Indecision . Sometimes it feels easier to stand at the door but not go through. You can’t quite see what lurks beyond so why not just stay on this side of it. . Making the decision to take action seems the hardest part. Strangely enough, actually walking through the door is much easier. . So I have decided. . I will be phasing out the Renuko Style name starting today with my Instagram account. I will be focusing solely on my fine art and conceptual work. Clearing space to make room for more of what I love. It’s going to be a little tedious and take some time but in the end I am sure it will serve me well. Rebranding in progress. . And it takes a team. Especially when it comes to life-changing medical traumas and diseases. Collectively we are stronger, we build each other up and hold each other up. We can each take a role and not have to feel the weight of the circumstance alone. . ‘Storms Inside Us - Propelled’ . I must apologize. These past few weeks have been incredibly busy. A huge amount of graphic design work came in and I have been working from early am to late at night to keep up with the demand. As with most businesses, work comes when it comes and you must attend to it. And then there’s the Pt appointments and trips to the pool for physical therapy and tests and more doctor appointments. Oh my! Well the upshot is that the issues with my knee that have been keeping my down for the last 8 months are manageable without surgery, yeah! Finally I have a minute to check with you all and see what you have been up to. . So now, with renewed strength, more mobility, a little bit of funds in my pocket, and the past year behind me, I am ready to propel into a new life. As with most “propelling,” one never knows where you will end up. “Storms Inside Us - Storm Surge” . There’s a saying my husband would say when we lived in Mexico, “Let it wash over you.” He was referring to the crazy things that would happen, the stuff that our US minds couldn’t understand or comprehend, culture shock. His expression meant to let it have the effect that was intended. In that case it was a change in viewpoint or perspective. And that’s what a storm surge does, it mixes things up, changes the landscape. . To quote Kyna Leski … “A creative process comes from displacing, disturbing, and destabilizing what you (think you) know.” . With an open mind, a storm surge can lead to a fresh perspective and a different course of life, one that we may not have planned for, but nonetheless interesting and maybe even exciting.

‘Storms Inside Us -Transformation’ . As with a storm we are always in a state of flux. Who were are today is not who we will be tomorrow, we cannot help but be transformed by our experiences. A storm gathers momentum for a powerful event and then weakens. Human beings are similar. But we have trouble being in the weakened state after an event. We too quickly want to move on. But it takes time, sometimes a lot of time, to processes the occurrence or difficulty. Its severity is affected by the shallowness and orientation of the water body relative to storm path, as well as the timing of tide. . Sound familiar? Sometimes the perfect storm descends upon us, a confluence of unexpected events. The timing seems oddly intense, almost beyond comprehension, that so many things can happen at once. The result? Last one of the series with Abby. My favorite. . There is always nervous anticipation before starting a new project. Will my plan come to fruition? Will I be able to realize my vision? Will all the effort and expense pay off? . Here is where the pull of self doubt is the strongest, begging me to give up before it’s too late. Here is where I must keep telling myself to move forward, to ignore the queasy feeling in my stomach and that voice of despair in my head. . Because if I can’t get past this point I will never get to the place where I am loving the process. The whole entire process from concept to reality.
