Ray of Sunshine is a Drama/Romance and includes topics of mental health, grief and loss. I've learned a lot after working on my previous comic Socializing101 and tried my best to apply it here, this story is really dear to me so I hope you enjoy it as well!

Synopsis:

Reiya’s world crumbles when her twin sister unexpectedly passes away. Devastated by grief, Reiya's life spirals out of control as she sabotages her career as a volleyball player and strains her relationships with family and friends. Hoping to escape the constant reminders of her sister, Reiya reluctantly agrees to move to Crescent Valley with her childhood best friend Estelle, and joins her hiking and stargazing friend group. Will Reiya find new inspiration in the stars?

The art that's in your DP and in general most of my illustrations from around 2015-2021 is drawn traditionally with pencil in my sketchbook then I'd take a photo or scan and I would color it digitally. The last time I created an illustration in this style was Feb 2021 though, all my current work is digital!

I do miss my old style though but I had some major issues with burn out probably due to Instagram among other things, so I've been trying to explore different things in digital art and avoiding anything that reminds me of my art block. I'm slowly getting back to sketching in my sketchbook again though so I might end up going back to that style eventually.

I started my webcomic Socializing101 in 2015 and posted the last episode today... I honestly never expected to ever finish it but I’m really proud of myself, I’ve drawn many comics but I’ve never managed to ever finish one. I started it when I was 19 in Uni, now I’m 26 and working as a full time graphic designer, while S101 was always my side project it definitely got me through many difficult times, I had pretty bad art burn out for a few years after graduating uni in 2018 but that somehow didn’t affect my work on the comic, I barely drew any illustrations or sketches outside the comic though. I honestly believe it kept me drawing because even when I was burned out from creating illustrations I still enjoyed drawing S101.

I don’t know how many follow me on here for S101 but either way I really appreciate your support, thank you so much!

I've been adjusting Leo’s design over the past few months because this is how I imagine him but also I don't like the design?  i feel like eventually get bored of drawing him if i put him in a comic. I gave him an undercut and I've been feeling better about it!
