Script Writing
'This is Portsmouth' is a 6 episode show that covers the local news in Portsmouth. We are required to produce at least one of the shows and create 5 video tapes (VT's) . Me and my team was the producing episode 2 which consisted of news about Rob Moriarty's SSAFA Charity Climb, Portsmouth Climate Action Board's ambitions for the city, E-Scooter and Jacket Required' - A local business success story. I helped with the script writing for the show where we introduced the VT's and gave a brief description of the upcoming information shown on the clip.

Tv Show-
In this module we was given the task to create a 10 Minute Magazine TV Show in groups of 12. We had to include 3 VTs, have studio guests and a running order. We decided to make our TV show about the different genre of music in different cities. The episode we shot was in Portsmouth and we spoke about the indie scene. We named the show Genrescope.

For our second VT we had to create a location video and get various cutaways and a moving piece of footage. My group are basing the videotape on South sea beach, were we will go into how the beach was used in later years and the development of the beach in recent years with tourism.
We exporting our video we did have some issues and because of this the video exported without sound. We did get marked down for this so for #futureimprovements we would make sure we exported all the right files the correct way

Interests
I went to Leicester and assisted a group of people making an advert based on Leicester lifestyle Which involved travelling around different locations to present the different attractions I helped with getting the right lighting. We used reflectors and natural light, but my main job was to find the right position for the camera so the buildings and walkways are well lit. I really enjoyed helping and supporting my friend with this filming piece. I helped by getting the right background for the cutaways and interview pieces.

When in the exam I feel as though I felt easily stressed, so I would have meditation session where I sit and revise positive affirmations to motivate me to do work

Action
VT1-
I went to film my first video tape also knows as VT. Our concept of the VT was to get more information about the Conan Doyle collection at Portsmouth museum. Conan Doyle was an author famous for his Sherlock homes books and we got cut away footage and an interview from someone that worked personally with the collection we was filming about.
When we first arrived at the museum the first person we intend to film didn't turned up to the shoot. When we tried to get in contact with her she didn’t answer but we thought on our toes and got an interview by one of the staff member that worked closely and was familiar with the collection.
VT2-
For our second VT we had to create a location video and get various cutaways and a moving piece of footage. My group are basing the videotape on South sea beach, were we will go into how the beach was used in later years and the development of the beach in recent years with tourism.
Me and my group for my second video tape discussed who we would film for our interview, which we decided we would go into the more marine side of Portsmouth sea life. So we decided that we would film a marine biologist student and get more information on what lives in Portsmouth waters and how they are currently being polluted.
Today we filmed our cutaways for the location video tape 2, we got moving cutaways of the beach, the pier, the animals such as swans, mallard and seagulls. We also got footage of the waves, housing around the area and walking passers by. We decided to separate the days to film cutaways and the filming of presenter and interview because we felt as though this allowed us time to really focus on the task at hand.
Today we filmed out vt2 interview piece again along South Sea beach in which we incorporated the moving camera piece along the beach. After filming we then went to Eldon building to save the footage onto the computer and edit together. I don’t particularly enjoy editing but the more I do it and use the avid programme the more I get used to it.
RADIO1-
For my first radio piece we had to create a local news magazine programme in a group of 4 students. Decided to a radio show that covered a serious topic about cyber bullying and opened up a disscusion on whether we felt as though parents had a big part to play with the controlling of phones. We interviewed a local teacher who had personal problems with these issues.
Me and my radio group came together to discuss ideas for the pre-recored piece. We decided on our main running theme which is cyber bullying within schools and whether we felt as though parents had a big part to play in the controlling of phones. We also discussed the interview in which we have to provide as apart of our work piece. We came up with ideas for the interviewee such as a local teacher, youth worker or parents which have had personal problems with these issues.
Me and my radio group booked out a radio studio session in the eldon building to get used to the different buttons and equipment we will be using when it comes to pre- recording our radio piece. We have all selected different roles within the group and I am a co- host and writer. I feel as though us going to the radio studio will make our final performance run smoothly as we have now had a little experience. Now when it comes to recording all we have to do it familiarise ourselves with the equipment.
Me and my radio group (blue) recorded our pre- recored piece and I believe it went very well. It was thoroughly enjoyable to record and I found the pieces where the work was roughly scripted felt more natural because the presenters didn’t feel the need to cover certain points. I really enjoyed recording the radio piece.

RADIO 2-
The form of this, is in Vlog form. So please enjoy the video of my elaborating on what we’re are doing in this radio session for our LIVE RADIO SHOW

For my second radio piece we had to create a commercial radio show targeted at a ‘CAPITAL’ audience that would last up to 15 minutes. We created a ‘CAPITAL’ alike show with a game of ‘Would you rather’ after linking it to National sleepover day and have a caller play a game with the lucky chance to win £5000.

Engagement with Industry
A femal speaker came to Portsmouth University to talk about her pervious experience on doing the course television and broadcasting and about her Project based dissertation on how to digitalise CCI TV. She works for the company sky where She started in presentation scheduling, which covers everything outside the program on the TV show. She is currently working in the merchandising team. She goes on to talk about the creativity and insight in partnership and ratings and synopsis feedback. For example ratings for love island s1-680k s2 1.5m s3 2.5m. She gave us an insight of the direction in which the different entertainment channels are lead and how people like executives revamp the look of promos to suit the customers. She spoke briefly about pre broadcasting and pilot testing were they test different titles for example six of one was on of the first draft titles for a programme which was eventually branded ‘friends’. The talk was helpful as it gave me a good insight into what sky offers to graduated students. It was interesting to hear and learn about and it could be something I could be potentially interested in.

I created a Youtube channel about a year ago and planned to upload videos that I have fun making. Something I did’nt know I would have to face is anxiety when doing youtube. After I would upload videos I would feel as though I was scared of how I would be perceived. This is why I decided I wouldn’t upload regularly but when I felt I wanted to share myself with the world.Eventually, I would like to see in the future me consistently uploading videos. I made a video with my friend about ‘the most annoying things about boys that are friends’ this consisted of me filming, reviewing and editing. I used my previous skills from which I learned in lectures and I really enjoyed making and editing this video. I’ve tagged the link below so you can view.

Career Plan
My ideal Career Plan
My ideal career plan would consist of me leaving university and getting my degree in Television and broadcasting. It would then be to get a job in editing, potentially freelance work. This would be more appropriate for me as I have a busy schedule but also control the hours that i work.
After I finish University I would like to take a break to travel around the world after being in education for the last 10 years of my life.

Future Improvements
My future improvements is considered throughout the course that I do. More specifically the module units such computer graphics. At first when working with some of the Adobe programme I found it a challenge to know what button to press for different outcomes. Marketing sure I spent time getting to know and play about with the different programs allowed me to because comfortable and more knowledgeable on where to go when first opening and when manipulating a project. For example with cinema 4d, at first it was confusing and technical and after I used it for a long period of time I was able to get used to it.

#futureimprovement #computergraphics
Another Future improvement is the comfortability when working with the radio desk tops in the CCI STUDIOS. When practicing for my Radio live2, my most recent radio assignment piece I found it useful to hover of the OB PRESENTER WHO also had control of the deck controlling when people’s mic were on and off
