professor regulus back - r.b x female reader
Blurb: the whole castle is just waiting for professor black and professor y/l/n (your/last/name) to get together and with a little help from harry potter, they do Based off this blurb Word Count: 6.2k A/N: there is also jily, wolfstar, and minor mention of ron x lavender in here which i'm not sure why because i am a diehard ronmione shipper. anyways, this is just pure fluff. like it's just all fluff in here

This really wasn’t anyone’s fault. If anyone was to blame, it was really Harry’s. But there was no way she would ever blame the young child for outing her crush. Sure, she wanted to ask him what on earth was going through his head when he thought it would be a great idea to say the things he said, but she wasn’t going to blame him for it.
It had started out fine this morning, but she was unaware of what was currently happening in the castle that would eventually flip this whole day upside down.
“And then you flick your wand and,” he flicked his wand, “orchideous.” A bouquet of flowers appeared out of James Potter’s wand. The group of third years ‘ahh’ed and he was feeling good about it. “You didn't hear this from me,” the professor continued, “but this is a great way to impress someone you’re interested in,” he said, cheekily winking at the now laughing class.
“That’s horrible advice.” His head snapped over to the new voice in the doorway of his class. A grin washed over his face at his wife who was pushing herself off from leaning on the doorframe and entering his classroom. “That’s never impressed me.” The students were hysterical and Professor Evans had a humorous smile on her lips, glad that her comment received the desired effect.
“Lil-Professor,” James whined, knowing that it would take ages before his class finally settled.
“Do you mind if I quickly speak to you outside?” James gave her a quick nod.
“Behave.” He raised an eyebrow sternly at his class who were beginning to settle down, but a stupid grin was quickly replaced on his face as he walked over to meet his wife.
While Professor Evans hurriedly told James that she had accidentally left her graded assignments in his bag, the class happily chatted amongst themselves.
“Your parents are so cute,” gushed Lavender Brown to Harry Potter. It was annoying having his parents as teachers at his school, especially his teachers, but everyone liked his parents so really it could’ve been worse.
Except he really hated when people said stuff like this to him. He got it. His parents were disgustingly cute. He didn’t need reminding.
“Sure,” he muttered, before going back to pretending to write notes. It was much easier than having this awful conversation.
Harry thought that Lavender had realised that he really didn’t want to have this conversation and backed off. But just as she had finished saying it Professor Potter re-entered the classroom, after giving his wife her marked papers, and the class fell silent.
Harry didn’t really give it a second thought, but the rest of the third year class were obsessed. It wasn’t uncommon for Professor Potter and Professor Evans (who technically was also Professor Potter, but kept her maiden name to make things less confusing) to share a moment that students saw, but when they did it was usually all anyone would talk about until something else exciting happened.
This was why when Harry was chatting to Ron about their next Hogsmeade trip, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes when Lavender came up beside him and said, “Harry, I’m serious. Your parents are the cutest couple ever.”
“I know,” Harry sighed, “I live with them.” He had been hearing this from his classmates for the last three years and he wasn’t sure how he was going to last another four.
“Nah mate,” Ron said, looking over at Lavender before smirking at Harry, “she’s got a point, your parents are pretty cute.” Harry couldn’t help but roll his eyes again and give Ron an incredulous look. Him too? Ron knew how much it annoyed him so he wasn’t sure what game he was trying to play.
And that was the only topic they seemed to care about as they made their way to The Great Hall for lunch.
“Do you remember that time he was late to class because he had walked her to her classroom?” Hermione asked, causing them all to giggle at the memory.
“Or the time they kept interrupting McGonagall’s beginning of the year speech and she turned around and told them to stop giggling like a bunch of school kids,” Dean chimed in and Harry thought he was going to lose his mind.
“Does it annoy you, Harry, that basically your whole family are professors here?” Parvati asked, causing Harry to look up from his lunch and sigh. “Yes,” he replied quickly, but either no one was paying attention or they chose to ignore him.
“Well I want to know what’s going on with Professor Black and Professor y/l/n,” Seamus added and Harry’s head instantly snapped towards him.
“What do you mean Professor Black and Professor y/l/n? There’s nothing going on between her and Sirius.” They all gave him incredulous looks. They knew Harry wasn’t the most observant, but was he really that clueless?”
