Posted @withregram • @kirstievannoort My Cornwall research, completed between 2011 and 2017, consists out of four parts; the color- and material research itself (samples and a small series of ceramics), the book ‘Ceramic Paint / Collection Cornwall’ (first field trip and research), the recently published second book ‘Colour and material studies in porcelain / Collection Cornwall’ (second field trip) and The Cornwall Collection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The Cornwall Collection gives more insight about the original use and the story/history of each of the raw material collected during my two field trips. The collection consist out of a series of 5 porcelain objects all referring to the original use of the raw materials, from 5 different industries in Cornwall, UK. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shown here, saucepan ‘Geevor’ colored with pigments extracted from the copper industry (LE02), cup and saucer ‘Nanpean’ colored with pigments from the china clay industry (HE02) and the jug ‘Bugle’, porcelain colored with pigments extracted from the tin industry (1320). The jug ‘Bugle’ is now available through @catawiki Dutch Design Week auction; find the link in bio. In the next couple of months other pieces from the Cornwall Collection will be available, I’ll keep you posted here and via my newsletter (subscribe button at my website).
