ever so slightly with each passing year. It grows wider as I grow older. It gets louder as my voice grows timid - not quiet, but afraid. Fearful of who I really could be, but only if I tried.

I don’t have a genuine resolution as of this time. I have this echo at the base of my skull, telling me what a terrible person I’ve become. A loser. A piece of shit. It tells me this on repeat for nearly 24 hours, but only every few weeks. And when it does I remain still and absorbent.

I don’t have a genuine resolution as of this time. I’m too occupied with who isn’t here and why they don’t pick up the phone. I’m not concerned enough with where I need to go and the value of good tread.