“Not that Professor Black,” Hermione explained as they all watched a look of realisation come over Harry’s face.
“Oh, you mean Regulus?” They all nodded.
“They’re always together and they think we don’t notice, but they’re always looking at each other.” Parvati exclaimed.
“I swear I’ve never seen one of them without the other,” Hermione added.
Harry was genuinely thinking about it.
“Yeah, I guess they’ve always been like that,” he shrugged, “even during the summer break they spend all their time together. My parents reckon they’ll get together by the end of the year, but Sirius and Remus say they’ll at least take another year to realise they both like each other.” Harry went back to eating as if he hadn’t just dropped a bomb so casually during lunch.
Every student in Hogwarts loved to get their noses involved in everything they possibly could. They were nosey. They were constantly asking the Professors about their personal lives, hoping they’d get distracted and tell them all the gossip instead of actually teaching. Usually, it mainly worked on Professor Potter.
They’d just have to casually mention how they liked Professor Evan’s hair up like that and he would say, “it does look nice, doesn’t it?” And they’d agree because they were being sincere. But then he would continue. “But really she looks pretty no matter how her hair is. She could cut it off and I’d love her just the same. Or she could dye it. That’d be interesting, don't you think?” And for the next fifteen minutes they would continue the conversation until Professor Potter realised the time. “Okay no more!” He’d exclaim, walking quickly to the front of the room. “We’re here to learn Transfiguration.” And maybe the students were only partially successful in distracting their professor, but they were completely successful in extracting new information about his relationship with Professor Evans and they were more than happy to let the rest of the school know what they had just found out.
Professor Potter and Evans were usually the most common targets. Their relationship was public, they even had a kid! But there were two other professors who the students liked to quiz. Professor Black and Professor y/l/n.
“Professor?” A student would ask and Professor y/ln was making her way quickly over to what she thought was to help a struggling student. “Have you seen Professor Black today?”
“Why?” She was used to students asking her about Regulus and so she folded her arms and sighed, upset that she couldn’t help the student with school work.
“Well he wasn’t at breakfast today,” they shrugged, “and neither were you, was something wrong?” They fluttered their eyelashes, trying to look innocent. But Professor y/ln had had this conversation plenty of times. Just today she’d been asked about Professor Black twice already and this was only her first class of the day.
“We were both fine, we just had some work to go over before classes started, now do you need any help with the work I set?” The answer was ‘no’ and with a quick huff she turned around and went back to the front of the classroom.
Her students knew that the one way to annoy her was to bring up Professor Black, and maybe, she gave in to it as well. She'd dramatically roll her eyes at them when they asked about him, and huff when they tried to change the subject from learning to Professor Black. But it was always in good fun. The students loved her and they would laugh and she’d shake her head at them because they were so persistent.
They would try the same on Professor Black.
“Professor?” A student would ask and Professor Black would make his way over to help the struggling student. “Do you like how Professor y/l/n cut her hair?” This had worked plenty of times with Professor Potter, surely it would work on Regulus as well.
Regulus thought that every time he told his students, “this is not an appropriate conversation to be having,” he was genuinely letting them know that this was not an appropriate conversation to be having. But really, it just made him sound defensive and even if his answer was, “how Professor y/l/n cuts her hair is none of my business, but it does suit her, I guess,” and didn’t really give them any good gossip to share, the way his cheeks would gain colour and he’d quickly excuse himself from the conversation was confirmation enough.
Because every student knew that there just had to be something going on between the two professors. Which was why, after Harry had so casually mentioned that even other professors were rooting for the couple to get together, the group of Gryffindors thought it would only be fair if they alerted the rest of the school. It just wouldn’t be generous of them to sit on this piece of information without sharing it.
Besides, neither professor was sitting at the Head Table during lunch and that only fuelled the rumour mill which was already running.
Professor y/ln and Professor Black were currently in Professor y/l/n’s classroom.
“They were just so restless,” she complained, “I wanted to pull my hair out by the end of it.” She was sitting on her desk, palms flat on the wood as she dangled her legs off the edge. “They just wouldn’t listen, I swear they just keep getting worse.” Regulus was leaning against one of the student’s desks. His arms wrapped around his chest as he smiled at her, listening to her complain about her first year class.
