I tried to read reviews for a book I wanna read but literally every single one is complaining about they/them pronouns. I thought “hey, maybe the author was just writing it badly, THATS why people are complaining!”

I’m reading rn. the pronouns are FINE, EXACTLY HOW YOU WOULD USE THEM IN REAL LIFE, GRAMATICALLY CORRECT AND ALL, IT SOUNDS FINE.

I go back and read the reviews again and ALL of the one star reviews are just homophobic. I’m gonna throw a bitch fit. These people read a book that started with a man disposing of a body and the only thing they thought was wrong WERE THE USE OF THEY/THEM PRONOUNS FOR A SIDE CHARACTER. A SIDE FHARACTER AKAKSJSJDJDJD AND ITS SO DISSAPOONTING CAUSE HALF OF THE TEVIEWERS DISNT READ THE BOOK, TEHY JUST HATE JONNINARY PEOPLE. I FUCKING HATE HOMOPHIBOA IN REAL LIFE ITS SO FUCKING ANNOYING AND STUPUD. I’m convinced that everyone who complained about it is illiterate and can’t read anything besides a Colleen hooved level of writing!

I LOVE that Arthur is questioning how much of John is real versus a reflection of himself that’s so cool

I said this before and I’ll say it again, making Arthur blind and reliant on someone describing the world around him was a genius move for a podcast based story because it really puts us in his position I’m here for it

A lot of (not all, but a lot) of the environment in TMA is implied, eg; the layout of the magnus institute, many of the places Jon goes, that sort of thing. It’s not largely explained unless in statements (season five largely or most things about The Buried or The Vast, when Martin visits The Lonely

But we get regular descriptions of the landscape and the places, it’s beautiful
