Heyo sorry your art is super cool I just wanted to say that your coloring for PoC characters is kinda whitewashing like Magnus is played by a darker toned actor and often you color him and like a super light brown which just doesn’t seem accurate. No hate just wanna help you get better!

Hey! I assume you’re referring to the Magnus/Harry Potter drawing? Because I noticed too, after finishing the drawing, that his skin was lighter than usual. The thing is, in the original photograph I referenced, Harry is that specific colour, and copied that exact colour without giving it too much thought. I should have, and you’re totally right. You can see in my later drawings that since I’ve made sure not to make the same mistake (and I hope I’ve gotten it right. Not for me to judge I suppose). Besides, my book imagination of Magnus is a lot darker than Harry anyway, so it was a pretty clueless mistake to make. I think it is SO important for art to not be a platform where whitewashing happens (and this is also why i love UpTheHill’s art so much if you haven’t seen it you totally should!). Sorry this is a long message but the last thing I would ever want to do is whitewash a character and I genuinely apologise for it – I’m also really happy you pointed it out. As a white person myself, skin colour isn’t something I think about so I’m unaware of my privilege most of the time. Not who I am nor want my art to be about xx