“Well lucky for you we have our break together today.” There was one day every fortnight where they both shared a free period and both of them were living in a cycle of waiting for that day to arrive, living that day, and then going back to waiting for that day to arrive. It was in the afternoon as well so it was like they got an early mark. It was the best day.
“I know,” she groaned, “that’s honestly the only thing that’s keeping me going.” There was a beat of silence. “I have my seventh years now and usually they’re fine, but they’ve been testing me lately.” She didn’t want to tell him exactly how they had been ‘testing’ her because it was too hard to explain.
But really, now that the seventh years were in their last year they were getting restless. They had started their first year with Professor y/l/n and Professor Black and they were sure that they would get together by the time they graduated, and yet they weren’t. So now it seemed that they were trying to get all the information they could before they left the castle and left the drama that resided in it.
“So have mine, actually,” Regulus said, for they had been ‘testing’ him in the exact same way.
“Oh well,” she sighed when the bell rang and stood up from her desk, “I guess I’ll see you this afternoon.” Regulus pushed himself off the desk and they both took a step closer to the other.
“I guess so.” Her eyes were wide as she stared up at him. There was a smile ghosting on both of their lips. It was obvious that they had feelings for each other. Obvious to everyone except them. No one really knew why the other hadn’t made a first move. Professor Evans had told her millions of times that it was obvious he felt the same way and Professor Sirius Black had told Regulus a million of times that it was obvious she felt the same way.
Professor Potter and Professor Lupin told them that the couple needed to get there on their own. And they would get there. Eventually. Everyone just had to give them time.
They were still standing apart from the other, smiling stupidly, and if it weren’t for a group of seventh year students entering the room, they probably could’ve stayed like that for a lot longer.
Regulus cleared his throat.
“Well I better get going.”
“Bye.” She smiled at him and he smiled back before he made his way out of the classroom. She turned around to face the few students who had walked in and found their desk. They were all sharing looks and knowing smirks. They probably should have felt bad that they had interrupted a moment between two professors, but they were glad to have something to spread once this lesson was over.
“Good afternoon,” Professor y/ln said cheerily, “how was your lunch?”
“It was good,” one of them answered, “where were you at lunch?” They asked, giving her a knowing look. They were a little giddy after the information had spread about the two professors from a group of third year Gryffindors and were maybe feeling a little brave about how they went about it.
“Oh, I had so much work to do, I just stayed in here and ate,” she sighed, “and worked,” she added. It wasn’t necessarily a lie. She did have a lot of work to do and she did stay in here and eat, but she did not work.
“Professor Black wasn’t there either, was he here with you?” Another student asked, a cheeky grin on their face. Professor y/l/n gave them a defeated look.
“I’m sure Professor Black is very busy and has a lot of work to do as well.” She deflected, raising her eyebrows at the student to let them know that the conversation was over. He did have a lot of work to do as well, anyways. He had told her so when they sat in this very room less than half an hour ago and had lunch together.
It was easier this way. This way they didn’t have the whole student body watching their every move. Neither of them wanted to explain that that was the reason they didn’t want to eat in the Great Hall, but luckily both of them were on a similar wavelength and so when Regulus had said one day, “I think I’m going to eat alone in my classroom, do you want to join?” She had happily said yes without asking further questions. Now, they did this regularly and blamed their work on the reason for doing so. It seemed it was one of the only times they got to spend time together without the whole castle watching their every move.
“He said what?!” Her, and all of the students currently sat in the classroom turned to look at the next group of students entering. “Oh, sorry professor,” they laughed when they saw the confused look on her face. The new group of students went to take their seats and the professor leant back on her desk.
“Who said what?” She queried. So maybe she did enjoy a good piece of gossip every now and again. She was once a Hogwarts student herself.
“Oh, nothing,” the student mumbled. She didn’t want to push it. There was a very delicate line between getting along with your students and getting too friendly with them and she was very conscious not to cross it.
“Well, when you say it like that it makes me want to know.” Her tone was cheerful to let them know that she wasn’t being serious, but the student only looked at her sheepishly. It made her curious, but she wasn’t going to push it, she had a class to teach.
Professor Black was having similar experiences.
