Izzy's Important Item: Laptop

Izzy brought a few things with him, but he only really uses the laptop. The other two things are a cellphone and a digital camera; we don't even see the digital camera if I recall correctly.

Regardless, Izzy's laptop helps in numerous ways. Izzy uses it to hack Tentomon's code and get him to the Champion level, he has the Digimon Analyzer that gives critical information on Digimon they encounter, and he uses it to contact Gennai. There is no way these kids would've made it without Izzy and his laptop.

That said, it is a bit out of the ordinary that Izzy brought a laptop to summer camp. He clearly likes working on it, but when he does he gets so focused that everything else just falls away. Summer camp is meant to be a social event, especially considering this one is a school camping trip.

However, unlike Matt, who brought his harmonica to illustrate that he isn't eager to socialize, Izzy doesn't even really realize that when he's on his computer, everyone else becomes essentially background noise.

Izzy doesn't mean to get so wrapped up in his laptop that he forgets the others. When he accidentally ignores Mimi at the temple, he's genuinely surprised to find out she's upset.

To me, Izzy's laptop is similar yet different to Matt's harmonica. He tends to hide behind the computer, relying on it to get him out of nearly every situation. But he doesn't use it to willingly isolate himself.

One thing I appreciate about the original Digidestined are the realistic trials, fears, and trauma they faced.

In Zero Two the only ones we don’t really see deal with trauma are Daisuke and Miyako. They really have not had to deal with anything except sibling squabbles.

And yet hearing about the struggles of others helps them grow and double down on their own self righteousness.

I’m glad for it. Not everyone had to have a traumatic backstory. And I think particularly Daisuke gets a bad wrap for it by being labeled a monkey boy or fool.

He doesn’t let himself get defeated by his faults or failures. And if he beats himself up he’ll psyche himself up and come out swinging.

That’s basically what we saw in the 02 finale with MaloMyotismon’s ventril illusion attack.

He learns from his mistakes too and even though he may react negatively he’ll still continue fighting.

He’s like this:

Digidestined A: I’ve seen things.

Daisuke: Don’t worry we got this!

Digidestined B: I’m a monster.

Daisuke: You’re not as bad as you think! Let’s go get ‘em!

Digidestined C: I feel so depressed.

Daisuke: Cheer up. It’s a sunny day and they got a two for one special on beef udon at the restaurant! I’ll buy!

Digidestined D: You just don’t understand.

Daisuke: and you don’t understand that I don’t need to understand to know what you’re going through!

Digidestined E: …I won’t say it and I smile and laugh with you but I am disturbed by your simping.

Daisuke: Hikarichaaaaaaan!!!! (Doubles down.) I’m good for it! You’ll see! I’m (Insert endless babble about heroics that are so farfetched all she can do is smile anxiously wanting to distance herself in as polite a manner as possible but when she’s with her friends all she can do is laugh with them!)

I don't know KH very well, but if someone else wants to conceptualize that, I would love to see it!

Who the Adventure Kids would cosplay as

Tai: Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop. He has the hair, he just needs a cool suit and a Nerf gun. He gets in trouble for shooting Nerf darts at people

Sora: Yuna from ffx2, but she would wear leggings underneath the short-shorts and half-skirt.

Matt: Sanji from One Piece. He would steal one of his dad's cigarettes to be as authentic as possible, only for it to be confiscated at the con entry

Izzy: DOOM. Like literally. This is in reference to how anything can run DOOM so he finds a way to. just. Be DOOM itself 😅

Joe: Gandalf from LOTR, because I hc that Joe is a big LOTR fan and is one of those fans that knows Everything about the books. Like Steven Colbert level

Mimi: Sailor Moon. Duh. She tries to get everyone else, even the boys especially the boys to dress as the other Sailor Scouts but they weren't into it lol

TK: does a couple-costume with Kari. He goes as Link from Legend of Zelda. He has to be warned multiple times not to hit people with his foam sword

Kari: Princess Zelda. She's the only one who actually goes for broke and has a wig, plus the ears and color contacts. She is in character the whole time. This is serious business.

Davis: an anachronism, but Reki Kyan from Sk8 The Infinity. I know for a FACT that Davis loves that anime he told me himself

Yolei: the only one that went along with Mimi; she's going as Sailor Mars. She had to borrow a pair of pumps from Mimi and has a terrible time walking in them. She changes into birks like an hour into the con

Cody: Cody is either going as himself in a Pikachu hoodie or he's going all out as a cardboard box Gundam

Ken: since his childhood was taken up by trauma and then being an Evil Genius, Ken doesn't have as much pop culture knowledge as the others. Davis helps him out by suggesting Sasuke from Naruto. He means it almost as a joke but when Ken gets excited about it Davis is like 'oooh yeah? Bet' and Ken ends up winning the cosplay contest

My newest head cannon is Homeostasis is actually Ygdrassil and is using the Ygdrassill persona to get what she wants.

She had the Digidestined as deterrents and pawns for the Digital world she but doesn’t need them anymore.

So what does she want? She wants balance. But what is balance? Endless conflict. The good defeats the evil and keeps repeating the process. Birth and destruction over and over again as long as she is the one in command,

When the reboot happened in Tri even all the viral Digimon came back. That’s when she was like ‘you remember what you did before defeating these challenges?’

Well I’m letting them loose. And I am erasing your save file. Also I’m hijacking Hikari and merging two mega felines to make my siren and use her negative emotions to destroy your world.

Also the Digital World wants to cause the Digidestined as much discomfort as possible.

I think Homeostasis truly hates humanity. She loves using them as discardable tools and letting all those she possesses deal with the psychological torment after.

Remember how messed up Maki Himekawa got? Remember how disillusioned and devastated Hikari got? And then by proxy Rui. That poor kid.

Also the sadistic dark Gennai is Homeostasis mocking the human race with carnal murderous desires. Licking Sora, Choking Meiko, and just trolling the others especially with Ken’s persona.

Also remember that dangerous metal dragon you only beat with the light boost from Hikari? Well now he’s hunting you down for sport.

The Digidestined are nothing but clowns! Because they are nothing without their partners. But don’t tell that to Jou who straight up pins Gennai to the ground while Gomamon flopped them fishes around.

Wasn’t aware the darkness could possess Hikari to. Or maybe that’s what Homeostasis Wants us to think and it’s still her the whole time.
