Advice To Fall Asleep

Fandom: Love and Deepspace Content: Xavier x F!MC, implications but no smut Summary: You ask Xavier how to fall asleep as easily as he does. He gives you an answer. A/N: My friend harassed me until this fic was written. We had someone else get us into LADS and now we are all simping over different guys. Yes, they follow this blog. Yes, I am calling them out on it. I have been in this fandom for, like, a month so don’t kill me if I get characterization wrong. I’m just exorcising the thots. Word Count: 516

You stretched your hands out wide toward Xavier. From the corner of the couch where you sat, you welcomed him into your embrace with a gentle smile.

“If you're tired, you can rest with me.”

Like a rabbit held in the warm jaw of the wolf it trusted, he fell into your open arms. Xavier's groggy voice muttered something unintelligible as he nuzzled his face against your chest. His arms wrapped around your waist as best they could to pull him closer into you, treating you like a warm pillow.

You carded your fingers through his blonde hair, gently scraping your nails against his scalp with each new stroke.

“I wish I could sleep as easily as you do.” The corners of your mouth pulled upward as you looked down at his relaxed face. “Teach me how.”

His already closed eyes blinked open so he could look upward toward your face.

“The first step is to close your eyes,” he said.

“Really?” You said sarcastically with elation in your words. Still, you closed your eyes obediently. “What should I do next?”

“Lie down.”

You pursed your lips at how obvious his supposed advice was so far, but awkwardly attempted to follow his direction as best you could, relaxing against the back of the couch despite barely being able to move since he was lying on top of you.

“And then?”

“Fall asleep.”

You jerked upright with uncontrollable laughter, which jostled him from where he was lying on your chest. “Is that really your big secret?”

He looked up at you with an expression that couldn’t quite be compared to a pout, but it certainly was trying to be. In a Xavier way. “There's an optional step.”

“Oh really?” You asked with a tone that made it clear that you hardly believed him, but relaxing again after your laughing fit. “What is it?”

Xavier readjusted himself against you so he could get comfortable again. “I can’t tell you now. The routine’s been ruined.”

“I can do the first steps again.”

Just as you said, you closed your eyes, relaxed against the back of the couch, and tried to fall asleep.

But sleep didn’t come for you.

“Xavier…” you murmured, “this isn’t working. What’s the last step?”

“If you can't sleep it's probably because you can't relax.” You could feel him tease the bottom hem of your dress that was bunched around your thighs, casually slipping his fingers beneath the fabric and drawing gentle circles on your upper leg. “A massage can help.”

With your eyes closed, you were more keenly aware of the small circles being drawn against your thigh. And, just as well, you were aware of how easily your muscles relaxed under his touch. “That does feel nice...”

And you said nothing as his fingers crept higher and higher, or when they pressed against the spot in your panties that was already growing wet from his touch.

“Should I keep going?” He asked and it felt like his voice was swimming through your mind.

Your response was simply to part your legs a little further.

"Minecraft needs to be rebalanced! It's too easy to get mending! It's too easy once you have elytra! All the challenges and bosses are optional!"

Yes. That's the point. That's GOOD actually. My little brother needs to be able to play minecraft as much as I can. It's a sandbox game, not an RPG. You can create difficulty and add challenge and modify files! Those are features in the game and regularly adjusted for just that purpose. But the base game is meant to be accessible and universal.

Especially when a lot of "content" comes in the form of professionals, people who earn a living being good at the game and have hours a day to put into it, our perspective is skewed. I love the hermits, but any time they say a farm "only took two hours" to build? I cringe. When hypixel pvp creators talk about how lame netherite makes vanilla gameplay, I sigh. And when someone complains that it's too easy to cheese a mechanic or obtain a villager trade I kind of want to scream.

It's easy *for you*. It's boring *for you*. It's not that it needs to change drastically, you just need to approach it differently. You have a moral objection to how "easy" it is to get a mending villager? Make the rule for yourself that you can only get mending from the loot table. You think elytra take the fun out of travel? Don't use it.

And before you say "well can't they just use accessibility features to make it easier?" NO. That's not the point of those features. Accessibility features that disable quicktime events or remove puzzles aren't to make a game easier, they're to make a game PLAYABLE. Accessibility features in minecraft are to disable view bobbing, change the visual distortions, add directional subtitles....things that make the game playable to people who need them.

Basically, please chill the fuck out about minecraft being easy. If it's too easy and you can't come up with a solution for that, maybe it's just not a game you enjoy playing. Download a mod pack or go play something different.

I think I like Rafayel from LND because he's the trickster type of character. He makes it so easy to forget that 1) he killed ppl, 2) he's basically the last god of the sea, 3) his behavior in nest, 4) this man has A MASSIVE BOUNTY on his head and I doubt it's because he's a painter tbqh.

Rafayel lies often, he hides often, exaggerates often, and he has MASSIVE REASONS for that. The whole Lemuria falling? MC never remembering him? Being bonded with MC thru reincarnations? He has such understandable trust issues and issues with believing in MC or that things can get better because of his experience. The continuous fear that he'll be forgotten? Because that's ALWAYS something he talks about: the hospital scene, the misty invasion card, the several 4* cards. It's all about "remember me". For Zayne it's 'stay alive', but for Rafayel it's 'remember me'. I think it hits so hard.

Because, in reality, are we truly alive if no one remembers us?

I also think that Rafayel is genuinely /the/ shadiest out of all LIs in LND, moreso than Sylus. Why? Because Sylus is not hiding who he is. He's quite open about his scheming nature, his job, etc. But Rafayel? No. He doesn't open up, he hides himself best because of both being a Lemurian but also because of past experiences. I just love this dramatic artist man. I love how genuinely complicated he is and how it's SEEN that he is struggling with MC in a way that others don't. He has the potential to become bitter, and it shows, he bites and he hisses (metaphorically ofc, I know he's a fish man lol).

It's just the 'possibility' and 'realistic circumstances' that make me really admire his flawed character. Because, god damn, he IS flawed. Openly. So brightly in your eyes with his exaggerations, with his lies/deceit, with his distance, with his behaviors. And I love it. Holy shit do I /love/ that type of complicated characters. And I'm not even touching on the complicated relationship with Lemuria as a god who basically led it to 'ruin' in a sense. Good lord.
