So, I rushed through The Magnus Archives in 2 weeks a month ago and now I made an animatic of the funny scene in MAG#181! There wasn´t one for it online and that made me so sad I went ahead and tried out a whole new form of art what-

I recently finished The Magnus Archives for the first time and I have SO MANY thoughts that I will be sharing, the first being that I really really love Jonathan Sims.

He was a "deeply annoying child" that grew into a deeply annoying adult (I say this fondly) that grew into a man full of so much softness and love despite circumstances that could have just made him more sharp and bitter if he had let them.

He thought his coworkers were out to get him but he still fought so hard to keep them safe because it was the right thing to do and he couldn't stand the thought of losing them.

He lost so many people anyways and started to lose himself too, and instead of helping him, the people he should have been able to trust hated him and threatened him and ignored him (he trusted Martin in his absence but it still must have hurt.)

He risked his life over and over in a continued attempt to protect those who still remained because they mattered and he didn't and he couldn't stand to lose anyone else.

He brought about the apocalypse through no fault of his own but he could never bring himself to believe Martin when he told him so. He was still loath to kill even when he finally had the power to fight back (except for, on a couple occasions, those that had hurt him, but after everything, I think he had earned the right to be a bit petty.)

He wanted to martyr himself because he was desperate to atone for something (so many things) that wasn't his fault, and yeah, he made some terrible decisions, but how do you make a good one when you're in the position he was in? When you're hated and hunted and manipulated and living in constant terror, how often is a good option even presented?

He got his opportunity to give himself for the world(s) and took it without hesitation, then threw it all away and put those hypothetical other universes he had been so desperate to protect at risk just for the chance to be with Martin again somewhere else.

In all of this, he never truly lost his humanity despite every single odd being stacked against him.

He was kind and cruel and petty and selfless. He loved cats. He was a certified yapper. He had to clarify if someone was joking. He was abused and tortured and broken down but that never stopped him from being Jon.

I'm sure a lot of this has already been said but I had to release it somewhere because he means so much to me and I will never be over him.
