i’ve been thinking about innocuous photos like the one on the left. because it is my job to neglect the sprouts of imperialism and racism that accompanied my upbringing, i've been attempting to find solidarity even in the innocuous. and how easily it comes: marah and i, both schoolgirls who like cute things, both compelled by the desire to photograph our supplies after arranging them to be just-so. the photo on the right is an old one of mine.

if you were to ask yourself:
“how much do i have in common with a palestinian?”
i think the answer would be “everything.” maybe you’re united by the love you have for your pets, being fans of the same goth rock band, or the fact that, were something of severity to happen to your family, you’d also be online, asking for help in a way your elders might find it hard to wrap their heads around, and making sure people knew they could trust your campaign.
and if this were a message you were sending, i hope that your hope would remain in tact, because people like us, on the other end, would be doing everything they could to help you.

guys everything that has been transpiring in north gaza is so insane that it truly boggles my mind how underreported it is. 8 days and counting of siege in north gaza that's killing hundreds of palestinians daily ("genocide within a genocide"), almost half a million people left with no food, water, or electricity, jabalia camp is literally being reduced to rubble as we speak, no signs of the bombing in lebanon abating with time, north gaza is utterly sealed off from the rest of gaza city, mass expulsion and starvation everywhere--and it's just getting worse. please don't be fooled that it's any better because people have chosen to stop caring. it's every bit as horrific as ever before

Abood @abood-gaza2 and his wife NEED you to save them. Proof they are vetted here. It costs ~$8000 to evacuate to Egypt and that number is increasing all the time due to sick people trying to capitalise on misfortune and chaos.
"I studied accounting, graduated with a high average, and worked in a chain of clothing stores that my father owned. But due to the unjust aggression, all our shops were destroyed, and we lost our source of livelihood and work completely. I was displaced from my home more than 10 times, each time trying to find a safe place, but there really is no safety here. Here we live death, fear, and loss at every moment. We love life and we always have ambitions and dreams that we hope to achieve and we are determined to achieve them as well."
Please help this beautiful family who are currently living in tents and facing a harsh and dangerous winter coming up evacuate as soon as they can, and read their story. They're 1/4 of a way to their goal. Get them closer, every little bit counts.

man i don't know how to say this but gazans here are risking their lives to make posts asking for help. they are asking for you to contribute a small amount of money to buy food or medicines or get shelter.
whether we like it or not, we are complicit in this genocide. either because of our silence, or because our tax money if being used to bomb them. i thought that people would be more eager to help gazans, trying to 'reverse' the damage somehow.
contrary to what i thought, people are moving on. they're moving on from the al-shifa hospital strike, they're moving on from refugee camp massacres and from school bombings, they're moving on from dead children and orphaned children.
please don't be indifferent. help my friend alaa amsse [ @alaakh998 ]. she urgently needs money to buy a new tent. she needs medicine for her sick son. her tent was flooded and she needs to buy supplies. please please help her if you have the means to. her fundraiser has been verified by 90-ghost and the butterfly project (#307).

Is it ? Is it really ? Let me break down the everyday economy in Gaza in the simplest terms I can for you:
Everyone wants to get out of Gaza. This is the primary thing you need to understand. Everyone needs money so they can pay predatory Egyptian border guards to be let through. But since the border is currently completely closed, they mostly need money to buy everyday things and provide for their families.
This is where Gaza's record inflation comes in. Everyone wants to get out as soon as possible so everyone wants to accumulate enough money as soon as possible, including vendors who are selling supplies and food in the first place.
Our current society makes us blind to the relation between product and producer but understand this: almost every vendor in Gaza is Gazan themselves and they have families who they need to take care of as well. This requires money.
@iyadsobhegaza and @rubashsblog (who this commenter was accusing) can't just wait till they've reached their final goal to withdraw the money. They need to withdraw whatever ammount they need every couple of days so they can continue buying supplies. Their campaign has been going for several months and they've been withdrawing from it based on what they need for all those months.
Say they raise $100 one day and know that the next day, they will need to buy medicine and vegetables. A box of meds costs $50 and a couple of vegetables together also cost around $50. So when they withdraw the $100 they raise that day, that means it's been used up.
This combined with the inflation means that money gets used up really fast. Furthermore, the ammount that the p*yp*l shows they have raised does not reflect the ammount they have saved up. It is simply the ammount that has been donated so far.
They have raised exactly $24 USD in the past day.
That's $1 per hour. The minimum wage in the US is $7 per hour. That is already very little, so why are you making them have to go by with even less ? They haven't raised anything even close to $100 for the past several days.
Eman, their organiser who is in Egypt (since p*yp*l doesn't work in Palestine), can't send them these meager amounts because p*yp*l and predatory banks have high transfer fees which will eat up everything if she tries to send it.
They literally have no money.
Now that that's over, I won't take up even more of your time. Here's the current most important points:
Both Iyad and Ruba have gotten their previous GFMs fucked over and lost $38k in total.
Ruba recently got a terrible stomach injury during displacement
Iyad has diabetes and fluctuating blood pressure which impacts his mobility. He needs meds for this.
Winter has come to Gaza and Iyad has several small children who he needs to keep warm and healthy.
They literally just got displaced a few days ago and had to spend all their savings on re-buying their tents and supplies
Yes, they're vetted. (No. 90 and 173 on the spreadsheet)
I dont know what else I can say. I am literally begging you to donate. They have so little and these ill-informed comments are doing nothing to help. You have the privilege of saying this while they don't even have the privilege of having a stable source of income, not to mention having to survive an active genocide. Please donate.
