I headcanon that Saeko is raising Tanaka alone after a falling out with their parents. Akiteru finds out and attempts to help them, often coming by the house to drop off food or help fix things. The two of them end up getting really close, but Saeko doesn't think he'll fall for someone like her (an ex-delinquent and practically a single parent) so she suffers silently until he asks her out. -BAKK anon
