Red Swing Brewhouse
"Welcome to Red Swing Brewhouse, the new home of the Red Swing Family." These words are from Red Swing's Facebook page. The sign outside the front door reads, "Welcome to Red Swing Brewhouse, the home of the Red Swing Family." That may be a marketing ploy but if you're looking for a family owned brewpub set up in a historic building with open floor plans, then it's pretty much the perfect place to start. Red Swing aims to bring back a "brewery experience" while making it accessible to the average urbanite who wants to enjoy a quality brew in the city.
Many famous breweries have tried their hand at brewing and the next Colorado Springs breweries on the docket might be just the ticket to break into the beer scene. Some of the lesser known Colorado breweries such as Bell's Brewery and New Belgium Brewing Company (N Boulder/North Park) are getting serious about making distribution to the West Coast and should be able to offer great beers and distribution deals to the independent brewer. It doesn't take a lot of money to start a brewpub these days in the state of Colorado and the minimum capital required to get started has been established at around $500.
In addition to a delicious array of beers, Red Swing Brewhouse will feature guest beers from local Colorado breweries such as Bell's and New Belgium. They'll also offer rare, specialty beers such as Oktoberfest, German Weisse and Christmas Ale. The restaurant portion of Red Swing also offers beer samplers, wine samplers and food samplers. They've got a nice wine cellar as well that they regularly update.
For inspiration, the taproom is filled with original Red Swing merchandise. The brewery tours are fun and the windows allow plenty of natural light to stream into the taproom so you can see the fermentation process. If you're not into sampling Red Swing beers, then you may want to visit their warehouse in Golden. Here you can find an impressive selection of Red Swing products.
Red Swing should be one of the most interesting stops in downtown Colorado Springs. They have a wonderfully laid-back feel and it's hard not to stop for a while and take a look around. After all, who doesn't want to witness a world-class brewhouse? While it isn't always easy to find a place that provides quality brewing, the neighboring breweries such as Bell's and New Belgium are easy to drive a short distance away. That means you won't miss out on the world-class brews of Red Swing.
Hopefully, you'll be inspired to try some of these Red Swing brews as well as some other great beers from the brewery. You can do this in the comfort of your home by visiting the website. Don't forget, you can also follow them on Twitter and Facebook so you're always able to stay up to date on any new announcements or specials. You might just find yourself coming back to the Red Swing location time again. It's a great destination and a wonderful experience. Red Swing Brewhouse will give you the inspiration you need to start brewing your own craft beers.
