Start of Something New

Based off the long, long headcanon I have of how Reiji and Ranmaru met and how they (kinda) got together.

This fic takes place during their Marriage/I’m Your Life photoshoot, a few years after QUARTET NIGHT was formed.

Sure has been a while. Picture this: Ranmaru trying to get Reiji to tell him what's wrong before they started dating, because due to his own depression he can tell Reiji's holding some type of baggage. At first Reiji adamantly denies anything is wrong but when tries to walk away, Ranmaru says the magic words he never admits. "I'm worried about you Reiji." Which leads to Reiji's act dropping and he just begins crying for the first time in so long. This was the start of their journey into love.

You are destroying me but it feels incredibly good so don't worry and keep going.

The hurt/comfort RanRei content is what I live for, and I can totally see Ranmaru doing this, especially after Reiji what has done for him and the rest of QN.

I could spend hours writing Ranmaru's introspection in this particular situation, but I feel like it's something I already talked about and I feel like I would only bother you (and the rest of my followers) with this content 🙈

Anyway, I completely agree with you. I can totally see Ranmaru paying more attention on Reiji and trying to understand when he's slowly reaching his limit. Also, another thing I love to imagine is Ranmaru asking to him why he always tries to hide things from everyone and shoulder everything by himself (which is a trait they have in common) and Reiji initially tries to do the same as always, like minimizing the situation and joking about it, but when he sees the serious look on Ranmaru's face, he feels like he can't really lie to him. So he just sighs and says "I wonder why I always let you see my pitiful self in the end", and little by little starts to tell him things starting from his childhood, that influenced his way of facing difficulties in life.

I don't want to make this answer too long, and probably I'll make another post about how Reiji sees Ranmaru and why thanks to this he's more willing to let Ranmaru see the sides he tends to usually suppress/hide from others. But yeah, overall I'm extremely emotional at the moment.

So, that song from Given? The one Mafuyu sings, Fuyu no Hanashi? Look. At the English lyrics of that song. It suits Reiji's feelings towards falling in love with Ranmaru so much it hurts. The good kind of hurt though! ♡♡♡♡

I think it's time for all of us to make a petition and let Reiji and Ranmaru have their own route where they fall in love with each other, overcome the Aine drama together and live happily ever after--

Joking aside (well, I'm not completely joking on the route about them and their love story BUT ANYWAYS), I love the fact that so many of you connected Reiji and Aine with that song. At this point I truly want to see some fanarts about this and cry once again the tears I cried over Mafuyu and Yuki.

IF THERE'S AN ARTIST OUT THERE WHO WANTS TO DO IT, KNOW THAT YOU'LL DO GOD'S WORK AND WE'LL BE ETERNALLY GRATEFUL.
