Surprise definitely isn’t the word I’d choose, but I’m flattered all the same 😭 TTDS really is/was a work of passion and of longing and searching for something and I’m so appreciative that it found an audience here. Every single part that I’ve written has been an absolute labor of love and I wouldn’t trade any of it for the world. I’m so grateful that you found it and enjoy it ❤️❤️ And listen, the fingers up the back of the neck moment—that one hits me so hard and I WROTE it. I’d be a puddle if someone did that to me istg.

For the WIP game... Tis The Damn Season 👀😁

TTDS part nine is really meant to, like, begin the arc of Eddie and Reader working through shit. Not just late night confessions in the height of their shit, but real and honest readjusting to what this relationship looks like now. They've both experienced shit in the last few months that the other wasn't there for, and while neither of them is strictly a Brand New Person or anything, there's some differences. It's also the chapter where Eddie comes down for breakfast without Reader's parents having been informed ahead of time and their first trip out in the open As a Couple again.

Also Reader's getting the car back soon. Or at least that's the plan.

Nancy Wheeler knows what it's like to wish you were dead is kind of an exploration of Nancy and her relationship to force. At this point, I'm honestly not sure whether or not it's more meta or fic, but it's just kind of exploring the implications of learning that sometimes force--particularly of the deadly variety, but really in all places in life--is necessary and how that contrasts and grinds against the idea that fem-presenting people should be delicate and submissive and gentle in all aspects of life.

Jo is constantly outdoing herself. Holy shit this fic is so good. Such a fun read, so much emotion underneath, just the right amount of weird—I love it so, so much. I’ll probably be rereading it again when I’m not half distracted by phones ringing and coworkers talking but man, man this was so fun.

Here’s the thing. I’m working on chapter 2 of When I’m So See Through. I’m also working on the Champagne Problems-based fic, December Flush. There’s also a secret third thing about mourning and loss and identity that I want to work on but I already have 2 unfinished Ronance projects going. Do I really want to add something new to the mix?

Holy shit, Jo. Holy fucking SHIT. Oh my god. I knew this would make me cry. I knew when I read the snippets you sent me a while back and we both thought you wouldn’t post it. I swear I knew but I wasn’t fucking prepared. Not even a little bit.

I stood in the bathroom waiting on a Covid test and crying. (Negative, not that it’s relevant.) And oh my god. I don’t know how to recover from this one. As always, you have a beautiful and poignant grip on the reality of grief and trauma and illness, and I’m so so jealous of your ability to communicate that.

You’re really spectacular in like every way.
