       -- Hah! And everyone says we're competitive. Don't know where they get that, honestly. ”

   ”Yeah, gotta admit that you’ve beat me there. At least my coffee-making abilities remain relatively admirable.”

          “ Eh, well. At least one of us is.

       -- But you don't have my alluring accent. I'll take that small victory. ”

   ”Oh, shit, then I guess you just admitted that I’m hotter than you.”

[renaetus]

      “ Are you, though? Because, according to EDI, my body temperature is at least two degrees cooler than your own. ”

    “Please. I’m way cooler than you.”

[renaetus]

“ Careful. ”

      “ Technically you're calling yourself a spoilsport, as well. ”

[ coughs ] “Spoilsport.”

  “ Joker. I've got an AI talking my ear off about grease on cameras.

           -- You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, though, would you? ”

  “ Just trying to get a feel for where the crew's heads are at.

          -- How are you doing, Tali? ”

"Did you need something, Shepard?"

      “ If you're certain you'll be comfortable, then that's all that matters. ” 

The older woman studies the other precariously, arms crossing beneath the slope of her chest before Shepard's weight leaned against a beam. “ I'll get those files down to you as soon as I can, however I wanted to make it clear that we have other priorities here -- and that ill-feelings for Cerberus are to be put aside. ”

                                                                      For now.

“It’s dark and it’s quiet,” a grunt “and it’s away from everyone else.”

The fretting over the condition of her quarters left her shifting about. Arms crossing and uncrossing. She was disgruntled; Antsy.

      “ And you're sure you don't mind holing up down here? ” 

Anything must've been a step-up from cryostasis, but it didn't hurt to ask one more time.

“ ... ”

          “ No. ”

   ”So, hypothetically, if I were to say that I made that coffee, would that warrant a vacation? And maybe a raise? You know, I’ve always wanted a planet all to myself…”

“ Please,” The woman-commander laughs, quickly blowing cool air over her drink before continuing. “I was born in London, Traynor. Tea is practically in my blood.

               -- Great for lazy mornings, sure, not so much for the other kinds though. ”

      And the other kinds were every morning for Shepard.

Samantha manages a tight-lipped smile. She’s never sure what to say when the commander brings up her own death. “I’ve…heard it’s a taste one has to get used to. Although I much prefer tea. Perhaps you ought to give it a try sometime.”

    “ I was joking, Vega. ”

            She's feeling a bit like EDI, at that. “ No need to pout like a four-year old. ” A light punch on his arms follows.  “ Speaking of four-year old's, though, what is this I keep hearing about spiders? ”

     It’s hard realization that smacks the lieutenant in the face, simultaneously playing tricks on his ego. Soon after, a frown tugs at his lips.

                   ”…Here I was, thinking my right hook was improving.”

      I finally got around to making my follow forever list!  I honestly cannot express how thankful I am for this community. I started a while back (2 - 3 years ago, I think!) and honestly, this is definitely the muse I’ve always felt at home with. “ You'll figure it out eventually, Traynor. I remember when I didn't even drink coffee. ” Her mind drifts quickly to where she’d be without the revitalising drink, but such is not thought on long.

          “ Seems like a lifetime ago

                         -- ... which is rather accurate in my case, actually. ”

"It’s probably safe to say it wasn’t one I made. If not for certain colleagues, I wouldn’t have the slightest idea how to go about making coffee.”

        “So when am I allowed to take that year-long shore leave?”