“Professor?” One of his fifth year students called out while they were doing the work he had set. He walked calmly over, eager to help his students. “What do you think of Professor y//l/n?” While Professor y/l/n was a bit more relaxed when students asked questions about her personal life, Regulus could not say the same. He was a very private person and this definitely extended to his students.
“I don’t know how this relates to your work?” He queried, raising an eyebrow at the student and the one’s sitting around them who were currently giggling.
“Well we were just wondering if you were friends, it’s weird to think that the professors all talk to each other. Do you talk to Professor y/l/n often? I think if I was a professor I’d be friends with her. She’s so nice and funny, I bet she’d be great to hang out with.” The student rambled, finding it humorous how Professor Black tried to keep his expression neutral.
“Professor y/l/n is a very lovely person, we are colleagues and we get along. I also get along with Professor Evans, and Professor McGonagall, if you’re so curious to know. I get along with most professors.” He shrugged. He tried to make it sound friendly and playful, but it only sounded defensive. “Now, let’s get back on topic.” The students giggled as he walked away.
When that group of students left and the next group walked in, both Professor Black and Professor y/l/n seemed to have the same experience.
Halfway through the lesson when the students were doing their work a group of students were chatting noisily and giggling.
“What are you talking about?” Professor y/l/n asked. Hovering over their desks and giving them a confused look.
“What’s going on?” Professor Regulus asked, his eyebrows furrowed together.
“Professor?” These two students in each classroom asked. “Do you think Professor y/l/n is cute?” Regulus’ student asked. “Do you think Professor Black is cute?” Her student asked.
Usually their students were a bit more subtle than that, but there had just been too much excitement today. Firstly there was that little comment Harry had made at lunch and then there was the knowledge that they had spent lunch together and that they got along. Which really, wasn’t new information to anyone, but was still exciting nonetheless.
“Excuse me?” Both Professors had asked. This was completely unprofessional.
“Do you think they're cute?’ Both students queried.
Professor y/l/n squinted her eyes at them. It was a group of second year students. They were so young, they obviously wanted her to say yes. She wanted to humour them and so she smirked at them and replied, “of course,” as if it was the most obvious thing in the world and then she promptly walked away. She laughed to herself as she heard the students yell, banging the desk and shouting at each other that they knew it all along. She really hoped Regulus wouldn’t hear about this.
Professor Black went still. “I don’t think that’s an appropriate question.” He tried to laugh, but it sounded very awkward. It was the same group of seventh years Professor y/l/n had just had and so they were a bit high on the excitement of the relationship between the two professors.
“C’mon,” they whined and he started to think about it. These students had been asking him about Professor y/l/n since the first week they started and every single time he had dodged the question. He really wanted to humour them and so he sighed, pretending as if they had finally beaten him down.
“Of course I think she’s cute.” He shook his head as if it were the most obvious thing in the world and he walked away from the silent group who were speechless that Professor Black had finally given them some insight into his private life. He really hoped Professor y/l/n wouldn’t hear about this.
Both professor’s hearts were pounding. What were they thinking? It was a bad judgement on their behalf. Word was going to get around quickly and the other would probably find out that they had admitted they thought they were cute. Which wasn’t a lie, but still, was definitely a mess.
But they continued their class and tried to figure out how they would explain themselves to the other if it came up.
And word did get around quickly. There was still one last session of the day and not even five minutes into it, the whole school was aware that Professor Black and Professor y/l/n had finally admitted that they thought the other was cute.
It was a nice sunny day outside and so when Professor Black reached Professor y/l/n’s office in their free period, they decided it would be fun to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while it lasted.
They didn’t say much on the walk down, but as soon as they sat down on the soft grass, they both sighed.
“Today has been a weird day,” Regulus said and she agreed. It had been a weird day. Her students were a lot more pushy about her and Regulus, but she wasn’t going to admit it to him. “Students say the strangest things, don’t you think?” She was so tired that when she agreed with him once more, she almost told him about what her second years had asked her.
“I swear, they’re too nosey for their own good.” She shook her head and laughed. “They barely got any work done today, I’ve been so stressed.”
Regulus was resting on his elbows, his legs stretched straight out. She was sitting cross legged, facing his side as she mindlessly tugged on the soft grass.
