Aang's desire and will to protect his personal beliefs and preserve the teachings of his culture gave him the energy and drive to seek the ending that he desired, just like the power of fire.

Aang's hope for a better solution was strong, persistent, and enduring even when the people who he sought support from pushed him to kill Ozai, just like the substance of earth.

Aang detached himself from the judgement of others, finding peace from his dilemma, just like the freedom of air.

In the end, Aang's sense of community and love for the family he lost, the family he gained, and a world that he had to rapidly adapt to held them through everything. It marked the start of a new era in the flow of time, just like the change of water.

PSA: DON’T DO THIS SHIT

This is a terrible idea for a few reasons.

Riot shields are super heavy and if you try to grab one without wearing anything to protect your hands, your fingers are gonna get crushed.

The cops aren’t just going to let you grab their shit. Unless you have a physique like Brock Lesnar and you know how to fight somebody dressed up in full riot gear, if you try this, you are absolutely going to get your ass kicked.

Even if you are able to knock the cop to the ground, chances are you’ll be flanked by at least two of their comrades. 

I get that the person who made this post had good intentions, and all they wanted to do was find ways to help the protesters fight back against cops, but that doesn’t make this okay. There are probably a bunch of people who have read this post and are planning on pulling this stunt at the next protest they go to. Every single one of those people will at best get beaten within an inch of their lives and thrown in jail, and at worst get beaten to death. To quote @sam_kriss on twitter: “Don’t give advice that will kill people.”

National Guard shot and killed David McAtee, a beloved community figure known to give police officers free meals at his BBQ restaurant.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville’s police chief was fired Monday after the mayor learned that officers involved in a shooting that killed the popular owner of a barbecue spot failed to activate body cameras during the chaotic scene.

David McAtee, known for offering meals to police officers, died early Monday while police officers and National Guard soldiers were enforcing a curfew. Police claim that they were returning fire after the crowd began shooting, but bystanders and witnesses discounted the polices version of events saying that the crowd was not protesting when the police arrived and no one was carrying a weapon.

After the shooting, McAtee’s body was left out on the streets for 12 hours before finally being transported.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer revealed that authorities lacked body camera video for the investigation just hours after Kentucky’s governor demanded the release of police video. “This type of institutional failure will not be tolerated,” Fischer said. “Accordingly, I have relieved Steve Conrad of his duties as chief of Louisville Metro Police Department.”

This only after the officer had already previously announced his retirement. it is unclear whether charges will be pressed.

Hey folks, this is not your typical post about incorrect quotes.

I want to address a serious issue today, and most of you probably know what’s been going on in the US.

The killing of George Floyd started another serious and necessary debate on Police brutality in the states. (And I think not just there. Every country is affected in some way or another.)

My heart doesn’t ache, no. My heart is bleeding and crying out of pain about what has been going on for days now. What people have been going through for years and years. This is not the first case of police brutality against POC, nor the second, and it probably isn’t the last one.

It happened so many times already that I can’t count them all. Our world has lost so many beautiful souls to this never-ending issue. Additionally to this, we lost so many brothers and sisters of color who were part of the LGBTQ+ community too. Even though it is pride month, I can’t enjoy and celebrate it as much as I want to.

But now is the time to act. Now more than ever! We all have a voice, and I’m sure as hell using mine. And I want you to do the same.

I was aware of Trump’s whole being a sexist, homophobic, racist asshole thing, but to think that he is on his way to making America a new Nazi Germany fucking terrifies me.

I used to make jokes about wanting to leave the US and never come back, but now I am actually considering it. I no longer want to live in a country where peaceful, compliant protestors are shot, ran over, and trampled on. I no longer want to live in a country where the president is completely untrustworthy. I no longer want to live in a country where health policy is in the hands of people who put business over human lives. I no longer want to live in a country where I’m scared to death of the government that is supposed to protect their citizens. In the U.S., where the last words of the pledge of allegiance are “liberty and justice for all,” the people who are protected by law enforcement and the “justice” system are cherry picked.

The rich get it all and the rest are left to pick up the scraps. POC die everyday because groups like the KKK are treated like exercisers of “free speech,” and the government is practically defending them.

America, what the fuck. We’ve back tracked, and I don’t know if we can catch back up without destroying the whole system. Fuck 12. Fuck the government. Someone plan a coup’detat and give us back to the fucking English PLEASE.

US Holocaust Museum’s “early warning signs of fascism” sign is going viral

The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum wants to make sure that fascism doesn’t make a comeback. 

A Twitter user snapped a shot of a poster from somewhere inside the Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. 

Judging by dollar sign symbol in the lower right hand corner, the sign looks to be a poster for sale. 

The poster is derived from a 2003 article detailing the potential warning signs of an incoming fascist regime. Read more.
