“Okay….” Raven said. Now she was pissed off. It had been already a week and her paperwork at High Tides was still not ready. Raven knew moving mid-year was going to be difficult but she didn’t think it was going to be this bad! Raven tightened her jaw and turned around too quickly and too disoriented that her head bumped right into someones chest causing her to stumble back a little as she quickly apologized. “Shit…I’m so sorry.”
@reed-westerly
Caught in his own little world-- the strike between the pair had definitely taken him by surprise. The force between their two bodies was evident, as Reed was forced back a few unsteady steps with a confused expression peaking on his features. His immediate thought was to check on the other person, not even pining the blame, he probably wasn’t paying as much attention as he should have been. “No no, I should have been paying attention, I could have ducked out the way or something.. Are you alright?”

Waiting for her coffee was taking a little longer then Hayley had expected. She sighed a little as she looked around at the people in the coffee shop and smiled politely at those who looked her way. Hayley glanced at her watch though and wondered if the busy place had forgotten her order.
@reed-westerly
Reed had ordered himself his usual, he was a regular at the coffee shop and once he’d caught sight of the barista she was already jetting off with his cup in hand. A caramel latte, was just enough coffee without the over baring taste-- he definitely wasn’t swayed by the thought of people having theirs strong without any milk, foam or syrups. He’d always had a sweet tooth, and it hadn’t stopped in his adolescence either. “Reed!” The blonde chirped, waving his cup in the air as his order was up. He shifted through the small amount of people waiting, muttering a few apologies as he did so before he extended his arm to take the cup, his eyes instantly draw to the platinum blonde blur next to him. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to barge through.”

“Holy shit, dude.” She ran to his side and reached out to try to help him. “You’re obviously not fine. Let’s get you to a doctor because it might not be broken, but it could be sprained.”
“Nah, I’m gooood..” His speech dipped from his usually instantly to high pitched as he winced, powering through his steps without cursing before he finally reached a seat. “See!” He exclaimed, holding out his arms to show his accomplishment-- denial was the best thing in this scenario.

She glanced around the room, wondering why on earth he couldn’t just sit down somewhere else before realizing that all the other chairs and tables were full. “Yeah, alright,” she replied with a small sigh, moving the offending object under her own chair. “Just try not to be a bother.”
Since Reed’s descent into the dark side as his father likes to allude-- once he’d turned his life around, moulding himself into the person he was today he approached confrontation in a whole different way. If you skipped back to his youth, he would argue with anyone he could because he liked to have the last word and prove his dominance especially if he felt threatened or wounded in some form. He didn’t always like it, but it was essentially a norm for him after a while, and it stopped being about proving a point and liking the situation he was in and his sense of power. However, now as an adult-- a responsible one at that, he was much more considerate and delicate of peoples feelings, he didn’t like to get in peoples way, and he was the kind hearted man he always was supposed to be.
Being a hopeless romantic, and a guy who was beyond selfless, he wasn’t in no way going to give this girl any reason to be annoyed with him. He just wanted to sit down, after asking politely for her to move her belongings and begin his studying. “Yeah sure, you won’t even know I’m here.”

Carter’s arm flew out to steady him as soon as he saw the wince, and his expression shifted from joking to mild alarm. “Uh, no, you’re not okay,” he stated, his voice leaving very little room for argument. He pulled the chair that Reed was heading for closer, to make it a little easier. “What’d you hit?” he asked, concern clear in his tone.
“I uh..” He began to say, wrinkling his nose as he shifted himself in the seat, trying to mentally assess the level of pain with what injury he may have obtained. “..Aww man..” He leant himself back completely and tilted his head back with a sigh of relief at his comfortable position. “...I caught my foot on the edge of the step and fell forward. It happens, typical me to fall over my own feet.”

Carter startled and backed away when the fall happened, then moved forward to see if the guy was alright. “Sure you can walk,” he replied, chuckling a little under his breath. “But can you walk well?”
In apparent denial of the situation, Reed’s eyes squinted a little as a shot of pain rain from the base of his foot up to his knee-- there was definitely something wrong with him. Clearing his throat he stood bolt upright, biting the inside of his cheek as he made his way over to the nearest seat. “See, I’ve got it down. No need to worry.”

kal-anderson:
Kal’s head finally shot up in annoyance, and while her first instinct was to glare daggers into the person in front of her, she reminded herself that this particular situation had been partially her fault. “Look,” she began. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I stopped paying attention, so if whatever you were going on about for the past second or so was important, you’re going to have to explain it again.”
“I was just asking you if you could possibly move your bag, so I could take the seat next to you..” He admitted with a short shuffle of his shoulders as he spoke, clutching his fingers tightly around the handle of his rucksack.

“Oh no, I’m fine.. Look..” He spoke in a tone that seemed to drop up in down in pitch. He placed his hands on his hips as if a super hero approach was going to mask his pain, and squinted his eyes a little as he took the few steps to the nearest seat. “Okay.. I’m in pain..” He finally admitted, exhaling a large breath as he tilted his head down.

“That’s the best way to make a good first impression, I’ve always found,” Kizzie said with a kind smile. “Like, when I first got here, I was doin’ a tumble for cheerleader tryouts. Fell right on my face! Got back up and kept goin’, still managed to make it. Think it helped to break the ice—didn’t mean ta do it with my face but, well, it worked out in the end I think.” She shrugged. “Think this’ll be a good story one day.”
“Yup, just getting my awkward qualities out of the way and laying it all out there. I have the ability to fall over at any time, sometimes even over my own feet.. That seems like a great first impression.” He shook his head a little, in a playful manner more than anything as a grin began to form. “I mean, how am I doing so far?” He asked, clenching his jaw shortly after as he remembered the reason he was sat down in the first place.

“Not a word.” Mags chirped with a good deal of forced cheer, adjusting the annoyingly large elf hat perched on her head and resisting the urge to scowl. “I was trying to do something nice for the little kids, and now I’m sweating like a sinner in church and regretting my choices.”
“I’m not saying anything..” He was trying with all of his might not to let a chuckle slip out, but it seems that it was too overwhelming with a smile that just broke free at the end of his speech. “Gotta admit, you’re the cutest elf here though.” He flashed his pearly white teeth before patting the top of her hat in a playful manner, pulling it down a little.

Despite his denial to begin with, he was willing to admit now that he could possibly need medical attention, or atleast some form of fix for the transition of healing. He wasn’t the type of guy who was considered ‘cool’, he wasn’t exactly a geek, but with his past of being a bad boy, he was now pretty much the opposite, and in his slight awkward qualities he’d learnt to laugh at himself, though try his very best to smooth it over when it came to girls. “What can I say, I’m a klutz. It had to happen infront of a crowd of people though, right?”

With all the territory that came with being a man-- funnily enough, acting like you were fine, when you were in great deals of pain was an essential. Though Reed wasn’t sure how much he could discourage his face from showing the reality. Squinting a little as he straightened his leg out reluctant he took the few steps towards a seat, his nostrils flaring with the pain shooting in turn. His eyes darted up to the red head with a sigh of defeat. “Okay, yeah I may need a doctor.”