They sat like that and talked. New students would say that Regulus was awkward. He was quiet and shy. Which, really, he was when you compared him to the excitable Professor Potter or the loud (other) Professor Black. But by their second year they’d say that he was still definitely awkward, but it just took time for him to be funny and get comfortable with a new class. Which was similar to his friends as well.
But he was comfortable with her and no longer awkward which was why they happily spent the next half hour chatting and laughing. Their eyes squinting as the sun began to set and their thighs itching from the grass beneath them.
They enjoyed that peaceful half hour together, which was nice, because as they made their way up to the castle they were blissfully ignorant to the shit show that was about to go down.
During that last period of the day Professor Evans and Professor Lupin seemed to be at the end of the students' endless questions.
“Professor Evans?” A student asked before she could even start the lesson. “Do you think Professor Black and Professor y/l/n are secretly dating?” That student mustn’t have been very bright. A bright student would have asked Professor Potter who would’ve said, “no way! If they were actually dating they wouldn’t be able to hide it from anyone.” And would have proceeded to talk about it for another five minutes until he would feel guilty and quickly redirect the conversation.
Professor Evans, on the other hand, was not impressed.
“That is a completely inappropriate question,” she chided.
“Well Harry said that you think they’ll date by the end of the year,” another student chimed in.
“He said what?” She practically screeched. And so they told her everything that they had heard had happened at lunch and by the end of it, Lily was fuming. She knew Harry didn’t mean to create such a mess, he was her very clueless baby, but she needed to get to the bottom of this to make things right and she was wasting precious class time in doing so.
Professor Lupin was also having a similar conversation with his students at the end of class. He really just wanted to go have dinner and enjoy the rest of his afternoon, but a group of students were giggling, taking their time to pack up and leave and when one of them said, “no you ask him!” Remus thought he would save them all some time and said, “Ask me what?”
“Well,” one of them said sheepishly, “do you think Professor Black and Professor y/l/n will really start dating next year.” He furrowed his eyebrows together in confusion.
“Excuse me?” The student repeated the question. “That’s hardly an appropriate question.” The students were looking nervous, but they still stood there, waiting for his answer. When he didn’t respond they explained what Harry had said at lunch and their professor sighed. Oh, Harry, he thought, what have you done?
“Professor Black and Professor y/l/n are two adults who can get to wherever they need to be by themselves and we should let them get there themselves, without interfering.” It wasn’t really the answer they wanted, but they still took it and went out into the castle to tell everyone what their professor had just said.
Lily immediately found Harry and when he saw the look on his mother’s face he began racking his brain for everything he had done wrong and yet, he was coming up short.
“What did you do?” She hissed at him, motioning for him to follow her.
“What did I do?” He asked cluelessly, trailing behind her.
“What did you tell everyone about Professor Black and Professor y/l/n?” They were inside an empty classroom and she had her arms folded across her chest, tapping her fingers impatiently as she waited for her son to answer.
“Oh,” he mumbled.
“Yeah, oh!” They stood there in silence for a moment. Really, what was Lily going to do? She couldn’t technically punish Harry for it or take points from Gryffindor. He hadn’t really done anything wrong, he had just done something really stupid.
There was also the chance that neither Professor Black nor Professor y/l/n had heard what had been said so she settled for a, “Harry, you really need to think before you speak, yeah?” He nodded. “And if they found out you really need to apologise, okay?” He nodded again. She let him walk out.
When Professor Black and Professor y/l/n finally made it back into the castle, students were making their way to dinner.
“I just need to go to my office quickly, but I’ll see you in the Great Hall?” Regulus asked, and she nodded. Watching him walk away.
“No, I’m serious.” She was walking alone to the Great Hall and there were students chattering all around her, but she couldn’t help but listen in on the conversation between two of her students walking in front of her. It was that same student who wouldn’t tell her who had said what after lunch. “He said he thinks she’s cute.” A part of her wondered who had said they thought she was cute. Another part of her smiled. It reminded her of her own days being a student, gossiping about who was dating who.
“And did you hear what Harry said about them?” Her ears perked up at Harry’s name. It was totally wrong to be eavesdropping on this conversation, but she couldn’t help it. She was intrigued now.
“Yeah, even the professors think they’re dating, I swear if they don’t get together by the time we finish Hogwarts.” They left the sentence open ended and for some reason her heart was pounding in her chest.
