“One can ignore an indifferent and distant God, but one cannot so easily resist a God who is so close and has even been wounded for love. Goodness, beauty, truth, and love: this is what we have to offer this beggar world, albeit in half-broken bowls.”
— Pope Francis

god I'm so fucking furious at the removal of Te Reo Māori names from organisations around Aotearoa. it's a complete non-issue, every organisation has the English name directly underneath the Māori name. I have never once as an English speaker been unable to understand what an organisation is for. Winston Peters, the Deputy Prime Minister, who is literally Māori himself, said “Te Papa is a historic name but tell me this waka kotahi, how many boats have you seen going down the road?”. Waka does not just mean canoe. it means vessel, and waka kotahi (the transport agency of Aotearoa) explains this VERY SIMPLY on their official website. waka kotahi means to travel together as one. Can you see how fucking upsetting this is. A Māori person in power who is in agreement about banning his own language, being so cocky about something that he does not even understand due to the suppression of the language of his people. It makes me sick. I've seen reports from Māori people all over Aotearoa speaking out about how upset and furious they are, how decades of progress have been undone in the fight to restore the rights of their people who have for so long been oppressed and have suffered the effects of colonisation. Please share this if you can, I hate knowing how few people will hear about this, I know there is so much injustice in the world right now and it is so exhausting, I know. I love you all, keep it up.

re: for the anon who asked about px11 headcanons here are a couple i've been sitting on for a while HAHA they were supposed to be for my seventies au (my pride my joy my baby) but they can probably apply to canon too!
remy:
from the line abt "a job i don't hate" in therapy upstate -> in high school she worked at her relatives' family restaurant and was so so bad at her job lol i love her but she is not remembering any of those orders </3
from no room -> also from high school her Tragic Backstory is that she had a really horrible situationship with a classmate HAHA it feels like it'd be a portia-style track team situation
she's canonically a doctor who girl but canon!remy is a tenth doctor fan while seventies!remy is a third doctor fan (? are there special terms for that idk)
she's also sooo chappell roan coded… she would love red wine supernova i think
she's also like. autistic. but that might just be me projecting
jay:
idk if i've mentioned this before but jay to me is biracial white/filipino! her parents were really devout christians (but i accidentally made all of the characters catholics in the fic so T_T)
in the fic i also accidentally made her mom southern so i just decided to roll with it HAHA she probably wouldn't like to talk about it. she would hate country music
from the part in things we do where she recognises the dominos immediately -> she would totally slay at geoguessr <3
also postcanon i think jay would go by alternating he/she pronouns because of the use of alternating pronouns in the script (which is probably a find replace error but i think is so so fun)
my pretentious filmsis girlfriend. i love her
i have more for daisy/mark but this is already long enough lol sorry for rambling…
Im only an episode into px11 but these are so cool
