Remember: If unions didn’t matter, powerful corporations wouldn’t spend millions of dollars every year to stop workers from organizing. Keep up the fight. Research via @economicpolicy.

I hate when another car forces you to park terribly but then they leave before you and it’s just like great. Well now my atrocious park job is deprived of context and I look like an asshole

schizophrenic people are constantly made to be a joke or a quirky edgy meme in recent years and it actually makes me insane. psychosis as a word has become watered down last year there was people “schizoposting” people joke about hallucinating or unreality because they think its funny and god forbid an actual schizophrenic person posts about their experiences because then you get people dming you with scary images and cryptic text to try to induce psychosis like that cant fucking kill someone i hate all of you people

Once again I'm telling people to stop saying trans people are "brain intersex" or that there's a physical thing In Your Brain that Makes Someone Trans
You do realize that even if that were true, it would only turn out badly for trans people (and intersex people) as a whole?
You do realize that then trans people without this "brain variation" would be denied their trans status, right? It would be used to deny them medical care and used by transmeds to invalidate people's genders. You'd have to get a diagnosis to be trans.
Not only that but then being trans would be pathologized. They'd start calling it a disorder and the "treatment" for that disorder might not be pleasant.
The world that we live in isn't good, especially to trans and intersex people. Do you really think that trans people being labeled "brain intersex" would turn out well for literally anyone?
This is the same as that wave of people claiming there was some genetic marker for being gay a while back.
This would only be used against us!
STOP

Had a coworker tell me they hadn’t texted once because of the time. “I didn’t want to wake you.”
I stared at them through the dawning realization that they lived in a world where that was remotely possible. “My phone is on do not disturb if I’m sleeping. Why would I let random texts wake me up? My sleep is important.”
Equally baffled they replied, “What if someone at work needs you?”
“I am not a manager. No one at work will ever need me badly enough to interrupt my sleep. If I’m not working then there’s no reason to be calling me.”
“Not even if you need to cover?”
I laughed, “I don’t need to cover. They could ask me to cover but good luck getting ahold of me if I’m sleeping.”
They looked distressed at this idea.
To console them I added, “I have important people like my mom and my wife set to override. If they call they get through no matter what.”
There was a small pause before they asked, “You can do that…?”
So friendly reminder. Become unreachable. Work does not need you that badly. Sleep.

The thing with using 🍇 instead of just saying rape is that if you really need to avoid censors you could use phrases that already exist like forced upon or violated or something else. 🍇 is genuinely the worse possible thing to use when talking about a serious topic and no I never want to see anyone use it when talking about something that happens in real life. It’s genuinely so stupid