“Professor y/l/n?” She turned around at the sound of her voice and smiled when she saw Professor Lupin.
He asked how she was and how her day had been and once they commented on the weather he winced.
“I have to ask,” he said, “have you heard the latest gossip?” She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, answering his question. He sighed and explained what his students had told him. “I just wanted to let you know before you find out by a student, I'll save you some awkwardness.” He gave her a sympathetic look and she sighed.
“I appreciate it. Thanks Remus.” She gave him a sad smile.
She was trying really hard not to freak out. Not that she’d ever admit it, but this was all Harry’s fault. The students were always pushy, but his comment had seemed to push him over the edge. What if Regulus found out? This put them in such an awkward position. What if Regulus didn’t like her back?
She really liked Regulus. That was no lie. She thought he was handsome and smart and he was so nice to hang out with. And while she wasn’t brave enough to tell him this, she was sure that it was completely obvious to the rest of her friends.
It was.
When Regulus was making his way to his office he ran into none other than Professor Evans.
“Regulus,” she said when she saw him. He greeted her and when she stopped to talk to him he did the same, eager to hear what she had to say. They spoke often and they were friendly, but it was unusual for her to stop him like this. “I have to tell you something,” she grimaced and she told him the whole story.
Regulus frowned and sighed when she finished telling him.
“I’m sorry, I’ve already told Harry off he ne-”
“It’s fine,” Regulus chuckled, even if he was freaking out inside. He would never admit it, but this was all Harry’s fault. This put them in such an awkward position. What if she didn’t like him back? “Does she know?”
“I haven’t told her yet.” He nodded his head and Professor Evans bit her lip, wondering if she should really say what was one her mind. “You know she likes you too.” She did say what was on her mind.
“Really?” Regulus’ heart was pounding.
Regulus really liked her. That was no lie. He thought she was pretty and smart and she was so nice to hang out with. And while he wasn’t brave enough to tell her this, he was sure that it was completely obvious to the rest of his friends. It was.
“Yeah.” She gave him a tight lipped smile and walked away, leaving him to his own thoughts.
When everyone was finally in the Great Hall, Professor y/l/n and Professor Black sitting next to each other, as usual, Regulus turned to her and smiled. It was now or never he thought.
“I had an interesting experience today,” he smirked and she raised an eyebrow at him. “A student asked me if I thought you were cute.” Her whole body turned hot. She didn’t know what to say and so she told him the truth.
“Someone asked me if you were cute as well!” She knew it wasn’t a coincidence. It was because of Harry that her students had been so unsettled today and constantly asking questions about the professor sitting next to her. They both let out a laugh, both understanding why this had happened. “Well,” she bit her lip, “what did you say?” She wasn’t sure if she really wanted to know the answer, but maybe knowing it would let her know where her relationship with him would be going.
Regulus’ eyes sparkled and he tried to fight his smile, but she was beaming up at him and he couldn’t help himself. “I said ‘of course’.” She giggled at that, suddenly no longer interested in her food. “And what did you say?”
“Of course,” she said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Regulus hummed.
“Interesting,” he commented, “I think you’re cute,” he pointed to her, “and you think I’m cute,” he pointed to himself. “Maybe we could do something about that?”
“Maybe we should.” They both had a knowing look on their face, neither one of them able to contain their smiles. And so they sat there, in front of the whole school, giggling like a couple of lovesick teenagers as they planned their first date.
The whole school was watching them interact and for the first time, the professors blocked them out. It wouldn’t take long for them to find out they were dating now anyways. And it didn’t.
At first, they weren’t going to tell anyone, but they thought they should tell Lily and Remus because they had so kindly told them what had happened and so Harry didn’t get into too much trouble. But then, of course, Lily told James and Remus told Sirius and the very next day a bunch of seventh years walked into Professor Sirius Black’s class.
“I’m telling you,” a student said to his group of friends, “if they don’t get together by the time we graduate I am personally going to go up to them and set them up on a date.”
“That,” Sirius said, “sounds like a horrible idea.” He sat on one of the desks close to them and folded his arms across his chest.
“You don’t even know who we’re talking about,” one of them said.
“Well I won’t if you don’t tell me.”
“Professor Black and Professor y/l/n.” Sirius’ eyes sparkled. Sirius loved to gossip with his class and he knew what he was doing. He was probably the only teacher the students wouldn’t get in trouble from for gossiping, if anything, he would only encourage it. He was the one who was always planting ideas in his students' heads.
“Okay,” he would say one day to his first years, very early on in the year, “did anyone else notice that Professor Black and Professor y/l/n couldn’t stop looking at each other at breakfast?”
And maybe the students would have realised there was something going on between the two professors by themselves, but they realised a lot quicker with the help of Sirius.
It was all in good fun, Sirius thought. The two professors just needed a push and he hoped that the students would provide that. It was his brother, he just wanted the best for him.
“Well,” he whispered, leaning in closer to them, “you didn’t hear this from me, but they’re going on their first date on the next Hogsmeade trip.” He winked at them and then stood up and walked back to the front of the classroom, revelling in the squeals of delight and shouts of finally’ from the group of seventh years.
Surely, there had to be a record for the quickest time a piece of gossip spread around Hogwarts, but whatever it was, it had to have been beaten by this news. By the time the session was over it seemed the whole school knew. Which was exceptional considering Professor Black had only let one student out to go to the bathroom.
Professor Black and Professor y/l/n knew that the whole school would eventually find out and they took it in stride.
“You’re finally dating!” A group of students cheered during the next session and Professor y/l/n rolled her eyes. That didn’t take long.
“We haven’t even gone on a first date yet,” she exclaimed.
“Can we come with you?” One of her students asked.
“Definitely not.”
“We all knew you’d eventually get together.” One of Professor Black’s students said and this time, Regulus didn’t remind them that this was an inappropriate conversation.
“Will you get off our backs now?” Regulus asked, letting out a small chuckle.
“Definitely not.”
And they didn’t. The students only began asking more questions. Cooing whenever Regulus would walk her to class, their eyes never leaving the two when they would chat at the Head Table in hopes they would catch some romantic moment between the two professors, and, of course, begging them to tell them everything that happened on their dates.
So really, they couldn’t blame Harry. If anything, they really had to thank him, but Lily and James were not too keen on that idea. He didn’t need any encouragement, and really, he didn’t.
“You know,” Harry said one morning while his friends were talking about Professor Black and Professor y/l/n, “if it wasn’t for what I said, they would never have gotten together.”
“I want to tell you that you shouldn’t have been so clueless,” Hermione said, “but I'm also really glad they’re together.”
“So,” Lavender started, “do you have any more information on the professors?”
“Well,” Harry really should have learnt from the first time, but unfortunately he didn’t, “I think Remus and Sirius are going to get married soon, but-”
“Wait, Professor Lupin and Professor Black are dating?”

Nearly everyone owns a car driven by an artificial intelligence- Most of them even have personalities. You, however, do not own a car. And many sentient vehicles, seeking purpose, are now fighting to become *your* transportation method of choice.

As the flames licked the feet of the woman on the pyre, she cried out. Not in pain, but in sadness and anger. “I protected this town against the evils in this world! And this is how you repay me? I loved you all, I did!”

You and the Devil sit down for a game of chess. If he wins, he takes your soul. If you win, you take control of Hell. As the Devil prepares his first move, he simply smiles and knocks over his king. “You win.”

it is time
thank you for 26K followers! my last milestone celebrations were basically nonexistent so i decided to actually do something this time – winter blog aesthetics!
rules:
send me an ask with a ❄️ emoji or a [winter ba] note if you're too lazy to search for emojis
tell me about something you're looking forward to! could be anything, food, your birthday, going to sleep.
tell me your url if you want it for a sideblog. you don't have to be a studyblr (i'm in many fandoms too), but it'll be a bit easier if i understand what you blog about a tiny bit lol
it'd be nice if you follow me, but as always, i'm not going to check.
it'd also be nice if you reblogged this, but i'm not going to check that either.
what you'll get:
maybe a follow bc i always love finding new mutuals!
a tiny cozy autumn/winter aesthetic (side note: sometimes there may be christmas references like christmas markets or decorations. if you don't want any in yours, let me know in the ask!)
hopefully some cozy vibes! :)
thanks again for 26K! <3 i've made some great friends on here and i'm glad you guys stuck around. :)
